Rules and Regs

Your app cannot be accepted if mailed to any other account than Jenypher610. Do not NeoMail any other account besides Jenypher610. Read the FAQ and Fine Print sections before NeoMailing me.

Include in Your Application:

Required: List your main account and your sides; which account will this pet live on?
Required: Which of your permies is an example of how your new pet will be treated? How so?
Required: Tell me about your new pet's future. Will he have a petpet? Be trained for BD? Enter beauty contests? Does he have a personality?
Required: Have you ever been frozen? If so, why, and how many times?
Required: Are you planning to trade this pet? How long will you keep it? If you can no longer care for the pet, what will happen to him or her?
Required: Please use the word "Pixee" somewhere in your app so that I know you've read the rules. Also indicate in Pet page apps that I have in no way forced you to make an app.
Required:Your app should include the TNO Pledge of Good Ownership. Be sure to customize this text with the pet's correct name and gender. When you send it, I really hope to not see "he/she" as part of the pledge :).
Required: Do yourself a favor and read The Fine Print and the FAQ (below) to avoid being disqualified.

The Pledge of Good Ownership:

If I am chosen, I, (your name), pledge to be the best owner I can be for my new Neopet, (pet's name). I understand all the sadness that he/she has already been through, and so I will provide everything he/she needs to be happy. I promise to be a friend to my new Neopet and never ever ever put him/her through the pain of neglect or abandonment again.

The Fine Print

Per Neopets (not per me), your account must be older than four months in age before you can transfer most painted and all Limited Edition pets. There are some painted colors that you CAN adopt even if your account is under four months. If your account is under 4 months old, but you have a great app, we can work it out.
Applying does not guarantee that you'll get a pet.
Submit either a neomail app or a pet page app. Either is fine. But a one paragraph NeoMail that's 50% pledge is pretty much auto-rejected (also known as a n00b app or n00bmail), so don't bother wasting your time (or mine). I want you to convince me that you're going to be the best owner, and three sentences about how you're going to feed and love your new pet just isn't going to sell me. Also, a cool layout is not the same as a good app.
If you apply via a pet page app, please leave it up until after the deadline. I do a cursory check of your app after you submit, and review again when all the apps are in. If you remove your app, I'll consider it withdrawn.
I look at your accounts, pets, and customizations. Everything matters.
These pets are not for sale or trade.

FAQ

Q: Can I NeoMail you so we can get to know each other / be chums / increase my chances of getting your pet?
A: No. I really hate having to spell this out, but I get so much mail from people who want to be my BFF as soon as I have a nice pet UFA. If you want to be my friend, just join TNO or hang out on the PC. If you want to be NeoFriends after an adoption, that's fine. But I don't really want to get to know you as part of the adoption process. Let's be honest, we'll probably never speak again after the adoption is complete, so why pretend now?
Q: Ur chombii iz cute, 4 realz. Can I haz it?
A: Nope!
Q: I want to apply via NeoMail. Is it OK to send more than 1 Neomail?
A: YES!! In fact, I EXPECT to see more than one. See the above about one paragraph n00b mails.
Q: Is it OK if I email you to let you know I've updated my app / want to know if you've made a decision / remind you of a deadline ? No, no, and no. I'll check your application again after the deadline has passed - add to it all you want until then. I know when my deadlines are and, if you're a finalist, I will let you know whether or not you've been chosen. If you NeoMail me in a nagging way more that three times, you will automatically be disqualified. It pains me to have to put this in writing, but it seems that netiquette is lost on some people.
Q: There was a petpet / background / item attached to my new pet...do you want it back? It's up to you - if you aren't going to use it for this pet, please send it back. If you are, feel free to keep it! I often attach petpets and use inexpensive backgrounds for my fosters, and I don't mind if you keep them.
Q: Will you extend a deadline?
A:Rarely if there are accepted apps. Contact me about it, and give me a compelling explanation. If you clearly have great owner potential (customizations, happy pets, nice lookups, stories, what have you), I'll consider it.
Q: Will you hold a pet until my account ages / until I have an open space / until I have an open transfer?
A: It depends on the situation and what my transfer schedule looks like for the next few months. I'll try to be flexible.
Q: Do you want to be an affiliate of my adoption agency?
A: Sure, as long as you do reciprocal linking AND you are not a trading agency. Send requests to Jenypher610.
Q: Do you want to be my NeoFriend?
A: Not while I'm reviewing your app, unless we're already NeoFriends via a guild.
Q: Can I apply for a pet in the Being Zapped section? Would I still need to do a whole application?
A: Yes and yes. If you're going to apply for a pet in the Being Zapped section, Neomail me to let me know you'll be applying. Otherwise, I can't guarantee the pet will be the same color or species tomorrow.
Q: I'm applying for pets at other agencies at the same time. Is that OK?
A: Yes.
Q: I have a basic application that I like to use and customize. Is that OK?
A: No. This is a BIG NO NO. My pets are special, and don't deserve the cut and paste app treatment. Cut and pasters who get caught get disqualified immediately. It makes me sad that I have to say this.
Q: But a lot of the app questions are the same from agency to agency. And the info about me is the same. So, why can't I use cut and paste apps?
I really don't mind similar language, but I do mind identical language. When you use the same app again, it shows that you don't really care about the pet enough to put a fresh effort in each time.
Q: Can you tell me how I can improve my app?
A: No, because if you're applying for my pets, that would kind of give you an unfair advantage. There are lots of people out there who can help you. Personally, I highly recommend that you do a search for The Official Neopian Orphanage and seek out their totally awesome application reviewers for some great feedback and assistance.
Q: I've never done an app before. Will you go easy on me?
A: No. I'm not trying to be mean, but I really need to judge every application by the same rules. I was rejected a few times myself before I figured out I was going about applying all wrong. Here are some great pages that will help you.
