. Got lost on some star, it wasn't so far
You've been gone all along and you know deep down your wrong
Relax and accept that won't happen again
And as long as theres a tomorrow, there will be a today
Your brought awake from a deep sleep, and drearily notice the general, loud vibrations around you. Though you can't decipher them, you stand and look out before you. Where am I? You ask indirectly.
The humid air is evident with the thick lair of icy morning fog that seems to lay among the shrouded plants, trees, and other foliage. The soft, blurred edges of lines can be seen out in the distance, masked by the fog in a soft blue-black shade. Mountains, and at the foot a large lake connecting through a gap in the mountain wall out into the ocean. A loud, repetitive sound nearly makes the shrill bird cries unaudible from its power. A waterfall, ocean, blue-black mountains, everything seems to discard your existance.
Get out. A rough, sharp, masculine voice orders. You push yourself to your feet and turn around, in the direction of the demand, and see the large, muscular beast... his species is implacable, some sort of combination with a reptile, a horse, and a cat. It's hue is a magnificent mixture of blue-gray and it's about the size of a draft, maybe a clydesdale. It bore silvery markings and large, bat-like wings which we're folded against his back. It adorned several pieces of jewelry, mainly bracelets and a beautiful cast necklace hang loosely, making him stand out more. It has a white mane, short and pushed off to the right, and running down his neck with the short, stubby hair. Delayed, you notice a small, bright object against his forehead. Blue and beautiful, you crept forward. The creature growled at you, from the pit of it's throat, the sound horrible and warning. You slid back a step, and look down at it's feet, which we're actually... paws and hooves. Strange. Such a huge, intimidating animal with such innocent feet.
You're going to get hurt, he added loosely, his sharp, glaring eyes softening to distaste and annoyance.
I don't know why I'm here, you can't hurt me... you say distraught with the mixed emotions. Apparently, you're alone... at least, as far as speaking goes. In less the birds talk too, then he was the only one there that could help you be less... lost. Who are you? You ask warily.
He peered at you, uncertainly, before taking a step forward. He stretched out his kneck, tapping at your shoulder with his nose. The pressure pushed you back and you flailed, catching yourself. His eyes shone with what appeared to be amusement. You were a toy to him, now. A strange new thing. Maybe he had never seen a human before... maybe he just thought you were too weak to hurt him.
I am Xaidao-Na-Lechuries, he says, flatly, still looking you over. His head was about a yard away, heavy and distorted. His mane and adornments gave him the regal appearance suited to his demeanor. His name was strange, his last sounding like 'leh-sur-eeis', a strange one.
Welcome!

About Lune
Even though I hate this section, I believe it's important that the owner of said pet be informed of the nature of the applicants lifestyle, habits, names, said entitlements, property, possessions, location, etcetera. Though I believe as well that you can learn the better of this from reading the application, I think this is a good section to realize the things that make the applicants application so… strange. Different. Oh, and yes, I love sentence fragments… because there fun… and hold potential. The whole thrill-thing going on there, saw it? A period after a short false-sentence makes you almost frozen in apprehension, right? Okay, I'm running off the subject. I'm sorry, truly, truly sorry…
Well, let's see… me, huh… I'll start with offline.
I'm called several things. My real name is Monica, or MOHNKA. Right now I'm living in Florida, I speak both English and Russian fluently as my mother taught me both when I was still rather young. I'm a teenager, though personal age is something I prefer to not disclose. Something to do with privacy. Besides, I give everybody down to my middle name and street address, the only way I can protect my identity is the helpful bit where I could be eight or forty-five. Anyways, I love learning about Ancient Cultures and Astronomy, I plan to be a journalist when I'm older, either that or an Ambassador. –cough- Though that's just a little dream I've had since I was seven. Yes, I'm demented. I'm mentally instable, I remember things in third-person, when I meet people I read them down to there features and the exact shape of, say, there head and nose and things because I'm an artist by nature. Inherited, along with being a perfectionist. I just felt like mentioning that. It's really cool. Yes, I like saying cool. I'm immensely random, insatiable when it comes to reading people, I love guns and kittens, I'm a sports addict, I love comedy and suspense in media, along with almost all genres of music. I have a brother who tops 6' and has only used about ten words in a vocabulary he's accepted to use with me. Very exciting. I'm a country-girl, too. Live there, love it there, okay, so I love living in a lovely, calm place in the middle of nowhere with a recently dried up and filling-in creek on a road entitled after the creek. I'm a strange person anyways.
Online my life for the last three or so years revolves around neopets. Since I started playing on this site, I've been addicted to it. Throughout my love of the internet, it started three years ago, and ever since neopets I've gone off to explore the reaches of forums, messengers, literacy, and other wonderful things! Online I go by one of many nicknames. Crypt, short for Cryptic(didn't see that coming, huh?), Lyot(means Ice in English), on neopets I normally am called Lune, also called Panther and by some, Moni, or CL(though it means perfectly nothing). You can call me by Lune, Crypt, Moni, or Panther. In less your Russian… but I don't think you are. Anyways, either of them are fine, and I didn't put them in that order to threaten you into only taking the first, nor am I challenging you to exclude the first from a possible title… okay, sorry, just wanted to make a point. I should warn you I do that now and then. Just call me by whichever sounds the nicest to you. My full name means 'Alpha Female of Wolves'- if you play around with my last and middle name in Ancient Greek a little. I spend a lot of time on different forums, from surfing the neopets forums to being a silent fan-girl on select websites based on TV shows I watch. I'm a big fan of The Dailey Show and the Colbert Report, too, but I doubt anyone on neopets really knows about them. I spent over 10 hours on neopets on average, though recently my internets been on-off. While it's not working though I can have the time to write stories, and work on petpage layouts for some of my pets though… oh, and of course this application. I love making designs for my pets here on neopets, and I love art and roleplaying. I normally spent about 12 hours rping throughout the day over messenger then in-between rping on forums, over neomail, and some other things.
My Accounts are Lady3158, my main, which sadly has a horrible name but… I live with it. I also have my youngest accounts, Fathom and Sayinglies. Fathom is a to-be-second-main, and Sayinglies is a pet-storage-account. I also have Noldeath, which means zero-death, and deathswarriorx. Yes, I had a strange obsession with no-death when I was at that point in my neopets-life. Those accounts, if I'm correct, are all several months old. The last one I listed over a year. All of my pets have designs, though sadly I took down most of my art for newer improvements. I think I stated somewhere lightly that I'm a perfectionist… well, I am. I like my work, then by the end of the day I admit I hate it to death. But there isn't anything I can do, I'll hate it forever by that point… I did also mention I'm strange. Well, there you go.
Why Xaidao?
Why do I want to apply for your beautiful Royal Draik? Because I fell in love with him. I've always been known as a 'Draik Lover' by some avid FanClubers who see me lurking about on those forums, escaping the newbie-ones. I think I've told five people now that if I ever get a draik I'll roleplay-link with theirs. I've always wanted one. Well, tell you the truth, I've always wanted three. –snickers- But you have to start with one, right? I'm still surprised even at myself that I actually wanted to apply for the male royal draik instead of the female royal draik, seeing as out of those three I planned to have two females and one male, but… well, his name was perfect, and I don't know why… I had to apply for him. The first problem I came to which kept my unsure about applying was… well, he's Xaidao. I had already marked him off as your draik… I've seen you on the neopound forums for awhile, and every time I saw his name, you popped up. He was too… taken. A part of a family. But seeing as I have a love for short names that start with 'X' –seriously- I had to apply. I wanted him to be part of my family, if he couldn't be a part of yours any longer. Second problem, and last, was this- face it, he's a draik. I've attempted to apply for a draik before, luckily I got her but… the owner and I we're chatting about what times we're best when she suddenly vanished and was never seen again. That was several months ago, and finally I think it's been long enough to start considering another draik. I hate competition, I'll admit it… I'm always terrified of the popular pets. While the request boards still screamed 'Xaidao!' I had to try for once to do something risky- to apply. So here you are, as am I. I did not apply for Xaidao for the avatar, which I think is self-explanatory. Who would go to the trouble of making an at least slightly thought out application without wanting the actual pet? Well, I can give you my word- or typed out word- that he would not be a trophy pet or avatar pet if I we're chosen. I love draiks to death because there dragons- I'm not a fantasy buff, but I do love the design potential dragons have. Trust me, if Draiks suddenly became free, I'd buy seven and rejoice. Actually, that would be nice, because then… well, then there is a lot of people to role play with and they wont be trophy pets any longer. The fact he's royal is loved, but not the main reason. I would apply for him even if he wasn't. He's a draik… who wouldn't? Well, hopefully that's a good, honest enough explanation.
Design
Xaidao has a very regal, and distinguished design as well as a bit… beat up as a sign of his less formable, previous life. He's a proud thing, always keeping his head high, using his strength and durability as useful tools in handling life. He has a lean, thin build but is long with a traditional, lizard-like tail tipped with plumed white hair. His 'hands' or 'feet' are actually paws and hooves. The forelegs end in the paws, the back legs hooves. He has a soft, blue-slate gray hue coloring him richly and that mixed with the silvery main is very regal. His mane is more like a bang pushed over his right eye, which after the bang shifts to short, stubby hair that goes just past the ears along his neck. He has a blue stone set into his forehead, with a gold, metal lining placed to keep the stone from moving. He'd been born with the gemstone, which would have given him praise if it weren't for his other… deformities.
He wears several pieces of jewelry, also- a golden necklace which in the center is placed yet another gemstone, similar to the blue. This though changes colors to the skin of the draik. Among the tribe where Xaidao is from, they believed that Michöth'as rock was a picture into there future. Michöth'as was basically a moodstone. They'd give them to there young, and there normal-color would predict what they would be like when they we're older. Mood, best talents, nature, etcetera. His was normally green. You can find out more about the Michoth'as stones in his story, which will be told later on.
His jewelry is always consistent. He always where's the same jewelry, and several gold pieces on his arms and one or two on his tail. Xaio has three different-sized spots just above the back legs, as well as a thick line that goes along his back.
Michöth'as
The Michoth'as stones are regal, long held traditions among Xaidao's people. After a draik was born, it's parents would wait until it could walk, then giving it one of the regal stones. They we're moodstones, changing colors by the feel of the skin. That they represent actual mood is a myth, but all of the dragon kith can understand them better. They perfected it, getting the exact mood, the exact reaction.
The young draik's were given the stones in a small ceremony between mother, father, and son, normally witnessed by an Elder. The youngling was awarded the stone by it's mother, who held a Michoth'as stone in her mouth, and touched it against his heart. This would 'awaken' the stone, at it's first touch of skin, to start attempting to change to colors at the feel of the air. That would make the color it took on at the touch of the draik's skin more accurate. Then the father would take a gold, silver, or bronze necklace and reward it to the draik, putting it over the younglings head. The youngling would nervously wait as the mother placed the stone in the center of the necklace, then touch her nose to it, closing her eyes. The stone, for no known reason, would then stay in place for eternity, the only way to take it from the necklace would be to destroy said necklace.
The stone would then change to a color, and persistently stay there. The elder would announce the color. Then the father, mother, and elder would wait two hours. If it did not change, the elder would claim his color.
Some of the colors went as so:
Purple – Passionate and Patient, this draik would be a kind and gentle learner who would do the right thing, as would support dreams.
Blue – Wise and Tranquil, this draik would be eager to learn and serene, waiting out what ever came as it would surely be better. The calmer of colors.
Red - Impatient and Stubborn, this draik would be a strong and powerful leader though he would also be the soul of chaos, both too impatient to wait and too stubborn to change.
Green - Envious and Determined, this draik would be ruled with silent battles and confusion, but be determined to do what he or she thought right, whether or not it was. It would also make them careless of consideration and they would act before thinking out the truth.
Pink – Curious and Careless, this draik would be fascinated with other worlds and causes, though uncertain or incapable of feeling the emotion of capturing. Blunt but persuasive, they have a good heart, but dislike complicating things and prefer easier, closer paths.
Black – Dark and Destructive, this draik would be incapable of the true, deeper emotions and blind-sighted. Should be killed.
White – Loyal and Naïve, this draik would be a grand leader though perhaps a bit too blind-sighted with goals that aren't reached, and not as watchful as perhaps should be. Left alone and unguided, dangerous combo, but with a good heart and a prospective future.
Gray – Death, this draik is incapable of emotion and set in apathy. This color is also taken by those who have died.
Xaidao, for example, was green. A bit surprising, seeing as his actual gemstone was blue. Not many dragons have gemstones, but- ah- that will be explained later.
Draik's would after this be considered, and if there stone was Gray or Black they would kill the youngling. The colors were not made public until five hours later, in which time, if Gray or Black, the draik would then be killed instead of announced. It was a sad time, but it was normally predicted they would be killed if such, as draik's we're a beast of superstition. Though as maternal instincts are praised among them, mothers are aloud to save there offspring and leave the tribe, but normally they would die or be rejected. A stronger mother though would remain with her tribe, and simply morn the death as there
Draik's sickness, and hope that they'd come back in another life, one more pleasant and less… hopeless.
It was a sad, bad decision, but it was a law they abided. You could still gain respect even if a lesser respected color- such as red, white, or green would cause doubt upon you in youth. White, when older, normally by then had learned to be stronger and, as said, leaders. Green and red never did improve much, but ah, so was life.
