mustard's pet page!!

Hello guest and welcome to my petpage!! My name is mustard22_2000 or just mustard for short!!

Here's what I look like:

I'm a cheeky looking darigan zafara, with just a tiny evil glint in my eye. But don't I just look awesome?! Emma used a morphing potion on me and then a darigan paint brush. I used to be a starry eyrie.

Please visit my owner's shop. It's brilliant! Click Here! It's where she sells all the prizes she wins from the legendary neopets game, Keyquest!

On Sunday the 1st of February 2009, crowbones80 decided to turn my pet page into a Keyquest Page!!

I'm a ferocious fighter, but I'm technically not that strong. But my spirit and determination is unmatched! My stats are at:
Level: 19
Strength: 30
Movement: 30
Defence: 30
Hit Points: 30

Although you might not think it from looking at me, I love to read books, crowbones80 picks out good ones, and if I like them, I read them! And because of that, my intelligence is now at 292!!

And yes, the legendary paint brushes! They can be won from redeeming lucky gold keys (and possibly silver). There is one that crowbones80 hasn't won yet - the striped paint brush! But these are the types of paint brushes that she has won (she's actually won 2 or 3 of each!!)

And then finally, on Monday 9th February 2009, crowbones80 won her first striped paint brush! It's very pretty:

Yes, you too have a chance of winning a wondrous paint brush, or even several!

The other very valuable prizes you can win on keyquest (usually with gold keys) are pieces of the treasure map, and of the secret laboratory map. Make sure you look up how much they are worth roughly, before selling! Don't lose np!!

Here is an example of a really good gold key! This little lot is worth almost 200,000 neopoints!

So, how can one win on key quest, to have the chance to win these fabulous prizes? It's all about being alert during the game - consider all your options on each turn - which would benefit your situation the most?

If you play enough, you will very soon develop your own special tactics for each of the mini games, which suits your abilities and your computer's behaviour and/or speed!!

The key is to practice - to help you at mini-games, and at decisions in the game! The more games you play, the more you will have experience of the options you have at every turn of the game and which benefit you the most!

You may like to figure out a special planned route around the board, for your favourite starting home, and for the others. But every single game is different, and you don't know what will happen to you next! So no game is boring. You will have to adapt your route quickly if, say, a gust of wind blows you to a random square on the board.

A very good tactic is to always try to land on the treasure chest square - BUT - make sure you have at least one key, otherwise you won't get anything!! But if you land on it successfully, you get your choice of key and a random power-up! Plus quite a few neopoints too!

But one piece of advice from me would be to use power ups very wisely and carefully! If your opponent has lots of power ups that could be used on you, don't use one on them unless it is a really good opportunity! Don't use it just for the sake of using a power up! Because you may end up victim of all their power ups for the rest of the game! Play it cool, and only retaliate if necessary!!!

For a period of time I recorded data from the keyquest games I played, to calculate certain statistics, such as the average time it took to play a 2-player game, on average how many turns/rounds there were in a game.

Overall I recorded data from 422 keyquest games!!

The average time of a game was found to be 8 minutes and 50 seconds, with a standard deviation of 2 minutes 36 seconds. What that means is that 71% of the games would last between 6:14 and 11:26 minutes. But roughly, a game will last 9 minutes!!

The average number of turns was found to be 10! This may be different for other people, as the use of lots of power ups can make the game last for many more turns!

Also, for a time I felt that I was always throwing low dice numbers! So I decided to check this! It fluctuated quite a lot, but with over 5000 dice throws recorded, the average dice throw was as expected statistically for a fair die - it was around the 3.5 expected!
This is a chart I made of the frequencies of the dice throws! Quite interesting!

At 10 PM on Monday the 16th of March, 2009, crowbones80 finally got her 1000th Gold Key Quest Key!!! Yay!!

crowbones80 drew a portrait of Lord Kass, who is an Eyrie, like I used to be! She won second place in the random contest with it!
