Welcome to my second guide! :) This guide is for the Stock Market. The Stock Market can bring in huge money.

What is the Stock Market?

The Stock Market is where companies let you buy parts of there company for a price. This is called a share. When you buy stock you have to buy per share. The most you can buy in a 24 hr. time period is 1,000 on Neopets.

Pros and Cons of the Stock Market

There is good and bad things about the Stock Market. Just like anything else of course. A good thing about the Stock Market is that there is not much work needed. Just a lot of patience. If you ever get bored of Neopets, it is pretty easy to do just come on everyday and buy stock. Then you can get off. Once you are rich, you will probably want to play Neopets again. I wouldn't blame you :P

A bad thing about the Stock Market, is that it takes a lot of time and patience. You might get bored of doing it and feel that you are never going to make money because once you see a stock on the rise, it falls right back down again. Well what you need to do is think of it like this. If a stock falls down, then that means there is a chance it will get to a reasonably low price. (Hopefully 15) Then you can buy more stock and just keep buying until the price shoots up finally. Then you will make an even bigger profit!

Getting to the Stock Market

So all this talk about the Stock Market has made you want to go and try it out. The problem is, you can't find the thing :( Well here is where you go. Go the the "Games" section of Neopets. Click "more" on the Luck/Chance games. Then scroll down and look on the right hand side of the page and scroll down. You should see a picture that looks exactly like the picture at the top of this page. When you find that, click it.

Finding Stocks

Now you want to buy some stock and start on your way to making lots of Neopoints. Well, here is what you do. When you are on the Stock Market page, you should see something that looks like this:

What you need to do is click, "Find Stocks". When the screen comes up, you should see this:

What you want to do is click "here". This will bring you to the whole page of stocks. Now you are going to want to look through this whole list and see which stock you want to buy. On the page you will see (from left to right); Logo, Ticker, Company, Volume, Open, Curr, Change. Here is what each of those things mean and an example of what you will see.

Stock Information

So here are the names I listed above and exactly what they mean.

Logo - The logo is a picture that helps you remember which stocks are which. This helps a lot more in your portfolio. After you have been in the Stock Market for a couple months or ever a year or two, you will have lots of different stocks. Logos will help sort them out.

Ticker - The ticker also helps sort out the stocks in your portfolio. The ticker is used to find stocks that you want to buy too. Say you know a stock that you have is at a reasonable buying price, you can type the ticker on the page before you click "here" and then click on the stock name on the next page. Then buy your stock :) This is also the abbreviation for the company's full name.

Company - Company, like I said above, is the full name. This however, does not show up in your portfolio. This can't help you sort out your stocks in there. You will need to learn the tickers and there logos to help sort stocks out in your portfolio.

Volume - The volume is all the stocks bought in this company for the day so far. Usually stocks that are at 15-18 buying price(Curr) will have a lot of volume. This can help you decide who has bought which stock and which stocks you should buy for the day.

Open - Open means what the stock started at for the day. Whatever the stock is at when the neopets clock hits 12:00, that's the Open for the day. Depending on the Open of the stock, changes the "Change" of the stock.

Curr - Curr. also stands for "Current". This is the current price the stock is at. This means if you were to buy the stock, you would pay that many NP's per share. This also changes the "Change" of a stock.

Change - The change of a stock means just that. The percent change of a stock from the Open price to Current price. If the Open price is greater than the Current price, the percent chage will be negative. If the Open price is less than the Current price, the percent change will be positive. This can be a good and a bad thing. Good if you are wanting that stock to get higher so you can sell. Bad if you want it to go down so you can buy it.

Portfolio Information

So here is some basic information about your stock portfolio and what everything means. To get to your stock, in the little bar with all your links, click "My Portfolio". Here are the words you will see from left to right; Icon, Ticker, Open, Current Price, Chg, Qty, Paid, Mkt Value, % Change.

Icon - This is the same thing as Logo. They just gave it a different name in your protfolio.

Ticker - This is the same thing as above. The abbreviation for the company name. Under the ticker though, in parenthesis, you can (profile). This will let you quickly sell the stock that you clicked profile for.

Open - This, again, is the same thing as before. The Opening price of the Stock at the beginning of the day.

Current Price - This is what Curr. was. It is the current price of the stock. That way you know either to buy, sell, or hold. Hold means to not sell but to keep it until a selling point :)

Chg - Now this change is a little different. As you see there is also % change. This change is the change for the day. It doesn't show in percent but rather in a whole number. It rounds it up. This tells you the change of the Open over the Current.

Paid - Paid is how much you paid for all of the stocks of that company. For example if you bought 3k stocks in AAVl at 15np each, the Paid would 45,000.

Mkt Value - This stands for Market Value. Market Value is how much it would sell for if you sold all of your stocks in a specific company at one time.

% Change - This means Percent Change. This is the overall percent change of all your stocks put together. Not like on the stocks list. That shows that stock for the day. This shows the overall percent change of ALL your stocks in a specific company.

Buying Stocks

So you found the Stock Matrket, you know what the Stock Market is and now you want to buy them :) Well you are looking at the right spot.

Before you go off buying tons of random stocks, be sure to look at the stock history. It will be towards the bottom of the page under Stock Report Card..

When you want to buy a stock, make your way to the stock list and look through all the stocks until you find one that the current is 15 or 16. If none are 15 or 16 then you can either wait until later or buy one for 17 or 18. I would suggest on waiting. It is better to buy stock at 15. That is the minimum amount you can buy stocks at per share. I would say buy all 1000 of that one stock that day. That way you can rack up on that stock. You can also do 500 of one or 500 of the other if you want. Remember! You can only buy 1000 stock per day!

Selling Stocks

So now you want to sell the stock because one of your stocks has shot out the roof? Well here is how you do it!

First things first, go to your portfolio and find the stock you want to sell. Under the ticker, click (profile). Then put the number of stocks you want to sell in the box. You can sell as many stocks as you want in a day. Just remember that Nigel the Chia charges a 20NP commission fee. That is when you sell your stock, he charges neopoints for you to sell your stock. It's not a big deal though because by the time you sell your stock, you will have pulled in a couple 100k to a million neopoints. So 20np isn't a big deal :) Before you sell though, you are going to want to have a selling point. For starters, you might want to have a little bit of a lower selling point so you can make some money. Lets say 45-50 is your selling point. Once a stock hits 45, wait and see if it goes any higher. If it gets higher, keep waiting. If it gets higher and goes lower, you can either sell or chance it and see if it goes back up. Sometimes you will sell and then the next thing you know that stock shoots through the roof and tops at 70np a share. That would be horrible. :( There is also another strategy you can do. You can sell some or half of the shares and then wait and see what happens. If it starts going up and up and up, you're in good business. If it starts going down, you might want to sell the rest. It's up to you. Once you get more experienced with the Stock Market and made some money, you can raise your sell point. The reason for this is so you can work on your portfolio. You want to have a huge portfolio. With a higher sell point, you can do this. Lets say now you are only going to sell stocks once they hit atleast 70np per share. A lot of times it will be hard for a stock to hit that. Once it does however, you will have loads of stock in that company and then you will rake in TONS of money. Remember, it's all up to you.
