Introduction
By: Laser
Some say the age of dinosaurs has past, that their time has come to an end. Maybe their reign has, but not their existence. It is true I am not at the top of the food chain anymore but that has not stopped me. You, traveler, came here for a reason and it is to learn something isn't it? I will gladly tell you my tale. This all takes place well before we were known as Krawks, Grarrls, or even Korbats. The rest, Fire will tell.
The Day Things Changed
Laser had her home nestled amongst the trees not far from a river. It was the perfect spot with plenty of food around and a steady supply of water. She figured it was only a matter of time before she was challenged for it. One morning she woke up to the rampaging footsteps of an invading Spinosaurus. She leaped to her feet only to be slammed to the ground by the aggressor, luckily landing on her stomach and not her sail. She snapped at his feet, thoroughly slashing a foot open. He sidestepped, limping on his now useless foot. Laser took the opportunity to launch her own attack, latching onto his throat. She quickly over came the lame dinosaur, and ended his attack.
She left him where he had fallen, going to the river for a refreshing drink. The water was clear and cool that morning, giving off a calm feeling. Laser stood there, listening to the water flow when there was a loud crack and tremor that shook the land. In a matter of a few seconds the land heaved and shook, sending Laser into the flowing river. She thrashed at first, surprised by the sudden change. She regained her thoughts and focused about keeping her head above water.
Once the tremors stopped, the river calmed down and Laser finally got out. She shook off and took a few deep breaths. She looked around, not believing what she saw. Everything around her was dead, a strange dust covering the bodies. A strange smell covered the land, like nothing she has smelled before. She reasoned the dust must have had something to do with this. Everything that it covered did not move, but she did because she was in the river, a place where the dust was just washed away.
Laser tried to tell the survivors, those who were faraway from the dust onslaught_ but no one would listen to a predator. No one trusted her. She went back to her home, curiosity getting the better of her. The dust was everywhere, but did not harm those who walked on it. It's deadly effect must have worn off, only deadly when it first appeared.
She found the remains of the one she bested. It felt like years ago, and even looked like it happened years ago. A skeleton lay beneath the tress. Laser could not explain but accepted it. She picked the up the skull, and now wears it. She claims now it is to show what she survived, both the encounter with the other dinosaur and the dust.

The Dust
Laser wandered aimlessly, taking in her new surroundings. It all seemed familiar, but so different at the same time. All around things were covered in a weird yellow dust. It had no smell and its deadly affect seemed to have worn off since she was still walking.
One day she came across a crater that must of spanned a good mile across. Down in the center she could see what looked like a meteor. It was colored a dull brown, the yellow dust piled up around its bottom. 'So this is where it has all come from' she thought to herself. She shook her head and made up her mind to get as far from this place as she could, as far from the dust as possible.
She never noticed how the other dinosaurs all stared at her, just like they never noticed how she stared at them. She did not look on thinking of the meal she could have, she looked on in awe. All the survivors looked different, changed in some way. Laser finally got the courage to look at herself in a pool of water and was shocked by what she saw.
She was young for a Spinosaurus, so she knew her color would be bright compared to the older of her species, but nothing like this. Her color was bright orange, her stripes a little darker. She noticed she had extra sails on her tail as well, and was surprised she never felt them grow. She swished her tail watching them move with her.
So this was the other affect the dust had once it landed. She figured it was from all of it that she had breathed in investigating her new surroundings. Inwardly, she wondered what other affects it had.

A New Friend
Years pass, and Laser notices how long it has been since that day the meteor fell. And yet, she did not seem any older. Laser threw her head in agitation, 'Just how much more is there to discover about this dust?' she thought to herself.
After all this time she was beginning to feel alone, like she was the only one even though there were clearly others around her. But, there was no one like her. All the predators seemed to have gone into hiding, or had just moved on, the thought of mutated prey not sounding appealing to them.
One day this all changed. She across the one she now calls Comet. Comet was a young Velociraptor when she came upon him. Small for his species, he was having a hard time surviving in this new era. Laser took pity on him and decided to help him out and they have been together since. Comet does not have any new features from the dust, but he does have the long life associated with it.
