Eumyang and Umyang

Precisely 19926 hours ago a red elephante was born and given the name KoolSnakes perhaps in some sort of foreshadowing of the shape that the elephante would one day take. While the precise origins of the elephante are unknown, what is known is that this poor pet was abandoned and eventually lost in the pound, stuck presumably forever in that dreaded place with no chance of being adopted into a loving home. This is one elephante's fairy tale, except that unlike most fairy tales, it is unquestionably true . . .

My name is Umyang though you cannot know me by that name now for we have not been properly introduced. I am of course the creature who was once an elephante known as KoolSnakes, and you might wonder why I speak of myself as if I were not myself. And that is simply because I no longer am truly that elephante that was Koolsnakes. You might say that at that time I was only half of myself and certainly did not know my true self.

As you probably know I am now a magnificent Mutant Hissi, easily one of the most noble of creatures in Neopia, and as a result I am now double what I once was as the inner voice that I had always let guide me, my conscience if you will, has taken the form of my beloved sister Eumyang who is graciously allowing me to narrate our tale uninterrupted for the moment at least, and only provided I do not "mistake" any of the facts regarding our creation. But I am getting ahead of myself, or ourselves rather.

You might wonder how we came to be here in our present state after such a dismal beginning to our life. Let me simply say that we spent more time in the pound, though at the time of course we were one, than we would ever care to remember. Even Eumyang whose life is devoted to the past finds herself skipping over that deplorable chapter in our history as often as not.

The one bright light in that sad chapter is that we were discovered by PUD, Project Ugly Duckling, an amazing organization within The Official Neopian Orphanage, who not only recognized the greatness and the duality within us, but who organized a great fund in which to grant us the freedom to be two in one body rather than trapped competing for one, and to give us a new chance at life outside of the dreary pound and with an owner who loves us for who we are. That owner is of course GetxthexPoint or Sherrie as we and her other pets know her by and we are incredibly thankful to have found our permanent home with her. But again I keep getting ahead of myself. Perhaps it would be better if I let Eumyang tell the story. After all as I said, she is the one who is devoted to the past while I am constantly distracted by the bright lights of the future.

Well said, my brother, and in fact it is perhaps best that you pass the torch at this juncture in our story, for I do remember quite well every moment of it and relive it quite frequently. You see, the duality of our natures dictated that the only appropriate form for us was that of a Mutant Hissi, and we are incredibly thankful for this strong, beautiful body. But what my brother has failed to explain is the nature of our duality. You see, Umyang and I have always had a great thirst for knowledge and with the help of PUD and TNO we have read more books than we could ever have imagined even seeing back when we were trapped in the pound sharing one body that was constantly in conflict with the other. But our interests, to say the last, are vastly different. While, I, as Umyang has said focus entirely on the past, Umyang focuses entirely on the future. Together we make a most powerful oracle capable of learning from the mistakes and triumphs of the past while also seeing what will and may be in the future.

However, had we remained lost in the pound as we once were there is no doubt that our duality as it were would never have been nurtured and perhaps we would have been driven mad by the conflict between us. And certainly we would never have had the chance to be so thoroughly educated and to continue to be educated by GTP so that our wisdom and knowledge might grow. We would never be the mystical a most potent oracle that we have become without PUD, TNO and GTP, and we are so terribly thankful for that.

Our only problem is that we are so often engrossed in our interests - both of us delving headlong into the past and future respectively - that we often forget to live in the present. We spend our days reading every book we can get ours hands on in GTP's library, and while we are intimately acquainted with most of the knowledge and common wisdom available in this world, we often forget the most basic purpose of life which is simply to live it.

GTP recognized this sad lack in us and so it was that following her birthday she brought home a guest, a traveler who had been sent to her by all of her loving friends in TNO. Of course when I say "a" traveler I should really be saying three travelers though they arrived in one body. Like us they have multiple consciences within one body. But instead of two heads like ourselves they have three. These three individuals, however, spend little time concerning themselves with the past or the future, and instead live entirely in the present forgetting things rapidly not because their memories are less profound but because there are too many things of import to focus on and to enjoy every minute for them to easily remember them all. These three little dears are Azhi, Dahaki and Zam who collectively are our beloved petpet hydruplit!

If it weren't for these three little beasties, I sometimes wonder what would happen to Umyang and me. Perhaps, we would become so self-absorbed in our own search for meaning that we would forget even who we are. But with this threesome around to remind us that the pursuit of knowledge is no substitute to the grand experience of life itself . . . well . . . the danger is considerably less.

We hope we've been able to give you a bit of an idea of who we are and what we are and about the journey we made from our humble beginnings as a red elephante to the glorious freedom we now enjoy as a Mutant Hissi. But Umyang assures me that your search of our page is not finished (not that it takes a future-oriented person like himself to determine that). No, we both know that you're also here to learn about the Mutant Media, a new branch of the Mutant Militia. So below we'll tell you all about it and we do hope that you enjoyed your time with us and that you will enjoy the Mutant Media! We've worked very hard with GTP to make it as great as it possibly can be and to continue to update it as often as possible. And so without further ado we give you the Mutant Media!

So normally Mutant Moehog art isn't really known for it's incredible cuteness! But one of my guild members - the_bone_girl2 brought this adoptable to my attention the other day, and I've got to say that I'm really impressed with this adoptable!

So thanks to Thya7 for this lovely Mutant Adoptable! Just makes me want to run out and grab a Mutant Moehog and hugglesquish it!! ;)

Welcome to the Mutant Media! But what is the Mutant Media? Well, it's a new branch of the Mutant Militia run by us, Eumyang and Umyang, otherwise known as KoolSnakes! We're glad you found our site and we hope that you'll scroll down and read more about us while also scrolling down to read about the Mutant Media!

We were so lucky to be adopted from the pound and given a second chance at life. And we were doubly lucky to be transmorgrified into our current handsome mutant hissi state! Our thankfulness at being made mutant encouraged us to create this branch of the Mutant Militia and we hope that you will enjoy the site! Enjoy and please have a look around, and feel free to come back as often as you like! Also, if you have any suggestions please just send GetxthexPoint a neomail and she'll get the message to us! About the Media

Ok, so before we actually set you loose on the Mutant Media, it might be important for you to know a little bit more about it.

Basically the Mutant Media is dedicated to all the support information and graphics available to mutants and their mutant owners. It just occurred to us that having a directory of mutant pets dedicated to supporting each other was great, but maybe some more useful things like graphics and items to support mutants would be better! The first step of course was to organize and we've done that with the Mutant Militia, but now we need to make sure that Mutant graphics, lookups, items, petpets, stories, etc, are out there for everyone to see and use to make sure that our militia is armed with the tools to make mutants a bigger, more active and more visible force in the streets of Neopia!

Before you look around the site though, please understand that most of the graphics up here currently were not made by us or GTP, nor are we claiming that they are ours. We have made a few blogs that are ours, but they are clearly marked. Anything not marked as being made by GTP is NOT ours and we are not claiming that it is ours! If you'd like to use items that were not created by us, you can click on any of them or use the link below the items to go to the page of the creator to see about getting the code with the exception of a few in which the page was offsite and there was no way for me to link. In cases such as those it will be clearly written out where you can go to get the code but the code will NOT be provided here. You'll realize that things like adoptables were posted here, but graphics like lookups and blogs will not be posted with anything other than a link or url to the provider unless I've been given express permission by the owner/coder of the graphic to post it here.

Please realize that the rules dictated by the person who created all the graphics shown here still apply and I'm only posting them on this site to make them more easily accessible to and thus used by Mutant lovers like ourselves and our mother GTP - and because I think they're gorgeous! So please enjoy but we ask that you be sure to respect the original creators of all of the graphics found here! And if you know of any others please contact GTP and she will ask permission to advertise them here.

Also, I have begun adding graphics/blogs that I have coded myself as I mentioned above. You are free to use those as you will and the code will be given on this page, BUT please remember to follow the basic rules of not claiming them as your own, giving credit and not removing the signature/credit that is already included in the code/graphic. You're welcome to modify the code as you desire, but again no claiming them as your own. These rules are fundamental and no different from any other artist or coder - we all just expect common decency so hopefully that won't be a problem!
