xohlia

Xohlia, the guild, was founded on November 10, 2007 by Mist and Humph, along with one of their friends, Kittin. Originally envisioned as a dragon roleplay, it expanded into a classic medieval fantasy when they started bringing up other races to populate the world they designed.

A day or two thereafter, both Kittin and Humph left due to real-life issues. Most of the other fledging Xohlians chose to leave; but Mist decided to make a last-ditch effort and see if she could revive the guild. Much to her surprise, it worked... and she found herself in charge. {As a clueless newbie who didn't know how to code, had never tried to make a graphic, and had never even been on a guild council before.} Amazingly enough, the guild didn't crash and burn -- something that could only have happened thanks to its great members.

Since then, we've grown and prospered. The passing months have brought us everything from a rotating council system to an incredibly detailed set of lore; and along the way, we seem to have acquired High Lord Smudge and ice slugs and a mushroom forest. Members have come and, sadly, gone -- but every one of them has left their own mark on the land.

Role-play Genres: Alongside fantasy, I roleplay warriors, gifted, X-men, wolves & street cat.
Likes: Hmm… Animals, dragons, celery, carrots, apples, oranges strawberries, chocolate, writing, reading, roleplaying (duh), storytelling, playing video games, painting, drawing, daydreaming, sleeping, hanging out with friends… I like watching House, Monk, Animal planet, Myth Busters… I also like making random comments that usually have nothing to do with the conversation… This is usually why I do pretty well at the games Association, Sentences, Concentration and my fave, the Random Game… If you do not know of these games, feel free to ask. xD I like being helpful as well, and I enjoy talking to people about problems they might have…That, and I love abusing smilies.
Dislikes: I don't like spiders (I don't mind bugs overall, just ones that can actually hurt me), or scorpions, nor do I like artichokes, beets, liver, tomatoes, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, onions_ bell peppers, pot pie, basically anything overly greasy other than fried chicken…and the list goes on and on… When it comes to food, I can be real picky… Anyway, I dislike preppy people, snobs, lazy people, overly happy people, rude people… (I'm not much of a people person…=3), knives, guns (including pellet guns), things that smell funny, perfume, cologne, and having to cross busy roads where people tend to ignore the speed limit and stop signs/lights.
Other: I am a sophomore in highschool, play French horn, and have a wonderful little gray kitten named Gracie. I am an English nerd, who struggles to grasp the concept of math. Though, I am taking Pre. Ap Algebra II… But that doesn't mean I understand it in the least. =3 I guess I fall into the weird category, being as all my friends are either absent minded, incredibly hyper, verging on the point of being evil, or have the mental classification of being clinically insane. Exaggeration? No, one of my friends has been to the insane asylum around three times for various reasons… Anyway, back on topic… Where was I? Likes: 42, writing fantasy stories, playing Mario Kart on the Wii, too many movies to count, TV shows -Moonlight, Angel, The A-team, The Incredible Hulk (from 1978), NCIS, books-umm, quite a few, in general though, most vampire books and fantasy books.
Dislikes: People who don't know when to stop talking, snobs, superficial people... I think you get the point on that one, mayonaise, hard crunchy cookies, illiterate people.
Other: Um, I can have a bit of a temper which usually leads to a lot of sarcasm and me being a big pain/grouch for a while afterwards.

Joined Xohlia on: Was originally here when the guild was first created, but then left due to other stuff. Then joined again. Then left due to lack of time. Then, Mist got me to join again on Feb. 7, 2009.
DOB: August 18. 300 B.C. I'm older than you.
Role-play Genres: I go for anything fantasy, medieval or modern, durrr. Uhmm, I started out with Warriors, and will do anything feline, along with wolf and horse (fantasy or realistic.) I don't do high school or family, though I once did a hospital onexone_ I've been wanting to do gifted, sci-fi, and shapeshifting, but I can't find many of those around. Modern odd pairings are fun too.
Likes: Purppleee. Cherries. Grapes. :)
I also like ice cream (especially Dippin' Dots x) ), cookies, and hot chocolate. I like snow, I like being sarcastic, I like music (any type, really.) I like coding and playing around on Photoshop. I like singing (and I'm pretty good at it) along with acting and such. I like painting, I like dancing. I like reading anything fantasy, though there are some realistic fiction books that I like too. Vampire Knight (especially Kaname, of course), and Kakashi. Not Naruto, just Kakashi. Cause he pwwnss. That's about it for anime.
I once had the strangest obsession for Warriors. Old habits die hard, ya know. Basically anything vampire too. LotR is the besst. I like the Hunger Games, the Book Thief, My Sister's Keeper. Anything Meg Cabot or Scott Westerfield. PJ&O. Pendragon. Ahh, Flowers of Algernon made me cry ;-; Harry Potter is a nehh, in case you were wondering. My family and I are serious loyal fans of Friends, the sitcom.
Dislikes: Eragon&n00bs&asparagus are at the top of my "hate" list.
Fangirls (just in general.) PEOPLE WHO TYPE IN ALL CAPS. People who overuse exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ppl who use chtspk. People with anger management issues. People who can't spell/use grammar and get mad at others when they ask for them to clarify. People who. just. cannot. make. compromises.
Other: I've been playing piano since I was very young. My teacher is, in fact, Mist's mom. I compete, blahhblahh, and I'm forced to learn music theory. Music theory is something I should add to my "dislike" list. I'm one of those "must get straight-A's" people. If you've got a problem with that, blame my asian parents. :/

Role-play Genres: I am a history nut. When I'm not making things up I roleplay based on things that happened a long time ago. It's like getting the best of both worlds. Historical is fact related yes, but the characters can still be whatever you want them to be.
I also use to roleplay Gifted, but I think I have swayed away from that. But in the words of Jack Sparrow, if you really want to see me roleplay gifted, "Persuade me.
Likes: You asked for it. Dislikes: The only thing I really dislike are people who think they are better than everyone and unfortunately are. But just because you are the best at something doesn't mean you have to rub it in everyone's faces!!!! Okay, my mini rant is done.
Other: I know what you're thinking... -ahem- KEPA? PENPALS? And these are? These are my main projects for when I have nothing to do. There is also DIGIJAI (actual title TBA) so I guess I'll mention that too. KEPA is my fictional world of fantasy. It has four contenants (Kinvorrad, Ezeryk, Phalo and Atoxiel) and over 40 countries. Currently I have created 112 unique people who live in those countries. Now I am NOT trying to be G0d or something, I am simply making up excuses to make plot lines and characters on a daily basis. Hehe. And PENPALS? This is a series of books I started when I was 13 years old. Its all about five girls trying to over come a villain who wants to eliminate all the females on the earth while still surviving their own problems. And lastly, DIGIJAI is exactly as it sounds. Its my my team of Digimon Ocs. I even created Digimon for all of them. Hehe, maybe I shouldn't have so much free time. Hehe.

Role-play Genres: Anything that catches my fancy, either humanoid or animal. Fantasy, whether the genre or just an addition to the roleplay, is usually good; modern fantasy, in particular, is always fun. Unique {and interesting} roleplays are another big hit. I'll also do certain fandoms, so long as I like the books and the setup's easy to 'play.
Likes: Mmh. Purple.
Oh wait, you wanted more? Brownies. Ice cream. Fruit. {I 'unno why, but yeah.} Salmon. Sarcasm, ranting, and whining. Baiting n00bs on the boards. {Not newbies, just n00bs.} The favorite word at the moment is "defenestrate", closely followed by Mist's love of the prefix "pyro". {And her random fear of actual, physical flames. Don't ask.} Beartraps. Writing horribly long and pointless descriptions of the surroundings while roleplaying. Ballet {though I'm fairly bad at it}. World of Warcraft. Poking people at inappropriate times. Parentheses/curly brackets {couldn't you tell? cx}
Books: Anything by Mercedes Lackey, Terry Pratchett, Eoin Colfer, or Neil Gaiman. Usually, stuff by Orson Scott Card. The Hunger Games. Lord of the Rings {or what kind of fantasy geek would I be?}. Temeraire. Aside from those, usually more fantasy/sci-fi books.
TV: Firefly {whyyyy was it canceled? ;.;}, White Collar, Avatar the last Airbender, and Chuck.
Dislikes: Anything that annoys me x3.
Sweet pickles. Irrational people {see below}. Most fads. Rabid fans. Twilight {mostly because the series has some logic issues that irk me. Not to mention its portrayal of females.} Bad grammar from people who flatly refuse to learn better grammar. "Literate/advanced" roleplayers who think writing = using a thesaurus. For that matter, purple prose/overdescription/wolfspeak. Stories/roleplay that try to cover gaping lore holes with lame excuses {"Magic happened. Oooooh."}
Other: Mist is a biology geek, which means that she's usually the person off in the corner at parties, ranting excitedly about things like pXO1. Or mushroom biology. Or luciferase. She's planning to get a research job involving microbiology, and other dangerous infectious things.
This also means she's rather too rational most of the time, and will ask for proof at the stupidest times. Or get into long and involved "discussions" {not arguments ;o} that bring up more details than you'd ever want to see. Isn't it great? 8D
As a Taiwanese-American nerd, she also plays the piano like every other asian person out there {those who don't play the violin, anyway}, is learning Chinese and Spanish, and will be flayed alive if she ever dares to get a B in any class again {she's had three. in her entire life.}.

Joined Xohlia on: Well, the guild records say I joined sometime in November last year, but that was because I left for a short period of time. I originally joined sometime around February of 2008. More or less, I've been here a looong time. ^^

Alrighty… I do, any type of fantasy, Bleach, most any type of gifted, modern pairing stuff, stuff based of plots I create, circus themes are pretty awesome too, occasionally ATLA, or just other random roleplay that take the bizarrest twists and turns, like one second they'll be in the Russian ballet and the next they're eating muffins on the back of an elephant. –shrugs-
