Don't edit your writing until you're done with it. If you edit chapters 1-10 before chapters 11-20 are written, there won't be any chapters 11-20. Just write your story first, then go back and fix it up.

When you're in the middle of writing a book, in any stage, that's what should be on your mind most of the time, and when it's not, you should be asleep. Always be thinking of where you are, where you want to go, and how you're going to get there, and as soon as you figure it out, write it down. There is no such thing as too much brainstorming. YOU ALWAYS NEED TO BE WRITING, EVEN IF IN YOUR HEAD.
