The Neo Project || Application Guidelines & Examples
Introduction
Applicants often ask us what we expect from applications or what it takes to be accepted into The Neo Project. As a guild, we have put together the following guidelines and examples that we hope applicants will find to be helpful during this process. The Guidelines
1) The portfolio templates are designed to help you get started, but just filling it in is not enough. We like to see that applicants have put time and effort into creating their portfolios.2) Make your portfolio unique to yourself. Let your personality show through so we can see what separates you from every other applicant. You can change the colors or background to show some originality or create your own layout, but most importantly, be original with your content. You can change the sections to what works for you, write in your own personal style, etc.
3) We are a goal-oriented guild, so it is always nice to see some sort of goals on your portfolio. This doesn't have to be a typical set of goals such as make 10k a day. You can have an art portfolio with art-related goals instead, for example. Setting some real-life goals on your portfolio is also fine, but we are primarily interested in your goals for the site.
4) Set realistic long-term and short-term goals. Include details about how and when you plan to achieve them. For example, if one of your goals is to earn 100k, you could write a plan of how you will earn neopoints and how many you plan to earn each week until you reach this goal.5) Telling us about how active you intend to be and what you feel you could contribute to The Neo Project is helpful to us when reviewing your portfolio.
6) Your portfolio should be organized, neat, and readable. Check your spelling, punctuation, and grammar before submitting it for review.
7) Don't be afraid to ask questions. You can always stop by our guild recruiting board or neomail a guild member with any questions you have. While guild members are not able to tell you if your application would be accepted or not, we are happy to give you any advice we have.
8) Save your portfolio coding in another location as often as possible. You want to make sure that if something were to ever happen to the petpage or coding, it is saved elsewhere for a quick recovery.9) Stay safe. Even though TNP is a private guild and a safe place, keep in mind that anything you put on your portfolio is public.
10) Have fun with it! Having fun is the whole point of Neopets, after all.
Examples of Accepted Portfolios
The following portfolios are examples of portfolios that have already been accepted into The Neo Project. Please click the picture for each to check them out.EXAMPLES ARE BEING REVAMPED!
Examples of Rejected Portfolios
The following portfolios are examples of portfolios that would not be accepted into The Neo Project. Please click the picture for each to see a live example. Read below the picture for details as to why each would be rejected.
This is another example of a portfolio being rejected because only the bare minimum is filled out. The About Me section has very little information, and it doesn't give us an idea of who you are. While this portfolio does have 14 goals, all there is a list of them, and that's not enough. There's no information about them, no game plan of how you'll achieve them, no update on your progress, etc. And the Guild Goals section is almost completely blank.
