About the project
Why, hello, pinktwirlz. I see you found your way to my little corner of neopia. At this point, you are probably wondering what this place is all about? It's simple actually. This page is the home for PROJECT ACERVUS. Project Acervus is a project that started December 30, 2011 in the Help Chat room, when a group of open-minded HC'ers came up with the idea of a new neopets species: Acervus. Project Acervus in one sentence is a project designated to making Acervus the next new neopet species.The acervus neopet is roughly described as a pile of soot. (The name derives from the latin term meaning pile, or heap). This pile of soot would be much like the petpet, with the exception of the fact you can paint it different colors. For example, a desert acervus would be a pile of sand, and a faerie acervus would be a pile of faerie dust. Cool, right? Since acervi are just piles of various things, they would not need to be customized using clothes. They would only be able to wear background and foreground objects. So, TNT wouldn't have to work overtime making sure the acervus can wear all of the 900 billion trillion kajillion wearables out there!
How it started
On December 30, 2011, a board was started in the help chat room, titled "When do you think there will be a new species?" It started out as a discussion about when the last new species was released, lutari, in 2006. Then, one user said this. "I want to see a pile of soot neopet!" And then the ideas began to fly! Pile of sand, pile of faerie dust, puddle of water, pile of apple slices, the list goes on!So, on that same board, I (pinktwirlz) offered to put it on a petpage and try to submit it to TNT. Soon after I said that, we decided to make it a project.
And that's how project Acervus began. Will you help to continue it?
How you can join
I can hear you now. This must be the most amazing idea in my entire neopets existence and if I don't join surely my life will be worthless! Okay, maybe not. But, you do think it is a good idea, right pinktwirlz? Well, no worries, because you can offer your support with nothing more than one simple neomail! Here at Project Acervus, we have three things you can do to support. The first and easiest way is to simply sign our petition. It doesn't require you to do much of anything! (Don't worry, we won't make you sign the project in blood) Just drop pinktwirlz a quick neomail here using this form:
The second way is to sign up to be a member! While the petition does not ask for much of anything, being a member requires you to do a little bit more. Being a member requires you to have at least one link up to this page somewhere on your account; this means either in your userlookup, shop, or gallery. (Also, it would be totally awesome if you could put a link in your neosignature on the boards, but you don't have to.) This is just a way to spread the word about the project and help it grow more well-known. If you decide to become a member, we will have buttons you can use to put up, or you can always use a text link. The third and final way would be to contact TNT with the Acervus idea! If you have signed the petition, or are a member, it would be nice if you could do this as well to help TNT notice us! There are two ways to contact TNT, it could be through a ticket, or an editorial question! Remember, if you do contact TNT, please be polite and not demanding, otherwise they won't give it a second thought. Only send one please, so as not to spam them. :)
