~Marley has lost the majority of her early memories to amnesia, the origin of which she still doesn't know. She has tried to determine more about her early life, but she has no trail to trace. This is consistently the source of a lot of frustration for her.
~She has the extra-sensory abilities in the realm of the soul and the spirit, although she knows very little about them or where she got them.
~Marley has a special place in her heart for the ocean, and consistently feels the urge to return to it. The entire family has this urge, because they originate from the coastal area. The sea makes her feel calm and safe.
For some time after, Marley wandered alone, trying to piece together her identity. Eventually she was found by her cousin, Kern . He too was suffering, having been transformed by grief for his lover's disappearance into a beast. Together they began the process of mending...eventually Kern regained his original form, more or less. He brought Marley with him to the land of Endoré. Personal preference rendered them seperate; Marley joined Taurquendi, a jungle clan, while Kern joined Oiolosse, a mountain pack.
Their happiness was brief, however, as bad news found Marley. Her estranged sister Celebraie came to her in a dream, begging her to take care of her son. Although her memories of her sister were clouded, the dream took hold of her. She was overtaken with the desire to help the nephew she had never met, one she had only seen in dreams. Kern and Marley left Endoré to find the young one, and upon coming to her sister's oceanside home, found the pup alone and very frightened. At first, all he would tell them was his name: Zissou. Slowly they dragged the truth from him. Celebraie was a selkie, something Marley had been unable to recall due to her lapse in memory. All Zissou knew was that his mother had been gone for days. Something around his neck caught Marley's eye: a glowing vial of light. She brushed her paw against it and her eyes seemed to glaze over; after a few seconds a sorrowful expression crossed her face. Without another world, she picked up the puppy and left the cave. They took the pup to a place where they knew he would be safe: back to Endore, a land where there were capable leaders who reigned over the beautiful lands, keeping peace and harmony.
Back in Taurquendi, they were welcomed; as time passed, Zissou grew, and both received ranks within the clan: an Arothea and an Othar, respectively. Although Taurquendi was her home, Marley still felt displaced sometimes. Her first friend, Briar, disappeared and before her eyes, her other friends and acquaintances have found love, had families. Zissou is almost grown now, and without any clues about her origins or her capabilities, or a close companion to confide in, Marley grew detached and a little sad, and spent most of her time daydreaming beneath her favorite tree or at the seaside, alone. One night she dreamt of a brother she hadn't known she had--Incrow. Determined to find out more, she resolved to search for him; it just felt like something she needed to do. Her origins were still so much of a mystery, she needed to know more. So she left. She begged Zissou to come with her, but he couldn't bear to leave Taurquendi. So she began her journey.
Kern: Even though they are only cousins, Kern was always Marley's closest relative. She considers him a brother, and refers to him as such often. When in Endore, she was able to visit him, although not as frequently as she would have liked. She often jokes that they are kindred spirits--both have taken in a pup that was not their own. Although in looks they do not resemble one another, they certainly are similar with respect to their kind and humorous demeanors. They had only met briefly as young pups, and mostly formed their relationship after Marley lost her memories.
Incrow: the brother she has just discovered she had. Given that Celebraie is long gone, Marley sees him as her only hope to know more about what her life was before. She felt such a strong urge to find him that after seeing him in a dream, she left the only home she ever had to search for him, intending to return with him. She has yet to recover him, however.
