Hi, I just thought I'd share a little about me, but before I go on, let me first introduce myself. My name is
Amanda. I go by
Manda or
Mandie or whatever. I've previously gone by the name
Kayla here on neo (as more of an alias), so if that's how you know me, totes fine.

I first started playing neopets when I was about 11. It's funny to look back at those times and see how undoubtedly immature I was. :3 I don't understand why people put up with me. My old account was
_glitterpuppy_44, but I beg you not to go look at it... it's horrifying. I just about died when I went to see if it still existed. DX WHY TNT?? WHY YU NO DELETE IT?? //embarrassing
After about 1 or 2 years on neo, my mom made me stop playing (she was worried about REAL stalkers, and she was
definately right to be. -me being like I was-). So I stopped... and then I came back on and made a
new account. X) Luckily I had gotten my act together a little. I no longer use Zs instead of 's's and I do not incooperate numbers into all my words D'X //so painful.
As I've continued on neo, I've found that creating a guild is tiresome and joining new guilds is... frustrating.
New guilds tend not to last very long. More often than not I join a new guild and by the end of the month, it collapses, leaving me, yet again, guildless. Eventually, I joined the guild
Comity. That guild lasted a couple of years before collapsing, and even though it collapsed, it was a great experience and I made wonderful friends who I still keep in touch with. I hope I can have another of those experiences in the future.

Hobbies and Pass-Times
Programming/Web-Design: I thoroughly enjoy many aspects of coding. At the moment, I am studying general computer science in college. I know the ins and outs of HTML and CSS. I also know a good deal of -blocked- and XML, and have recently gotten into PHP. As far as programming goes, I only know C#, C++, and a small amount of C, but I'm supposed to start learning Java soon (I hope). I may just go and learn about it on my own time. I find the field time-consuming, but a lot of fun. I haven't quite decided if I want to go into full-on programming, or if I would prefer something more IT-involved, but so far the CS major has been a great experience.
Drawing/Painting: I participate in both traditional and digital art forms. Mostly I just draw/doodle, but I have recently started to teach myself digital painting. It's turning out to be a lot of fun, though I'll probably not share much of that until I start liking how my paintings come out. X) Anywho, my favorite medium is the good ol' #2 mechanical pencil, but I also like ball-point pens, Prisma Colors and Copics. Mostly I draw people, but I'll draw the occasional animal or sometimes, if I'm feeling particularly ambitious, I'll draw plants and backgrounds. :K
Desktop Publishing & Graphic Design: Originally, I was majoring in Graphic Design, but I changed my mind (during my freshman year) mostly because of the pay-grade and the job pool. I love creating graphics and working with publishing programs to create beautiful print-outs, but not enough to bet my whole career in the area. I used to work with illustration to create vectors all the time, but I actually haven't done any graphic-related projects for nearly a year (except at work). It's kind of a retired hobby.
Photography: Another slightly retired hobby. I had wanted to minor in photography, but I late found that I'm more self-concious in this art than I am in other arts. I don't like to step out of my comfort-zone with taking pictures, namely photographing people and instructing them to do stuff or taking candid photos. Strangely, I lack confidence in that area, so I dropped that idea almost immediately. I still take pictures on-and-off and hope to get back into regular photo-taking, but it's been a while since I last picked up my camera.
Writing: I do write, but I've got to be in the mood. Writing is hard and takes a lot of brain power for me. I think in pictures, so words are more of a challenge for me to work with, but I'd like to think that I was a decent writer. I enjoy writing fiction as well as non-fiction. I'm more of a short-story and novel kind of person. I don't care much for poetry, essays or formal letters and such.
Netflixing: Yes, I do consider this a hobby. It's totally a hobby. I mean, you have to have a lot of patience and experience to find the good shows on that thing, hahaha...ha, yeah I'm totally kidding. I do, however, spend a lot of my time on Netflix. It's a big passtime for me and a great getaway from real life. It kinda acted as my replacement for Neopets during my Hiatus my Sophmore and Junior years of college, mehe. Anyway, shows I am currently watching: Parks and Recreation, Criminal Minds, Burn Notice, Warehouse 13, Eureka Seven, Moribito, and Jericho
Reading: Though I am not an avid reader, I do love books and stories, so reading is a favorite pass-time of mine. I'm mostly into Fantasy, Sci-fi, and Distopias, but I do like the occasional historical-fiction here and there. I do not care for romance, but I'll indulge if the story and characters are interesting and likeable enough. I'm all about action/adventure, and I tend to lean towards childrens books more than mature fictions. My favorite book series is Percy Jackson and the Olympians, with either Lord of the Rings or Narnia in close second. I also highly favor Seraphina and Daughter of the Forest (first in the Sevenwaters series).
