Sam's Background's and Music
These are my made up Sonic characters. If there's a character that's not mine in the 'friends' catagory of any character then there will be a rp in () after the name. Please note that I made all the sprites and you cannot, I repeat, cannot use them in any way, even just change the colors and then use them. When I say that, I mean all but the picture of Albino, whom I could not get the clothes right on. After hours of slaving away on the computer and not comming close, I finally gave up. The picture is made with Gen's Furrie Dollmaker from deviantART and edited by me. Also, none of my characters have last names because I'm too lazy to think up last names for 'em all and I dun wanna be unoriginal and name them "----- the hedgehog" or "------ the echidna" or anything like that. You get my drift.

Species: Hedgehog
Age: 14
Birthplace: A canyon with a meadow to the east and a city to the west.
Friends: The main Sonic crew, Sam, Nightshade, Stripes.
Enemies: Eggman, Albino.
Crush: Sonic
Likes: Hanging out with her friends, peace, having fun in general.
Dislikes: Being teased, discussing the Wind Gems, when she gets angry.
Fears: Killing her friends, people she loves dying.
Family: Sam(twin sister), the rest are dead.
Appearance: Green hedgehog with turquoise eyes. Her quills and ears are dyed multi-colored though. She wears a purple t-shirt with a white, sleeveless hoodie over. Her gloves are fingerless and purple. She also wears purple sweatpants.
Personality: Pretty go with the flow normally. When she gets in a fight though, she defends her friends with her life and would gladly take a bullet for someone. She also tries to steer her friends away from fighting for her problems.
Story: When Sarah was a little girl, she lived with Sam and her family in the canyon where she was born. One day, Albino came to her home and befriended her family. One day when Albino went out to do something, Sarah and Sam followed her, and the ground started shaking. They hid in an underground pocket in the canyon wall, and when it stopped, they climbed out to see a landslide of rocks where their town used to be, everyone in it dead. Albino found them sobbing and took them in. Sam ran away soon after, but Sarah stayed, loyal to Albino for being so kind to them. She soon found out, however, that Albino had triggered the landslide that killed her friends and family, and was going to try and kill others with a brilliant silver gem called a Wind Gem. Sarah stole the gem from Albino and tried to escape, but Albino caught up to her. Desperate to stop Albino, Sarah wished the gem could become a part of her, and the gem followed her wishes, fusing into her body. Sarah then managed to use it to escape from Albino. Now, the Wind Gem is her life source, and if it was ever to be removed, Sarah would die. It's drawn to energy, so if she's shocked by electricity, the gem would be drawn to it, out of Sarah's body and she'd die then. The Wind Gem normally lays dormant inside her body, but if her negative emotions, like anger, get too extreme, then the Wind Gem starts reacting and the powere's too great for her to take. She thinks everyone is an enemy, and tries to kill every person, even if they're her friend. This is why she hates being angry. Sarah met Sonic and was introduced to everyone else when he saved her from Eggman, and even though she had decided she wasn't in love with him for a while, has lately been thinking differently.

Gender: Female
Species: Hedgehog
Age: 14
Birthplace: A canyon with a meadow to the east and a city to the west.
Friends: The main Sonic crew, Sarah, Stripes, Nightshade.
Enemies: Eggman, Albino.
Crush: She thinks she doesn't have one.
Likes: Playing the guitar, hanging with her friends, annoying people (mainly Stripes), waffles, making fun of people in love, performing in concerts, basically anything fun.
Dislikes: People who flirt with her, people who accuse her of being in love with someone, when people call her "Samantha", when she can't have her way, hugging (Her form of hugging is to throw one arm around the person's shoulders, anything else and she freezes up), kissing, various other forms of affection.
Fears: Closed, dark, small places (aka, she's claustraphobic), being alone with no one she can be with, pretty much any caves or places underground, even if they aren't that claustraphobic-inducing.
Family: Sarah (twin sister), everyone else is dead. She considers Nightshade her adopted brother though.
Appearance: Sam is...hard to explain in words. Basically, she's a green hedgehog with turquoise eyes, with some blue and red hair dye thrown into the fur on her head, but green sections still show and she has bangs that hang down across one side of her face (imagine like what you'd call "emo" syle). Her left ear is triple-pierced with two loops and a stud, and she hasn't decided on her right ear yet but wants more than three for sure (which Stripes REALLY disagrees on) and her tongue is also pierced. For an outfit, Sam wears a white t-shirt that she cut so her midriff shows, and a blue jean jacket over it that she leaves open. Her pants are blue jeans with a red patch on the right leg, and a red skirt over with a green patch on the left side. A chain runs down from her skirt to a jeans loop. Her gloves are black and fingerless, and she also wears a silver, spiked wristband that Stripes gave her for her birthday one year. Her shoes are split red and blue down the middle straight-wise, with a sliver band sideways across the middle.
Personality: Sam describes herself as "Somewhere between a punk, emo, goth, skater, rocker (whatever that is), and something no one's invented yet." Most other people describe her as "Annoying and loud." She shortens her words a lot when she speaks, and uses slang a lot. And she is, indeed, loud and annoying. The only time you can really get her to calm down is if you throw her in an area that induces her claustrophobia, where she gets hysterical and will cling to whoever is closest. (Which for some apparent reason ALWAYS happens to be Stripes...)
Story: When Sam was very young, she was really good friends with, and had a crush on, a hedgehog named Kevin, who was really arrogant and full of false "bravery". Meaning he got into trouble because he went looking for it. A lot. Anyways, one day, he, Sam, and the other kids where they lived were playing near the edge of their town in the canyon, and Kevin thought it'd be fun to explore a crevice that led to a cave inside the canyon wall. All the kids were afraid to go with him, except for Sam who, not wanting him to think she was a wimp, wanted to go with him. The two went in, but the cave wasn't very stable, and Kevin managed to knock free a rock that was holding up the wall. The cave started to collapse, blocking the exit and causing the walls to move in. A pocket of rocks above Kevin broke free and fell down, killing him and crushing his body, and freaking Sam out. As the walls continued to close around her and came really close to squishing her, she was sure she was next to die, but the kids outside had gotten adults to help, and they broke through the wall in a hole just big enough for Sam to get through and they pulled her out. This is what caused her claustrophobia, fear of caves, and why she won't let herself love anyone. Between Kevin, her family dying, and eventually leaving Sarah (See Sarah's backstory for info on the last two events), she determined that love did nothing but cause pain, so she eradicated it from her life. That didn't last long though, because soon she met Nightshade. After convincing him to join her band that she'd always wanted to have after she had been taught how to play the guitar for a job she managed to get earlier (Then kicked out of very quickly), she and Nightshade grew really close, and since his family was also dead, Sam decided they should adopt each other, and now refers to Nightshade as her "older adopted brother". After picking Stripes up at a drummer audition (Where she made up his nickname), their band was set and ready to play. They're somewhat on their way to fame, but not quite their yet. Sam doesn't consider Stripes as part of her family, like Nightshade, but she feels close to him and enjoys picking on him because he disagrees with her views on things most of the time. Even if she acts and feels herself that she finds him the most annoying person on the planet while's he's still just her friend, she's beginning to feel "weird" around him in a way she doesn't understand at all. Theme Song: "Sharada" by Skye Sweetnam In Love Theme: "I Won't Say I'm in Love" from the Disney movie Hercules, by Susan Egan (I've met her ^_^ She did Meg's voice, thus she sings the song.)

Nickname: N/A
Gender: Male
Species: Echidna
Age: 16
Birthplace: A forest. He's a decendent of a line of fire-weilding echidnas that were banned from the various tribes of old. The family prospered by itself, away from others of its species. There's also a ruins nearby.
Friends: Sam, Stripes, Sarah, Jane, the standard Sonic gang...
Enemies: Eggman, Albino (He's never met her, but since she ruined Sam's life she's his enemy too).
Crush: Jane (Not my character, she belongs to a friend of mine. Shall linkage her page when she gets it re-organized and such.)
Likes: Relaxing, hanging out with his friends, moments when he can actually speak his piece.
Dislikes: Water (causes his fire ablilities to not work when he's wet), when Sam and Stripes pull him into their fights.
Fears: Evil spirits. (As in ghosts. He doesn't freak out about it and puts on a brave face, but he's scared of 'em. You would be too if you were him.)
Family: Darkshade (Older brother, rest are dead. He does consider Sam as his younger sister, just doesn't preach about it as much as Sam does.
Appearance: Nightshade is a charcoal-colored echidna. His quills are really long, and pulled back into a low ponytail. A couple also frame around his face. He wears black gloves that're completely fingerless and a red headband, both which have the japanese kanji for "fire" stitched on them - black thread for the headband, red for the gloves. He wears a white tank top with a black vest over and a red-and-black striped loose-fitting tie. He wears black pants with various red stripes looping around it and red shoes with black sections. His eyes are light gray.
Personality: Nightshade is very outgoing, although at first glance you may think differently. After being along Sam and Stripes for so long, he got into the habit of not really talking, since Sam had a habit of interrupting people, and developed a habit of having to comment on every little thing that's said. Stripes would then have to yell at her about being more polite, then she'd yell back, then they'd get into a fight, and yadda yadda yadda. This doesn't leave much talking time for Nightshade. If you manage to get him alone though, which doesn't happen often, he actually talks a lot and is very enthusiastic, almost an entirely different social person.
Story: Nightshade comes from a family that's been cut off from the world, and one that happens to have a history of fire abilities in it. Nightshade has inherrited those as well, so he can create fireballs and control fire, even though he refers to it as "communicating with fire" because he'll actually talk to it. When Nightshade was young, he and his older brother, Darkshade, were exploring an old ruins that was by their house. In their excitement, they accidentally released the spirit of an evil king out to imprison the world that was sealed within the ruins. The king's spirit, no longer having a body of his own to control, tried to take control of Nightshade's, but switched almost immediately after he realized that Darkshade was the elder, more powerful, brother. And most importantly, Darkshade's fire abilities had developed, while Nightshade's hadn't come in yet. The newly-possesed Darkshade then proceeded to kill their parents, and would've killed Nightshade, if it wasn't for the fact that Darkshade's spirit was still somewhat there in the body, preventing the king from destroying his younger brother. From the few seconds the king had spent in Nightshade's body though, he developed the sight of the realm that spirits dwell on, meaning he can see them. There aren't that many around, so it doesn't drive him crazy, but sometimes it can be hard being the only one who can see something. With his parents dead and his older brother possessed by a psychotic spirit out to kill random people for the sport of it, Nightshade wandered into town and spent many years as a beggar, playing a guitar he had salvaged from the remains of his home, having been taught by father earlier on, for money. Sam eventually found him, being impressed with his skill for the guitar, and managed to convince him to join her band. She told him they had adopted each other, but at first was reluctant to act like that towards her, because he didn't have a very good model of an older brother to be, but he's managed to work it out now. He's also the only one that Stripes will talk to about his feelings, and Nightshade REALLY just wants Sam to get over herself and go out with Stripes already, but he restrains himself, trying to convince himself that they need to figure this out on their own.
