Intro

Being the explorer you are, you just HAD to go adventuring didn't you? Yeah, and now you've gotten yourself lost on a wide open plains area. So far you've seen everything. Or at least, MOST of everything.
It's getting late when you decide to go back, the sun's already gone down two hours ago, and you can't find your way. In fact, you can't see much of anything. Lovely, eh?
So, since you have such AWFUL eyesight in the dark, you decide to camp out, and soon enough, you're sound asleep...

KA-THUD! comes the sound of some of your pots and pans being knocked over, and you wake up just in time to see the tail of the culprit running away. It's long, fluffy like, and brown with white on the end of it. It dissapears as fast as it came. Oh, but what happened to your poor eyesight? Oh, yeah, well, now it's daytime...
When you FINALLY finish packing, you start to try and find your way again. But, suddenly something appears before you, and you didn't even realize it was there until you almost walked right onto it.
Sleeping in the plains, in the middle of it, rather, was a brown lupe... or was it a fox? It's tail... was the one you saw earlier, of coarse. It had tall pointed ears that where very straight. The creature's eyes where closed. And when you crept up on the thing.. you saw...very, very, VERY small wings on it's back. They where so small they where about the size of half of your computor mouse!
As your so intent on the wings, you didn't notice it woke up... and it's staring at you!


Story

I once belonged to a Pack. That was so long ago. It was my birth pack. We were a pack of royal bloodline of the race T'kai... We where canne creatures who where similar to both foxes and wolves, and we had the agility of a cat. The male royal ones where born with wings. Very small wings. They where for show...mostly. Our age was similar to humans. If we lived sixteen years, we would be sixteen. But, unlike humans, we T'kai could keep on living. Disease and Poison did not effect us. The only way we could be killed was either starvation or by being killed by another creature.
My father was the leader of the Pack. He was the king of the T'kai race. My mother was the Queen. They lived and reinged in happiness, and thus bore me.
I was the Prince of the T'kai. And I was named Tanrei Anarii Savvi after an ancestor of mine who was a great ruler. We, the T'kai, lived in happiness for many years...but like some many other stories, it did not last.
Time...seems to fly by. My sixteenth birthday came around. Everything was like usual... until everyone went to sleep. It appears that there where assasins there, hired to destroy my pack. They where large ones of a wolf clan. Most likely the warriors of the pack they belonged to. They...killed so many innocent T'kains... It was horrible. My mother grabbed me in her jaws and ran... we where pursuited. One of the wolves slashes at her back. She increased her speed, and ran like the wind. We lost them finally. My mother and I found a safe place to rest for the night, and we finally collapsed onto the soft earth. We, exhuasted and tired, finally went to sleep.
The next morning, I awoke to find that my mother...did not make it through the night. I assume she died of the wounds that wolf had given her. I stayed with the lifeless body of my mother for two days, mourning sadly. But...I realized I could not stay there forever. After much grieivng, both for the fate of my pack and my parents, I set out on a long, hard journey.
Along my many travels, I met a trader. And somehow... I can't really remember... Somehow, I aquired a black cloak from him. It kept me warm and hid my true identity. After wandering in the wilderness for two years, I stumbled across a small wolf pack. I was tired and in quite an...unexcusable condition.

Who are you?" The leader, a strong wolf with a white coat asked me.
I....am......." I murmured.
Well?" The leader questioned again.
I am....Lulu Lot..." I told him, not wanting to give out my true identity to one I knew nothing about.
Well, Lulu Lot, would you...like to join us?
...Y...yes...

It was a kind pack. They treated me like one of their own and we where like family. Especially one female that stood out from everyone else.



The female approached me, "You're Lulu Lot... aren't you?
I nodded.
Well... I'm Fae.
I bowed, "Pleasure to meet you, Fae...
She giggled. Her voice was as sweet. "Nice to meet you too, Luu...

From then on, we spent all our time togethor. Talking about things we liked or just having fun togethor. But, I never told anyone my past. One day, we had a very serious conversation... I...I will never forget it.

Luu...what do you think is goin to happen when we're older?
I was confused, "Uhh... why do ask?
Well... I dunno. My...dreams are just...haunting me...
Haunting you? What do you mean?
Oh, it's nothing. Forget it..." Fae looked away from me.
Fae?
....Yes?
Don't worry... if anything happens I'll be here to protect you...
....Really? I...hope so..." Fae said as she buried her head into my neck.

Time went by. One day, I was out hunting. I had been very unsucessful after many tries. I decided to give it up and go back when I smelled something burning. Curiosity drove me further towards the smell. I, getting nearer to what I realized was a forest fire, also realized...that this was in the direction of my pack. I raced to the spot where our pack always roamed. It was burning... I dodged fire and falling trees, trying to find Fae and the others. I could find no one. But, then I saw a figure lying on the other side of the fire, where there was ash. The wolve's coat was burnt and it was not moving... But, then I recognized the wolf. It was Fae.
I rushed to get to her, but the fire was holding me back. I jumped through the fire to her and kneeled down and nudged her. She wasn't moving.

FAE! FAE!" I cried.
There was no response.
Fae! Please! ....You can't be dead..." I cried out, tears dripping down the sides of my head and onto the ground.
Still, there was no response.
Then I knew... she was dead. "No... I...I promised I would protect you! I promised..." I nuzzled her lifeless body, crying my heart out for Fae. Rain came down as if the clouds where crying too. The fire died out from the rain, and smoke and ahses abounded everywhere. I...it was too much to see, and I fell unconscious.
I awoke to find myself sleeping next to the body of Fae. The rain had stopped, and it was night...full moon. I searched for others...but only found dead bodies. From my past, I knew I could not stay there, and left immediately after burying the body of Fae and the others whom had suffered the same fate.

Time has passed, and my memories are fading away. I can recall a couple, but most have slipped away with time. And I know I will never love again.... I am alone.
