HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CALLED A "n00B"?

Do you want to get rid of that ugly name? I can totally help you. Keep reading my step-by-step easy guide to get rid of the n00b label.

Step 1: Language

n00bs are generally known for the immature and illegible (well, sort of) way they communicate online_ .. n00bs use "chatspeak".

Chatspeak is using online abbreviations...examples: u, 2, 4, thx, sup, omg, smrt, ppl. Not only is it ugly, it can make reading your wonderful neomails and message posts somewhat stupid, as well as making you sound less intellegent than you really are.

sometimes when people say things in one long sentence without any kind of commas or punctuation or capital letters it can get really hard to read it takes a lot of time to figure out what they are trying to say its almost like you need to put the punctuation in yourself. See how hard that was to read? Do us all a favor...punctuation is easy to use. Just press a few keys. And how hard is it to find shift, and use it? Not too hard.

Step 2: Page Design

Trust me, it's not a good thing to be known for your poor use of HTML. By the way, HTML is all that codes and stuff you put in to your lookup and pet pages. Now, I'm not saying that you need to go take a course on how to do HTML, but there is some very basic knowledge you should know.

Breaks. Enters. Whatever you want to call them, they help make your page look organized and not sloppy. To put in an "enter" type in:

It's as simple as pressing four keys. Well, it is pressing four keys! Now, just insert that br where ever you want to put an enter.

To keep away from n00b status, use basic page orgainization. Centering things is super easy. You CAN do it, and will make your page look better.

Note the picture above. What's wrong with it? Let's see. #1: They have icons of all sizes next to each other, and it looks sloppy. Try putting stuff about the same size beside each other, then the bigger stuff below. #2: It's great that they left the link back to starlightmks(dot)com. But, try copying that image and putting them below each other, or at least centered. It makes the appearance of the page so much better!

This person is also a n00b. Keep ONE link back, and chill with the blinkies, m'kay?

Step 3: A Good Way to Chat on Boards

Not only are n00bs known for their little knowledge about basic HTML as well as silly ways of typing, they are known for their spamming of NeoBoards and random outbursts of stupidity.

As much fun as it is to bother people, resist the urge to type in stupid topics and comments, such as this one:

It may seem fun to go "omg i am so bored" and try to get people to come to your topic, but it really is just annoying. And randomly saying "wee!" doesn't bring down your n00biness. It ups it.

n00bs talk about stupid things like rating names and Disney Channel. (Hint...you'll be a n00b forever if you pose as Miley Cyrus.) Try talking about intersting things, unlike these people.

Don't be a report happy. If you're disagreeing with someone about something stupid, like a favorite band or TV show, just forget about it. I know it's easy and fun to press "Report this Message" but it just bothers that person and makes you seem like a moron. Only report if something BAD is happening, not if you happen to not like a person.
