 Welcome to 1942 guest! What the confetti cake is this place you might be asking? Since October 1, 2009, 1942 is a petpage or site if you will, that offers high quality graphics, helpful resources, and beautiful petpages. 1942 is run soley by wishco. You can call me Kailey if you'd like. :P I'm 14 years old, and I am a freshman in high school. I spend most of my free time on Neopets, either adding new content or updating. Why did I name my site 1942? First, I just love the sound of it. 1942. There's something about it that sticks to you. Anyway, the year 1942 is very important in history. Anne Frank started to keep her diary in 1942, the United Nations was formed and signed by 26 countries, and the United States started to use Daylight Savings Time. I'll stop the history lesson now, and let you browse. I hope you find something you like!

November 21, 2009-I am currently looking for more affiliates. If you have sent an application and did not get a reply, please re-send it. I accidently deleted some neomails. I'm not sure when I will stop looking for affiliates, but for now, apply if you have a good quality site! :)

November 17, 2009- I changed the site layout today. Like it? I know I do! :)

November 03, 2009- I added a new tutorial on how to remove the Neopets ad on the top of petpages and also some icons.

November 02, 2009- I changed the site layout. It is really simple and I love the darker teal colors. I will be adding content tomorrow!

October 31, 2009- HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

October 27, 2009- I added a new affiliate and some new petpage layouts.

October 24, 2009- I added live previews for all of the petpage layouts.

October 23, 2009- No school today! I'll be adding a lot of stuff throughout the day today, so check back! I've also added someone to the W.O.S. Really? Seriously people, is it that hard to leave the credits how they are? I added userlookup layouts!

October 17, 2009- Whoa. I haven't updated in awhile! I've been really busy with school, so sorry, REQUESTS ARE CLOSED!

October 13, 2009- New banner for the site layout! I am absolutely in love with this one! I finished 2 requests today, 1 set of buttons and a banner. I'm still working on the contests.

October 12, 2009- Stay tuned to see a CONTEST section of 1942. If you are a button maker, you will love the upcoming contests.

October 11, 2009- I completed A LOT of requests today. Button requests are popular. =D

October 10, 2009- I'm the featured site at Soroptimist Directory! I also added 4 new affiliates! Nothing new today content wise, but expect new content tomorrow!

October 9, 2009- I'm going to tweek the layout a bit today, so keep revisiting to see what I've done. (: [edit] I added a banner. It might look familiar. =P I also finished a total of 5 requests and added Hello Fascination and Fingerprints as affiliates. [/edit]

October 8, 2009- After numerous complaints about the site layout, I have changed it once again. This time, I used a premade from KTL CSS and I edited it to be more my style. That way, I KNOW it works in all browsers. [edit] I added a request section. [/edit]

October 7, 2009- I put up the vintage petpage layouts. They were suppose to have a different color for the first letter in the header, but the stupid filters blocked it. Let me know what you think about them! I also added some more resources.

October 6, 2009- I added another banner, as well as button bases. Check them out and tell me what you think! (:

October 5, 2009- Today I added some new petpage layouts, and I am working on a vintage style of layouts. I can't wait to put them up!

October 4, 2009- I made a new site layout because I didn't like the old one, and I'm not so sure about this one. It's my favorite, but it isn't compatible in any other browser but Internet Explorer.

October 3, 2009- I made and added some banners, petpage layouts, and resources.

October 2, 2009- I added some petpage layouts and made 2 link back buttons.

October 1, 2009- Woohoo! 1942 is now officially open. I made a site layout, and that's about it... I need to add some content.

» Removing the petpage ad banner

Completely Removing the ad

 Have you ever wondered how to get rid of the ugly black and yellow neopets advertisement on petpages? Look at the top of this page. It's gone right?! It's really simple.

STEP ONE: Put the following code in between your style tags.


STEP TWO: Take a look at the code. Do you see where it says : url('BACKGROUNDURL') #COLOR; ? This changes the color of the ugly yellow. You can insert a background URL into it OR a color (Ex. White or #ffffff). If you choose to use the background URL, delete #COLOR. If you choose to use the #COLOR, delete the words BACKGROUNDURL.

STEP THREE: The only way to make the code work is to put the following code at the end of your style tags. Keep it exactly the way it is.


STEP FOUR: You might notice that you have a scroll bar going to the left to the right. To simply remove it, copy and paste this code in between your style tags.


That's it! Your done! If this helped you, I would greatly appreciate a link back, so other people can figure out how to remove their sidebar. It is not required though. (:
