C'est la guerre

Lt. Colonel Woodruff at your service...

This is my World War II (and possibly WWI) anthro/neopets rp character.

Who the bloody hell are you?

Name: Charles Ashton Woodruff (Charlie)

RP Used For: Anthro WWII

Occupation: Lieutenant Colonel (Major) in the British Army. Bachelor's degree in law.

Age: 43

Birthday: October 16th, 1899

Allies/Axis/Neutral: Allies

Nationality: English (British)

Species: Lupe/ wolf

Height and Build: 6' 1, slim body frame, but toned arms and legs

Eyes: Green-gray

Hair/ Fur: dark brown hair on top of his head (with a couple of grays here and there and in the muzzle) that is combed back, but often falls into his face. A mildly coarse milk chocolate colored brown fur covers his entire body. His underbelly, inside of his ears and paw pads, the tip of his tail, and the better part of his muzzle and face are a creamy white.

Tattoos/ Scars/ Markings/Injuries: Has a fair sized nick taken out of his left ear from a stray bullet that went though his helmet at Dunkirk when he was a part of the early war British Expeditionary Force. He has a bullet hole scar in his right shoulder just above the lung from an injury sustained in WWI.
In some role-plays he has a major war injury (depending on the time during the war, depending on the rp) of being shot in the knee during battle with his troops at the front lines. This leaves him with a painful limp for the duration of the war (not discharged.) He has other minor scars on his torso, paws, etc. from general warfare and barbed wire encounters.

Clothing: Charles fights in the European Theater, mostly throughout France, the Low Countries, Norwegian Campaigns etc. so thus he has a mild to cold weather "battle dress" uniform. He wears the typical Brodie Mark II helmet that was retained though WWI by the British but cherishes his old Khaki service cap and wears it when he can around camp.
Being the haughty officer he is, he tailored his collar like other officers to allow a collared shirt and tie to peek though the battle dress blouse. Wears several bars and patches and perhaps one or two medals along with epaulets to signify his rank. He wears the typical belt, trousers, and combat boots of the battle dress uniform. In the snow, cold, or cold rainy weather he wears a khaki trench coat (another bit of his uniform that he tries to wear often) and black gloves and a black scarf. Tries to keep him uniform in good repair, but is not a clean freak if it's dirty, has bloodstains, or rips. He often likes to wrap his paws and wrists in strips of cloth to prevent chaffing, sores, or cuts to form from use.

Personality: He is serious, stern, brave, and dedicated officer, but can be caring and feeling individual. He has been though many battles with his men and has seen many hardships and deaths, so he is rather cynical and pessimistic, but he does show a lighter side upon occasion. He likes to crack jokes shoot the bull and boast with his fellow officers and troops and play cards or chess. He bumbles though dramatic speeches before battle, but he is encouraging to his men out in the field and has a sharp and sarcastic wit.
He is an intellectual Lupe, and does well in most academics and when writing up strategic battle plans, but he is often very arrogant and conceited which can lead to spats with his fellow officers. He's got a great deal of pride and honor that he inherited from his father and he doesn't like having to accept charity or a lot of help from others. But he often gives help to others and is one of the first to rush over along with the medic to a fallen soldier after a skirmish. Although he does not have a very high threshold for pain, he will do anything to get his troops or friends out of a bind, even if it means he gets hurt or captured due to his duty as a soldier and his morals.
He has a short fuse and a strong temper when it comes to being insulted, accused or put into a corner. Although he does try to figure problems out using logic and calm others down around him as a leader, he often becomes very accusatory and says and does things that he often regrets. He either acts too fast or too slow in battle, as he either thinks too hard or is too fired up to truly think about the situation. This has lead to casualties and injury or himself and his troops and that has indeed affected him. He is often wary of his own decisions and consults others due to this.He has high expectations of his troops and expects them to obey him to the last man.
He is a gentleman soldier first and foremost, and is a respectable fellow who tries his best to treat other with respect IF they do the same to him. He is certainly not afraid to speak his mind, but knows when it is truly necessary for his safety and his job to keep it shut.
He smokes and drinks, and curses quite profusely at times. He does not have a wife currently (although he did in the past,) but has romantic relationship with a woman he favors back home with whom he has a regular correspondence.

Strengths: Work in Progress

Weaknesses: Work in Progress

History:
Rough Draft-Pre WWII
-Born in 1889 in London, England
-Younger sister Christine, 5 years his junior
-Father and Mother- happily married- father was a banker in West London
-Middle to Upper class comfortable living
-Charles went though school in London, and in the summer visiting the family summer home in Berkshire. He enjoyed activities such as taking piano lessons, going to the theater with his parents, riding his horses, and going on outings in town. He played on various sports teams within school and was attentive to his schoolwork. He enjoyed reading in English class, but could never write creative stories. He was good at mathematics and the sciences and took a few classes in French and German (before the war.)
-Father served in WWI, Charles joined late in the war (as he was rather underaged) as a private in the Calvary. Wounded in France on the Western Front in the right shoulder above the lung.
-Both father and son came out of the war. Charles stayed in the military, but in the reserve so he could go to school. He went on to college and obtained a bachelors degree in engineering. Charles went into the chemical engineering business, although he was lackluster about the occupation.
-Charles married a young woman and had a son around 1930. They had a nice comfortable middle class home in London, and were a happy couple. However the happy marriage was broken up in the mid-late 1930's when their son died of pneumonia. Charles's wife, grief stricken and possibly sick herself, could not bear to live with Charles after the death of their son, and moved away quickly to "go see her family." Charles searched high and low for her, but she was not to be found and has not been seen since. (It is suspected that she may have died in the Blitz as a body was recovered that resembled her.)
-Charles once again was called out of the reserve to fight in WWII. Since the cavalry had been dismantled, he was placed in the Army.

Weapons: Enfield Rifle No.4 Mark 1, Enfield No2 MkI Revolver (double action), Combat Knife, Grenades, No 3 Mk 1 single shot double action signal pistol
