FAQ on the Guild Board

1) Why belong to a Guild/what to do here?

In a Guild you will learn a lot more about Neopets than being on your own with the added bonus of getting to know some lovely people! We have a wonderful mix of active, friendly, and helpful members of all ages who are dedicated, experienced, successful, and fun-loving Neopians. Our Home Page has links to some of the greatest and most popular places to visit in Neopia, plus all the dailies and site freebies! If you are new to the Guild or simply a member who has not yet posted, please feel free to introduce yourself to us on the Guild Board... we want to get to know you, guest, and welcome the chance to help you.

2) When do I get my newbie pack or Guild freebies?

This Guild does not give out newbie or freebie packs, as membership has it's own rewards! Please do not expect to be handed an item worth hundreds of thousands of Neopoints simply for joining our Guild. Do we give out Paint Brushes to anyone who asks? No. Shocking, isn't it?

3) How do I get promoted?

The more active, friendly, and helpful you are within the Guild the more likely you will be to advance... you could win MOTM! (Member Of The Month.) Also, donating items to faerie_galaxy, and/or buying from the Guild Donation Shop, will help. Please try to donate items with an estimated value greater than 200 neopoints so that they can be used in the one-neopoint guild auctions... thank you!

4) How do I support this guild financially?

5) When can I participate in the Guild Auctions?

Once you are promoted to Leader Faerie and become a friend of faerie_galaxy you are automatically eligible to participate in the one neopoint Guild Auctions.

6) When can I borrow Guild Avatar Items?

Once you have been promoted to Leader Faerie you can borrow Guild Avatar Items; my owner also has many items for lending ~ all at full collateral of course! Please look in my owner's beautiful Gallery to get an idea of what some of my owner's avatar items are.
Please do not ask to be lent the Faerie Queen Doll for less than full collateral!

8) What can I do to get myself promoted?

As long as you are active on the board, your generosity, kindness, and helpfulness will not be overlooked. Simply hanging out on the guild board chatting to pass the time of day is perfectly acceptable but will not get you noticed. Become familiar with different aspects of Neopia, and be willing to share what you have learned. Being knowledgeable about Neopets in general, these FAQ, any other matters pertaining to the Guild, and being supportive of all Guild members will improve your chances. My owner is an avid Neopian with trusty co-council members... we know who is truly helpful and who is not. A word to the wise: do not make inane posts, like simply "lol" or "wazzup?" Please make an effort to post full, intelligible sentences so we know what you are talking about and can likewise respond. When you ask a question on the Guild Board, those who take the time to answer appreciate it if you stay long enough to at least acknowledge their responses. If for some reason you cannot stay but come back later, please do not ask the same question over again... read the back posts! Yes it takes time, but your time is not more important than our's no matter how busy you think you are.

What is proper board etiquette?

Proper Neopets and Faerie Galaxy Guild etiquette kindly requests that, when posting on the guild board, you please refresh the page a couple of minutes after you have posted your message in order to give anybody who is on a chance to read and respond to what you have said. No chat-speak please!

9) Can I borrow avatar items without full collateral?

First of all, that is very poor English! Tsk, tsk! You should say, "May I borrow..." Okay, down to brass tacks here... the answer, quite understandably, is a resounding and unshakably firm "NO." My owner is a very generous person who may see fit to lend you something without full collateral, but bad behaviour, such as begging, will not gain you her favour. The same holds true for all Guild avatar items.
Please do not ask to be lent the Faerie Queen Doll for less than full collateral!

10) How do I get rich quick?

Yowza! How did I know you were going to ask that question, you might ask, as if it weren't the number one question of all time! And my answer would definitely have to be... there are no short cuts. If your desire is to be a happily successful and rich Neopian, then you are just going to have to do what all other happily successful and rich Neopians do... join a guild, play games, do your dailies, and create a shop to sell the items you buy from the site and neighbourhood shops. Buying items from the site shops on half price day (3rd of every month) will increase your profit margin. Thinking of banking your Neopoints? One million Neopoints in the bank will net 288 Neopoints per day in interest, but you should be able to make much more than that a day through buying and selling! Learn how to use the Shop Wizard properly, re-stock regularly, check your item prices often, and keep track of what sells and what doesn't by carrying items over 1,000 Neopoints so they show up in your shop sales record. Wondering what to sell? Find items that appeal to you by browsing through other people's shops and then check to see if you can make a profit by selling them in your shop! Check the Calendar to see what special days are upcoming, and look for items to sell related to that theme, as the prices will go up considerably right around the special day. Helping out on the Quest Help Board will also give you a good idea of which items people are constantly looking for to fulfill the requirements of their Faerie Quests, as will actually doing the Quests yourself. You will find a Guide for becoming a millionaire in ten weeks in the Neopian Resources section of this page. It takes hard work and dedication, but don't despair! Keep working at it and you will eventually get there, guest... and don't forget to have fun along the way!

11) Why are there so many do's and don'ts?

Yes, Neopets is a game, but every game has rules, and most if not all chat boards have codes of conduct. Please follow them. We will not tolerate any abuse, spam, or begging on the Guild Board.
