You were walking around in a large open field completley lost. You didn't know how you had gotten there but you did know you wanted out. This place had a very eirie feel to it... something just wasn't right. Suddenly you noticed something very odd. A strange portal that lead to who knows were. You decided to walk through it and when you did you ended up in a very beat-up looking alleyway. You looked around only to realize you were in a city and an apparently abandoned one at that. Everything was covered in grafiti and was painted on. Most of the buildings were missing chuncks and the streets were very used looking. You also noticed that the sky was a greenish-grey color and looked rather stormy.
There was a humming noise and when you looked at the end of the alley there was a strange looking lupess humming to herself walking along. She had dark fur and was covered in strange purple and acid-green markings. She noticed you and stopped suddenly looking in your direction. A slight smile spread across her thin face and she said in a calm voice,"Wow. Never thought I'd see anyone come out of that portal, seriously. So why are you here, seriously?" You could tell by now that the lupess was obviously very young, probobly mid-teens. She also seemed to have some form of speech impediment. You answered,"I got lost and decided to try the portal. Do you know how to get back to mystery island?" She nodded her head and said simply,"Follow me." You followed her for a while looking all around the strange city,"Who are you and were are we exactly?" She grinned showing her sharp teeth and said in a calm tone,"My name's Klonaa and tecnicaly this place dosn't exist."
So ya wanna know what my past was like? Well seeing as I have nothing better to do I guess I could tell ya...
When I was born I looked nothing like I do now. I was also know by the name Hikari not Klonaa. In fact I was a member of the richest most well know family in the entire city. They were known as the Haku family. The name -Haku translates to white- was actually the most acurate description of the family. Everyone in the family was an albino. Including me. But I was diffrent. Most members of my family were small and extremley well behaved. Almost rodot like. Basicaly a bunch of clones with no diffrences. I, on the other hand, was actually quite large and a very... er... uniqe individual. While everyone else was studying how to be a good, perfect little clone so that they could be 'succesful' in life, I was ditching school to explore around town. While my siblings ran around playing in the sun I would be sleeping in the shadows and alley-ways or gutters, restoring my energy so that I could sneak out at night and enjoy the night-life. Everyone in my family hated me. I knew that from the begining. I was a free soul and for some reson they just couldn't handle that. Oh if only I had known just how much they hated me...
I was nothing more than a discrace to their family in their eyes. I had become to free. I was also starting to earn a reputation for myself. Everyone saw me as 'That weird Haku child. The one that lived as a nocturnal, trouble-makeing, freak'. I was giving the family name a horrible reputation. Did I honestley care in the least? No. They didn't care for me. Why should I care for them? All I wanted was freedom. That's all I ever asked for. But it was too much for them.
One day they told me not to leave. They told me that they saw no reson for sending me out if all I was going to do was crawl into the smallest, darkest space I could find and fall asleep. So I simply decided to go back up to my room and sleep. I planned on leaveing tonight anyways. That night when I awoke I saw some building material next to my window but thought nothing of it. I jumped out and explored like I would any other night. But tonight was diffrent. As I was walking down my favorite alleyway I noticed a slight glow comming from one of the large dumpsters. I was a curious pup so I walked behind it and saw a large black portal. If it had anyone but me who found it they would have run but I didn't. For some reson I was attrected to it. I sat and starred at it for a few minutes until I heard a voice from behind me. "It is quite beautiful is it not, young Klonaa?" The voice was so beautiful but cold and dangerous at the same time. I turned my head to see a very thin but muscular solid black lupe with both eyes coverd by some crimson soaked bandages. It also had two large black wings protrudeing from its back. The creature looked scary and somehow beautiful at the same time. "Not many are able to even see it. Come to think of it, you are the only one who has been able to see either that portal or myself," the creature, who I assumed to be a female lupe, said. I simply tilted my head and asked,"Who are you? And how do you know the name my dreams use to refer to me?" I had dreams where I would be reffered to as Klonaa but I had never told anyone. How did this lupe I just me know of it? She simply grinned, revealing her yellow cracked and mishapen teeth, and replied,"Oh my dear Klonaa... I know everything about you. You yearn for freedom. I can help you my dear. I shall not ask for anything in return only your friendship and trust. They want to tame you, Klonna dear. I have seen them with my own eyes. I would hate to see such a beautiful free soul to be tamed and destroyed..." I looked on scared. Finally realizing just what those tools and meatal were to be used for. They were going to trap me! The lupess had pulled out a small necklace. It was beautiful and had a mystical feeling to it. "This is a jewel of great power, young Klonaa. It is the only one of its kind in existence! I'm giving it to you. It will guarentee your freedom. Once you become truley come and find me. I shall show you the truth of this city and the real reason your freedom scares your 'family' so much," she said walking over and placeing the necklace around my neck. The she suddenly dissapeared. Like smoke the wind blew away. I heard an erie laugh and for some reson felt extremley scared. Like something horrible was about to happen. I noticed the sun start to rise and ran as fast as I could to the mansion. If I wasn't there by the time the sun fully rose I could kiss my bum goodbye. When I got home I just sat in my room starring at the wall. I was determined not to fall asleep but eventually I sucumbed to the peace of dream-land...
I was still half asleep when I started to awake. There were no lights on and I knew that I was trapped. They really had decided to imprison me in my own home! I sat for a momment letting my eyes adjust to the lack of light. Almost instantly I was able to see just fine. I looked down to see my necklace glowing. I looked around and saw a note on the door... or where a door used to be anyways... it was just a huge nailed metal plate now. I walked over to it and started to read. My heart sunk instantly. The note was so horrible that it took me a few minuets to compltley understand what it said. 'Sorry Hikari but we can not allow you to run amuck and ruin our family name. Don't expect anything. The rest of the world thinks you died in a tragic accident last night. You shall stay here for all eternity.' was what the note read. I curled up in a tight circle and let a few tears run down my face. After a while I opend my eyes expecting to see a puddle reflecting the image of a scared young albino lupe. What I actually saw shocked me. The puddle was made of a substance I recognized almost instantly. Acid. I was crying, not tears, but acid. What kind of freak was I?
I finally calmed down enough to realize I felt... diffrent. Like more powerful or something. I also felt like I was... floating? I looked down and I was still on the floor I was just pretty much weightless. Then I rememberd. The lupe I had met yesterday had said that the stone would set me free. I started wondering and suddenly I heard a voice.Try to walk through the -blocked- Go on Klonaa. Try it. I had no idea where the voice was comming from but I decided to try it. I stuck my front paw out and it went right through the bars and glass! Was I a ghost? I looked around and saw no lifeless body. Well I wasn't a ghost so why was I able to walk through things? I don't know but I did know I was getting out of here. I jumped right through the barred window and onto the bushes outside my old room. I ran as fast as my paws would carry me away from my old home. Acid tears had started streaming from my eyes again and all I could think of was getting somewhere safe. Where was that? I didn't know. All I knew was I had to get away.
When I finally got to a distance where I could no longer see the large mansion I started headed to the 'bad' side of town. That's what people called it. It was the side where criminals usualy stayed and almost every home there was abandoned. As I got closer I could see the clean, well-treated buildings and streets turn into broken-down, abandoned buildings missing windows, doors, and some houses even had walls missing. The walls were coverd in graffiti and other random things. The streets were coverd in littler and oil, and I could see much bigger, meaner looking others looking at me strangely and I was quite young and small compared to normal people in this part of town. Even with all of this I felt strangley comfortable and safe here. It's like I belonged here. Some of the animals were looking at me strangley and some even tried to approach but for some reson as soon as they saw my necklace they would back up with a frightend look on their face. I didn't undersand why they were scared but I didn't really mind seeing as I was quite vunerable here. Once again someone approached me but this one was familiar. It was the lupe that had given me my necklace.
Why hello there, young little Klonaa. So are you ready to become truly free?" the strange lupe asked me. She stopped walking and sat down when she was about a foot away from me. I was looking up at her because at the time, even though I was the biggest in my family, I was still a good foot-and-a-half shorter than her. She grinned crookedly and warned,"If you do chose true freedom you will be given great power and eternal youth. You will be free from the world for all eternity. But you must also take into account the draw-backs. Quite a few who have gained eternal life have gone mad and there is a large chance you may end up the same. And if you do not chose to accept my offer than I can no longer help you. I will be forced to leave you here. I really do like you. You have a free spirit and are truley one of the most uniqe lupes I have ever had the pleasure to meet. After all you must be something to be able to see me and the portals in the first place. So, young dear Klonaa, which do you chose? Eternal freedom or the simple life of a mortal?" I didn't even have to think about it. I instantly jumped up and said,"I chose freedom! I don't care what I have to do to get it! It's all I've ever wanted my entire life!" The strange lupe just grinned wider and said in that beautiful, terrifying voice,"Well then follow me and be prepared.
I followed her and saw another one of those beautiful portals open up in front of us. She walked right in and I slowly decided I had to go in. I was a bit hesitant, though. The portal may be pretty but when you're less than a foot away from it the evil aura and unbearable cold of it starts to get to ya. I just shook it off though and put my paw inside then jumped in the rest of the way.
As soon as I got inside I was struck with a sudden pain. I fell to the ground, which was actually just a vast black void. I looked down and saw my white paws start to turn grey and purple. I closed my eyes as another wave of pain ran through me and I just laid there for a few minutes. I heard the strange lupes' voice say,"Klonaa dear, open your eyes. Your transformation was a beautiful sucess. You're one of the prettiest ones I've seen so far." I slowly got to my feet and realized I was much taller than I had been and for some reason I felt almost weight-less. I also noticed that I couldn't feel any pain, or anything else for that matter. Probobly cause I was in a black void of some kind. I slowly opend my eyes and saw a strange but beautiful lupe starring back at me. She was tall and had bright purple eyes that gleamed with mystery. I studdied the lupe a little more and realized what I was looking at. I was starring at my reflection. "Wow..." I said stunned. It was so strange seeing myself like this. I turned my head slightly to see what was to my left and saw the strange lupe sitting there smileing at me. For once it wasn't a creepy or evil looking smile but a happy smile, even though it was still very crooked. I could feel myself smileing back at her. She simply said,"Well, I guess I should tell you, you're a demon, Klonaa dear. You though, unlike most demons, don't require a host to survive and you have your own body. Of course you can now enter the spirit realm whenever you please. You are free to roam the world and, as you could probobly tell when you started to cry erlier, have special abuilities related to acid. Go and do as you please, Klonaa. I hope you have fun." With that she dissapeared from sight.
I saw another one of the strange black portals appear before me. I stepped through the portal and found myself back in the real world. Apparently I had been gone longer than I had thought because the moon was now a new moon and when I had first entered the portal there was at least a little bit of the moon left. I started walking along and saw a poster on the grafiti covered wall that didn't quite fit in. I walked over and saw a picture of the old me. The poster was titled 'HIGHLY DANGEROUS CRIMINAL. WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE.' I simply ripped the poster off the wall and snickerd to myself while tossing it into the nearest trash can.
I was away from my so called 'family' now.
I was finally FREE...
