There are many different methods you can consider when choosing a petpet/petpetpet for your pet. Since every Neopet is different, there isn't only one way of picking!

• Color Matching

EXAMPLE

For a good primary color match for the baby Bruce, I might suggest this:

A pink Miamouse catches both the light pink and the tanish color, it is also cute like the bruce.

For a secondary color match I might suggest this:

A plushie Kookith catches all the secondary colors (yellow from beak/feet, red from bow and blue from eyes)

Or you could just go and try to match as many colors as you can, usually theres not many choices in this area but there is this for the baby Bruce:

The plushie Angelpuss catches the pink yellow/light yellow, and the red.

• Species Matching

Species matching is another fun way of finding a petpet for your pet. It's pretty self-explanitors so lets see some examples:

Blumaroo, Baby Blu

• Pose/FaceMatching

This is another cool way of matching a petpet with your pet. The colors don't always match but they look pretty cute together. This form of matching is mostly obsolete now due to converted pets all posing the same, but if you have an unconverted pet, you can take this into mind when choosing the perfect petpet.

EXAMPLE OF POSE MATCHING

Not only is the Faerie Kadoatie a pose match for the Faerie Ashia but it is also a species & Color match! What a pair! One of my favs.

EXAMPLE OF FACE MATCHING

The Chias have the same face emotion as the chezoom hehe. Although their colors are a lot different this is a cute factor to consider when looking for your dream petpet for your pet. This is also a bit obsolete now due to customization, but I will leave this section here for you to ponder on.

• Opposite Matching

This can be alot of fun to try if it's what you're into! Here's an example to start your creative juices flowing:

Hehe putting a happy/bright colored petpet with a grey pet is funny. I love the smiley with the grey Wocky or any grey pet for that matter.

• Theme Matching

Theme matching is cool, especially if your pet is a hard one to match up any of the other ways.

Yum, a Mutant Lenny looks like it would love an Intesteen for lunch!


kmc244 told me about this great theme match. Match any royal girl pet with a Mortog for a whole "kiss the frog to turn it into a prince" theme. A super cute idea ^.^


duckylover221 brought this theme to my attention, the whole "Wolf in sheep's clothing" idea, not to mention the cute little Babaa looks so funny with the big bad Werelupe

You can also match your petpet to your pet depending on the personality you've set/written for it, but since there is no set personalities, it varies from pet to pet so I do not have any examples.

Ok here are a few things you can keep in the back of your brain if you still need help picking the purrrfect petpet (even on a tight budget!).

Many people think that because they painted their Neopet a certian color they now have to rush out and buy a Pet Pet Paintbrush of the same kind to match. Yes a petpet painted the same color as your pet might look nice, but there are many other options to consider that may look just as good if not better! Let us look at the faerie Buzz:
