Larysa, Moon and Star Watcher

In the Forest...

You cannot remember how you got there, but you find yourself walking through some dense trees. The silver moon is shining its glory for the world to see and the stars are dancing in the sky. You hear the sound of rushing water in the distance, making you realize how dry your throat is. Hurriedly you begin to run towards the sound of water, stumbling and tripping over yourself as you do, trying to get there quickly. Finally, you're out of the dense trees! You've come upon a clearing in the middle of the forest, and then you spy with you've been after. Water! Your pace quickens as you try to get to the stream, emptying into a pond. Once you've reached there, which seemed to take hours, you sink to your knees in the swaying emerald grass and cup your hands, bringing them swiftly into the water so that you can drink. For a long while you kneel there, drinking as much water as you can. Once you've had your fill, you look up. What you see before you is a white mare, and she stands before you with a dignified yet somehow hurt stance. Her pink mane and tail are long and smooth, and her wings are neat and precise.
Why are you here?" she asks you, her ears perked intently towards you. You can see she means no harm.
I'm lost and thirsty. I just came here for a drink," you reply. "Who are you, anyway?"
I am Larysa, and this is my forest, my home. I have lived here since before the stars were in the sky and before there was a moon."
Really?" you ask with an unbelieving air to your voice. "No one can live that long."
And I have not lived for all that time," she says, not taking your disbelief to heart. "Come, you will hear my tale."
Without another word, the mare motions for you to follow her into some trees. You do, and she motions for you to sit on a stump. And then she begins her story.

The Tale

."The night was cold and stormy, and no moon and stars were in the sky. Everything was pitch black. Now, the moons of planets and stars have existed for millions upon millions of years. And in a former life as another creature, I made them visible to the planet, which we are on. At times I thought I had created them, but that wasn't so. I made them brighter and made new stars and moons, but most of them were all ready there. However, I knew I could create new moons and stars at any time I wished, but I cannot go into that now. All I can tell you is that for making the moon and stars visible to the planet, they granted me the title of 'Moon and Star Watcher' in my past life, and it carried through with me to the next life.
Do you know, bfm12, what the world is like for an abandoned foal? I should hope you do not, for it is a cruel world, and I hope that any foal that should have to brave the world on their own has luck on their side. I was abandoned right after I was born, and I never knew whom my parents were. I just knew I was here for a purpose, and that purpose I must fulfill. In the rain, I took my first wobbly steps after many failed attempts, and when I could walk, I walked under a tree; this was forest I was in. I wandered about the trees, calling for my mother or father, or any adult that would take me to no avail. What I did find was water running, and when I curiously followed it to its source, I found a large clearing and a pond. But, it was still raining, so I ducked back under the trees and continued looking for someone to care for me.
It was then that I came across the rubble and smoke from a palace, recently burned to the ground. Luckily, the rain had put the fire out so that it didn't spread through the forest. There was no one there; I now assume that either everyone had left the palace or the place was abandoned, but at that time I didn't know anything. A short ways off there was a horseshoe shaped wall, old and crumbling. I found a small sort of cave thing created by the blocks to rock that has fallen down, and I was able to rest in there for the rest of the night.
Don't ask me how I survived my first year; I guess luck was just on my side. But as I grew, I learned how to survive in the forest and the dangers in it, though predators were few. When I was fully grown, I decided the forest needed a name. So I gave it the name, "Moonlight Forest", after the irony that there was no moon shining when I was born.
One day, though, I found a black chain in the dirt of the old palace grounds that had somehow survived the fire. So I put it around my neck. But I felt it needed decoration, so I flew as high as I could. Being able to create moons and stars means I am able to fly in space and survive. When I flew by the moon, a piece of it, shaped like a crescent, was chipped off by moon hoof on accident. I caught the piece and put it on the chain; it looked nice to me. Little did I know it held magic. When I landed and look in the pond to see my reflection, it just fit.
After a while and after meeting new unis I grew tired of the loneliness of the forest. And I grew tired of always being by myself. So I decided that I would found a herd there, in the forest, to call my own. And since the forest was called Moonlight Forest, the herd was called Moonlight Herd.
Again, do not ask how I got members, it still kind of confuses me today. I guess some would wander by the forest and decide to stay.
And for every tale that seems almost perfect, mine has a flaw. I met two stallions, both of whom I loved. But I couldn't pick between the two. But one of the stallions lost his memory of love, and I knew I shouldn't remind him of me; it would only bring him, me, and the other stallion more pain. When the other stallion asked me to be his mate, I told him I needed more time. He, frustrated, ran off and I didn't see him again for a long while. When he did come back, he asked me again and I accepted his offer immediately. And so there were even more problems. He left my herd and begged me to join the one he had founded. By then I knew my purpose was to lead this herd that I had, I couldn't in good conscious leave them. Miles separated us for a long time, when I receive horrible news from a ghostly messenger. He was dead, by his own hand. It is still taking its toll on me, and I haven't quite recovered.
But there is still light in my life. And you will find out about this, later on.

And now my tale ends until more has happened in my life. Thank you, bfm12, for listening."

Family

."I was abandoned as a foal. I don'tknow who my parents are, or if they're even still alive. I don't know ifI have any sibilings. But I do consider my herd to be a family, and that's enough for me."

My Shadow

."I found Juniper a while agoand now she's been following me around for a while. She's a snowbunny with blue markings, and I've never seen anything like them before. At first I tried to convince her to go her won way, but she just wouldn't do it. So now she lives in a secret warren she dug in my herd's territory, away from where unis might step in it and hurt themselves. She only comes out to visit occasionally, so it's a rarity to see her."
As if to prove the mare wrong, a white rabbits with blue makrings comes darting out of the bushes and looks up at you curiously. She then hops over to Larysa and flops down beside her, obviously very relaxed and not thinking you are a threat. You laugh and the mare moves on to a diffirent subject.

Moonlight Herd

."We, right now, are in the Moonlight Forest. This is also the place where my herd resides. The equines are anything but ordinary, believe me! I founded this herd and I am the leader of it. It's a very nice herd, despite some of the drama that has occured. But I wouldn't trade it for anything."

Friends

."Friends... I have so many it's hard to list them all! My friends know who they are, and we'd never have enough time for me to get through the list. I'm sorry. But maybe you'll happen to stumble by them in the wrold one of these times."

Love

."Are you in love?" you ask curiously.
The mare nodds sheepishly and blushes. "Yes, I am. His name is Ekki. I never thought I would love again, but he proved me wrong. He's just perfect, in my mind. I'll always love him; he is the light in my life.
Actually, it's an odd story of how we found out we liked each other. He had taken me to this beautiful place in the forest only he knew about. It was simply amazing. He then told me I was the first one he had brough there. I didn't know why he would bring me there first; surely there was some other he'd rather bring? I asked him why, and he confessed how he loved me. Then I told him how I loved him, too, and, well... the rest is history.
I had loved another before him. But that other is dead, and it was a bitter story. Now I only care for Ekki. If that other were to come back, I wouldn't give him a second thought. Ekki is the only one for me, I know that now."

Enemies

The mare sighs when she begins this. "I really hate having enemies... I much prefer to be friends with equines. However, some don't see eye to eye with me..."

Ser: "I really have no clue why this mare hates me so much. Honestly. I was just passing through and she wants me to fight her. I refused; I hate fighting, and try to avoid it. And now everything I do is mocked by her. I don't understand it." The mare shakes her head. "I'd be willing to try and be her friend, but she makes it so difficult..."
Starstruck: "This stallion I really do hate! The nerve of him! I wish he would just let me be, I haven't the time for his stupidity."

Moon and Star Watcher

."You said something earlier, when you told me your story. You said that you were a Moon and Star Watcher. What is that?" you inquire to the mare. She smiles.
."A Moon and Star Watcher, such as myself, is one who makes sure that the stars keep their glow. If a star should die, Moon and Star watchers replace them. If a star glows too dim, we help them shine brighter. If a new planet comes, we make sure it has as many moons as it needs. Basically, we make sure night keeps it's beauty. And for that, we are rewarded. If I were to die, I would be allowed to come back until I decide I no longer wanted to, thanks to the stars."

Adoptables

."I have little gifts I give to unis who visit my page and would like one. They are little miniatures of them. But those who want one must obey my rules. They cannot steal them, they cannot enter then in any contest what-so-ever, they cannot alter them (the image or the code), and they must enjoy them! Others must not take one that is not made for them, or enter them in any contest! I need to know what the uni looks like to make one, also. Would you like to see one?"

(These have transparent backgrounds and only customs are made!)

."If you would like one of your uni, please just ask. I would be glad to make you one to look like your uni!"

Gifts

."Many wonderful people have given me lovely little miniatures of me. I wanted to display them here."

Masterpieces

."While I love it when people draw pictures of me, I get so many, it's hard to keep up! I love every picture drawn of me so much, that I fear to display them on here due to art thieves. So I'm sorry, but I do not display them here anymore. Feel free to still send them to me, though. I still love them!"

Moon Awards

."I have trophies that I give out to other unis across the lands on their pages. I call them the Moon Awards. I judge based on the layout of the page, and how intresting it is. All unis are welcome to apply! Here is what they look like:

."So if you would like one, don't be afriad to apply!"

Awards

."Some have liked this place so much, they have given it trophies. I'm very flattered, I can't believe anyone would think so much of my little space! Thank you very much!"

Farewell

Time has passed. The mare has told you all she will. Finally, you decide to go home. The mare guides you to the edge of the forest, and then gallops away into the depth of the trees. But fallen on the ground is one thing that you may use to return when you wish. Do you accept it?
