Back then I was... what the local natives called "evil" (I prefer misunderstood) finally they put an end my being. As a spirit I couldn't be killed, instead my soul was scattered to the elements. Now I have been reborn as a mortal wolf. The abilities of fire still remain with me, no longer at full power though but still deadly...very..... History [:Chapter 1:]x[:Chapter 2:]x[:Chapter 3:] -Thousands of years ago Ah, forgive my brief telling. I can only be vague when it comes to my history because I'll only tell you what I remember and it was a very long time ago. It's not important though, what's past is past so there's no need to get all specific. It'll only be a waste of your time. And I suppose you have other places to go and better things to do than listen to a stranger blabber about his past so I won't keep you too long Thinking back I can't quite remember much. But back in those days I definitely needed an attitude adjustment or some anger management classes at the very least. I was a spirit, the spirit of fire who took on the form of a wolf. I lived in an isolated mountainous area for hundreds, maybe thousands of years (I lost count). It was my home, my land, My Territory until the day They came. On the border of my mountain range there lived a group of Natives. I didn't bother them as long as they kept their distance. But over a period of time those Natives grew in number and than they started to move into my territory. The thought of people like Them invading my home threw me into rage! How Dare they come here! What Nerve!!! (Perhaps, if I had stopped and rethought my actions the disaster that came after could have been avoided. Like I said before, I needed some anger management, or maybe it was just because I got so bored over the years) I don't know, all I can remember was blinding rage and severe hatred clouding my already unstable mind, so I burned everything and everyone in sight young and old. I was lost in my own anger, sooo lost I was deaf to the random chanting in the distance, it made me drowsy... dizzy, my mind was spinning. Then I suddenly realized what was happening but it was already too late..... that chant was a spell. Hmphf, I can easily fight off some mortal spell, but I was wrong... dead wrong! I couldn't fight off that particular spell. The power of the chant slowly enveloped my mind, it grew louder and stronger, several Native witch doctors began burning incenses and carving symbols in the burnt and lifeless ground. Had they planned all this? A spell like that one could only have been taught by another spirit. Had the Natives befriended enemy spirits? So many questions! Suddenly I couldn't think anymore, everything seemed to gradually melt away. A strong wind blew in my direction, I let out a howl and was no more... The last thing I heard was the voice of one of the elders... Elder: Thank the gods for guiding our people. Upon fulfilling the task of vanquishing the Evil spirit Kiabor, We shall celebrate! -I was severely weakened after that incident, nevertheless, several few decades later I was reincarnated as no more than a mortal wolf (spirits cannot be completely killed). When I was reborn I had no memory past events... I was a pure black wolf pup, and just like any other wolf pup I fought for food, play fighted with my brothers and sisters, and joined in the song of the moon every night. To the pack I was known as Wolf (my mother wasn't too creative). I had potential, even at a young age hunting came naturally. I held a valuable position in my pack. This responsibility made what came after so much worse... When I grew older it was clear that I was different... too different. At night my dreams were haunted by spirits and fire, by day I had visions of things I couldn't comprehend. Not long after markings of fire crept over my black fur and as the days went by I began to recall past events from another life. Sometimes intense heat followed my every step and occasionally unexplained fires. Soon after my own pack grew fearful of me. I became an outcast, a loner. I cried during the night but my cries would only turn into long eerie howls stained with confusion. I wanted to run away. So I finally decided to leave and search for my identity. Though what I really wanted more than anything else was to find a way to control my powers. To keep things simple, I was searching for a place I could fit in, if such a place actually existed. So I wandered alone in the darkness of an unusually cold night, there was no moon to guide me that night not even the light of a star. The night was odd and suspiciously silent. I had traveled so far away, I hadn't a clue where I was. To me the surrounding area looked like a forest, though it was difficult to be sure without any light. The darkness around me seemed to creep. I grew uncomfortable, then I saw sparks among the trees. Was it another fire? I pointed my nose in that direction. No, it wasn't. It gave off a mysterious mystical scent I couldn't quite describe. I followed, mesmerized. Suddenly the sparks of light vanished! I used my nose to relocate it. The object moved rapidly, almost invisibly and there were too many fallen branches in my path, but I struggled to keep up with the "lights" anyway. Curiosity drove me along with hope. The scent was mystical, perhaps whatever it was would be able to help my current situation. I was catching up to it, the distance between me and the "lights" quickly shortened, then I saw what it was. A delicate little girl with fragile looking wings. She was ridiculously small for a girl, no bigger than my paw. I was sooo close to it. Almost there! I leaped, stretched my neck, elongated my body and opened my jaws in an attempted to snatch the butterfly like creature between my fangs. Than I realized the possibility of accidentally hurting it (hunting instincts are very hard to be rid of. I am a wolf after all). I twisted around in mid jump to avoid biting the thing, instead I ended up falling, tumbling and then landing awkwardly. Had I lost it?!? Vanity The Royal Faerie Fairy: Ahhh! Get off! Your sitting on top of me! Wolf: Oops, urm sorry... Fairy: Ohhh, Please don't hurt me!!! please don't put me in a bottle! I'm lost and... Wolf: Huh? What are you talking about? I don't even know what you are? Fairy: I'm a FAIRY, What kind of neopet doesn't know what a fairy is!?! Wolf: Neopet? Wha? I'm a wolf Fairy: Well what kind of wolf has those flame markings! you look more like a fire lupe to me Wolf: Well, that's a long story... Fairy: I don't have time! I need to hurry back home Wolf: Where are you from? Fairy: Neopia! Like, where else! Wolf: Can I go with you? This might sound crazy but it seems like a place I can fit in. Fairy: HELLOooo, I just told you I was lost, remember? Wolf: Don't underestimate a wolf's sense of smell? Just show me an item from this Neopia and I'll try my best to find it Fairy: And I suppose you would want something in return Wolf: I don't want some-thing, I want see this Neopia for myself. I'd do anything to get out of my current situation. Fairy: Ah, fair enough Kiaborwolf: (Are all fairies that irritating?) After quite a bit of misunderstanding and bickering we finally reached the end of the trail. However there was nothing to be seen. But the fairy explained to me that the nearest entrance from to Neopia was actually an unseen portal rising miles into the sky (so wanderers wont accidentally walk through) where our worlds thinned and overlapped. To the bare eye the portal was little more than a shimmering sliver in the night sky. Not exactly what I had in mind at all, there was no way I would be able to reach it and no way the tallest trees in the forest could reach it. But the little fairy girl remained true to our deal, she used her strange Neopian magic to give me a pair of black feathered wings so I would be able to fly through the watery portal. When I set foot in Neopia I was both nervous and excited. It was to be a new chapter of my life... But being in Neopia also meant that I had to pass as a neopet. I loathed the idea of having an owner but the fairy girl was nice enough to find me an acceptable match. My "owner" Kyria, is compassionate and understanding enough when she doesn't over or under do it. She even found people to train me so I could better my control over fire, it didn't turn out to well but it's the effort that counts... Right? Well, for those of you who want to know more, keep reading. It's what happened to me after I came to this land called Neopia. Once again I'll give a brief summary of my story and skip all those unimportant details so you don't fall asleep on me. It'll be more accurate though, since this all happened quite recently...not hundreds of years ago.....Anyway, here goes. I spent long grueling hours each and everyday trying to master my seemingly uncontrollable gift of fire. I desperately sought out help but I quickly discovered that the extent of my fire powers were unusual, even by Neopian standards. So I finally decided it was best to ignore my abilities and never use them again. However, that idea didn't work out too well... the more I tried to keep my abilities locked up inside me the harder it became to keep it from erupting out of control. Sometimes my powers turn wild and I'd end up causing explosions, hurting unfortunate bystanders who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. On other occasions my abilities would vanish unexpectedly. Once that happened when I had gotten myself into trouble and actually needed them... but I won't get into that story now. Either way, I was still forced to search for any means of controlling my powers before anyone else got hurt. But because of my reputation and all the deaths I was connected to, no one wanted to help or even be seen with me. I wasn't welcomed in any area for an extended period of time for disaster followed in my every step. Then after an entire year of wandering, I ended up in Meridell since I've heard rumors of a legendary knight who had mastered all four elements (Earth, Wind, Water and Fire). I've already tried everything I could so I figured it wouldn't hurt to pay this guy a visit. Against all odds, when I met the knight and explained my problem he sympathized with my situation and was willing to help. I still remember that day clearly, the relief that spread through me when I found the one who understood. To me he was the Good Knight, he had no name and never spoke on his past. Whatever it was, it probably had something to do with why he lent an ear to my story when others wouldn't. Nevertheless he agreed to train me and under the guidance of the Good Knight I was able to gain better control over my abilities and I improved a little more with each passing day. But the townsfolk in Meridell continued to fear, hate, and discriminate against me in every way imaginable (Don't Ask!) The only reason why they even tolerated my presence was because the Knight who took me in was a well respected figure in Meridell. So I continued my training, interacting as little as possible with the townsfolk. Now when I think about it I realize that those times weren't bad at all. The Knight was not only my mentor but also a very close friend and his group of nine other warriors welcomed me as one of them. But then the war came, all able fighters were expected to participate and the nine knights including my nameless mentor left for a honorable cause. I stayed, for I wasn't an official knight and I was still struggling with my powers since I hadn't completed my training. I never really did complete my training though... the Knight and his fellows never returned from the war. Without them I was lost and by my grief my powers only grew more and more out of control, steadily undoing all those hours of training thus making me feel guilty and even more depressed. Finally the day came when I had to leave Meridell. The townsfolk couldn't stand me and without the Knight they tolerated my presence no more. The people accused me of turning the "Gift of fire" into a curse. So I was left to wander once more...as they say I'm "Back to square one". Now I continue my wandering, still in search for the key to controlling the elemental gift of fire. I may never be able to undue the damage I've caused...but, I can try. I will try......... My quest continued as I wandered and during my journey I met others, some good, some not so good and believe it or not...even some similar to myself. So it continues...my journey may never end. Care to travel with me? Here's where everything really starts. Enjoy the ride This following section is based on role-plays. Some of you may be familiar with the content ^^ I left on my quest in search for the key to controlling the elements. The first place I visited after I left Meridell was the Terror Mountains. Why there? It was the place where the Knight and his fellows had disappeared, so I guess I was subconsciously drawn to it... to the Ice Caves to be exact. When I first entered the Terror Mountains, to my surprise the place was deserted. Even the usually crowded Happy Valley lay empty. Something was wrong...but there was no turning back so I treaded onward towards the mountaintop. There, I found out why everyone had left. Shadow demons from the Haunted Woods had apparently decided to move into the Terror Mountains. But they weren't allowed to party just yet The guardian of the area put up on heck of a fight with those demons. I was just passing but the guardian needed help so we teamed up. Yes, the chivalric ways of the knight were drilled into me and the words of oath still remain with me to this day. It is considered a crime to refuse help when you're capable of it. So, using fire we were able to push the shadow demons towards the haunted Wood but they kept coming back. When one fell, two took its place. Then the guardian suggested that if we destroyed them all at once their regenerating cycle won't take place. I was ready. There was a cave nearby that I was planning to herd the demons into it so we can blow the cave up later with them inside. Unfortunately my fire abilities decide to die out on me at that moment so I was reduced to using my fangs and claws. How embarrassing! Anyway, I herded and my partner guarded the cave so the monsters wouldn't escape. In the end we won, the guardian took care of the shadow demons. When it was over I left to search the area once more I was hoping that I might find a trace of my friends but I didn't find a thing and the idea got cut short when a blizzard hit. I was tired, my powers weren't working and to top it all off I was lost. Then I met Teeoka, a snowy winged lupess who resided near the Snowager's lair. She helped me out and even let me stay at her place for the night. She lives in a series of underground passages, connected to several places within Terror Mountain. It's an odd was to live but she's people shy so I guess it made some sense. Allowing me to stay with her was a very thoughtful act but I left the next morning. I can only stay underground for so long. I had to move on I figured that I'd better pay a visit to the Haunted Woods. Something was wrong there and the sighting of shadow demons on the Terror Mountain was proof. So I decided to check the place out, not only because I was curious but also because I thought I might have been able to help out and undo a bit of my horrid reputation. Well, it took me longer than I thought it would to get there. I took a wrong turn and ended up in Tyrannia instead..... I was there, so I thought I might as well take a look around I took a stroll, all the while avoiding curious eyes, just in case someone may have recognized me. But when I saw a starving tyrannian petpet getting beaten for stealing a little bit of food from a hotdog cart, I got involved. No one got hurt. The instant the cart owner saw who I was he fled like the biggest coward you'd ever see. He's the kind of person who'd pick on those weaker than he is but is too much of a chicken to face the consequences. After that incident the niptor traveled with me. I named him Zaye. It was nice to have a companion especially when I've been alone since the war. On to the Haunted Woods. Well, we were there in a week The place was filled with a surplus of mutants. Way more than the usual number...Then I met Dark, a mysterious elusive shadow figure who made tracing the mutants to the source his top priority. He's searching for an illegal laboratory and he's sure there's a connection with the mutants. Our paths crossed so we teamed up for a while but when I blew his cover with an unexpected fire he insisted on continuing his search alone. I don't blame him. So I left the mutant mystery up to Dark. Maybe, when this is over, I'll see him again Where do I go now? Well for starters outta the Haunted Woods of course. I ran into more mind controlled mutant zombies and blew them all away. But I lost my petpet during all the chaos. I told him to run for his life then after the fight was over I couldn't find him. I guess Zaye lost his way... I was left to wander alone Then I came across a blue lupess name 3ven (pronounced Even). At first I thought I'd have to fight her since she reacted quite hostile towards my being in her territory. When things cooled down, we talked. 3ven just wasn't used to outsiders and she revealed why. On her paw is a map that leads to an ancient treasure of an extinct race of peoples and several others are after her because of it. She wants to find the treasure before anyone else does in order to protect it. I've helped her along the way a bit. 3ven is an interesting lupess but I eventually had to leave for I had my own search to consider. If I stayed too long I feared that my fire would get out of control and only cause her trouble. She's very capable. I believe she would succeed So I wandered around, and to my luck I ran into Zaye. He was just about to get eaten by a group of werewolves. The little guy was scared outta his mind! But he put on a pretty good bluff. You should have seen it! A two foot dino going all Kong-fu and raptor like. Good thing I was there. You can guess what happened next. That's Right. Bye, bye werewolves. Finally I got Zaye and myself out of the Haunted Woods and found myself lost Again... this time in the Lost Desert Yeah! Just my luck and in the middle of a sandstorm too. Luck was just not on my safe. Well, it didn't take long before we ran into another victim of the storm. Only about an hour later we came across a lovely white lupess named Nuka who got caught in a sand trap. I helped her out and we both traveled together in search for any hint of civilization in this never ending land of sand. Zaye didn't mind, but I did so the little guy kept running ahead of us and I kept thinking that I'd lose him again. But miraculously, he led us right to a city in the middle of nowhere...kindda like he has already been there before... Thankfully, it was a city Nuka recognized. But I don't like cities, too many people. So Nuka took us to a nearby oasis and you wouldn't believe this, she began to tutor me in the elusive art of fire control. I never found out how she mastered her abilities or why she even had them in the first place and I never did find out. She vanished without a trace, along with the oasis So I left on my quest once more, with slightly more control over my fire abilities but not nearly enough. Not even close. Here's something funny and surprising. I saw Zaye lash fire from his claws in some sort of attack a day later. I guess he was eavesdropping on my lessons with Nuka. Hmphf, and I thought he was asleep that whole time. Weird huh?... Sooooo, moving on. After a long search I still wasn't able to find anyone else who could help me with fire control... or anyone who knew what it was for that matter. Ok, time to get outta the desert I took Zaye and flew away. This time to Mystery Island. Well all the other places didn't hold any elemental secrets so I had nothing to lose. Actually, I was wrong. For some reason I didn't get along too well with the natives. Why? Another out of control fire on my part... yes, it's getting old. I'll cut right through all the confusion and horror that took place and simply tell you that I got chased away by some very angry locals. So I took flight. This time without Zaye. We were separated during that wild goose chase. I'll go back for him Soon after I found myself on another island, not too far from Mystery Island. An amazing lupess inhabited the place and she had all four elemental gifts to some extent. Maisha is her name and I really thought that she'd be able to help me out but it turned out that she couldn't control her own abilities either. Oh well, but our meeting benefited the both of us. She left her island to accompany me on my quest in search of a way to control our abilities. We rested a bit before leaving and our first stop had to be Mystery Island since I still had to look for Zaye. When we got there most of the natives had left. Probably still out somewhere looking for me. Hehe, that turned out for the better because coming back here would be the last thing they'd expect. Anyway, it didn't take me long to find Zaye. To tell you the truth, he found us. I made a decision to return to Meridell alone It wouldn't do any good for anyone to be seen with me... not even Zaye. It has just been so long I've missed that place. I was also curious about how things were going there. The visit was emotional, I saw houses, roads and people I recognized. There was even an extension added on called Brightvale. Interesting place Brightvale, everyone there is so smart. Too bad I couldn't show myself in the open. So I walked around in the shadows, eventually got thirsty and began looking for a river to drink out of. I found a river and I also found a runaway poet named Starsock We exchanged greetings and fragments of our pasts. Turns out she's not just any poet, she's the poet of King Hagan's court. How could someone possibly want to run from such a decent life? I'd trade places anytime. Then she explained and I listened. Court life is a bore to her. Same thing every single day and she felt like some kind of wind up toy. So she ran away with me to the nearest area of civilization that was not Meridell... The Haunted Woods. I have bad memories of the place but Star wanted to see some old friends. Strange, huh? Not when she revealed to me that she was actually a ghost..... That's right. I just found out that Star is the ghost of a lupess who died years ago I didn't stay in the Haunted Woods for long. I wanted to get out and I did. On the edge of the woods there is a rather beautiful field of grass and flowers. Pretty ironic eh? It doesn't really matter though. I was still looking for Zaye... Again! That's getting old too. I wasn't alone though, a beautiful wolf agreed to help me. She's called Nina and I wanted to help her too. See, we both had elemental abilities. She has wind and I have fire and like most, she couldn't control it. All us elemental users have some trouble with our powers..... Where are the answers!?! If we don't find it soon we'll be forced to live as outcasts for the rest of eternity So I traveled with her, enjoying her company all the way. I don't know why but she's different from the others. I didn't think someone who has been though what she has could ever be so kind and understanding. Well, we journeyed around, keeping an eye out for Zaye. We found him very close by and he wasn't alone. Turns out he has been playing with a sauropod. Zaye! He got me all worried for no reason and the whole time he was having fun. Ok, ok, I'm still glad we were reunited. And the sauropod he's with was really Nina's petpet. So lucky us. Back on the road If there's anything I've learned in my travels is that no one can really teach me how to control my powers... but I'll keep searching.... We'll keep searching. During that search Nina and I grew closer. At first I didn't even notice the way she looked at me because I was too busy with my quest. I'm not familiar with the I feelings I have when I'm around her...and I can't stand it when something take me by surprise. I guess it's love... To be continued......... Family -This is my "Owner", Shootingstar864 or Kyria. I can take care of myself really but I won't say no to extra help. She's usually very busy and I'm glad she still finds time for me once in while. I'll even admit that I owe her quite a lot. -I met Dark through Kyria. He's another that she had decided to take in other than myself. Basically Dark is an abandoned lab experiment who somehow came to live with my family. At first we didn't get along and as we gotten to know each other we were still tolerant at best. He does get into a great deal of trouble though but even if he doesn't admit it, he has changed since we met. But then again, he's obsessed with finding that lab that turned him into the creature he is. Dark has vowed revenge and for the sake of his sanity I do hope he succeeds. -This is my adopted sister Angel, she's sweet and kind but sometimes she cares a bit too much. She also says she's an Angel sent to keep an eye on the family. It's hard to believe but I think it's true. We get along in general even if we don't agree on everything. And yes, we have our brother and sister moments. She may think she's keeping the balance in the family but I take care of her too you know. Friends Teeoka, AKA The North Wind. She's a snowy blue lupess with the ability to create cold weather. Her abilities are the complete opposite of mine. We met in a blizzard and she let me stay over at her place which just so happens to be underground. That's cool and so is she. We don't know too much about each other yet. I met Nuka in the desert. We helped each other out in order to survive. I've grown fond of her over a short period of time. She' kind and even tried to train me in the art of fire control. I wish she'd stay longer. To this day Nuka is remains a mystery to me. We are at the beginning of a long journey. A rather serious treasure hunt to be exact. She has the map on her paw and people are after her for it. Now we're trying to get to it before they do. I never thought it would turn out this way when I first met Even but I guess it did. I met Maisha on an island during my wanderings. I was finding a place to rest after a wild chase and to my surprise I met another. She has several elemental gifts but like myself she can't control them. Perhaps one day we will both master our gifts. I really wish for the best for her. Starsock or Star is a poet who works for King Hagan of Meridell himself. She's a very unique lupess and when I first met Star I envied her life in the castle but I quickly found out that she hated it because it was boring. Well, now she's decided to leave it behind and travel with me. I only met Nieyumii a short while ago. I know that she's an ice wolf with a very mysterious past. It seems that she's the only one left of her kind but I think things have gotten better for her because she has a great family. So far we're getting along and it seems like we're also going be getting to know each other a lot better. Nina is a very close friend, she's easy to talk to and very understanding. She's also kind and caring and is currently trying to master her own elemental abilities too. Nina is the first who has ever shown me any emotion. I so glad she's her with me and I hope she'll still be here when my wandering days are over because things will get better. My Petpet This is my petpet and as you can see he's a Niptor and I've decided to name him Zaye (the name doesn't mean anything, it just sounds cool). I met him in Tyrannia, betcha already figured that out. Anyway, the little guy was a stray and he got caught stealing food from some hotdog cart and the ungenerous owner was about to give him a beating. So I stepped in, I mean what kind of person gets crazy over one hotdog and Zaye was a quarter of that guy's size. Talk about unfair! Since then he's been traveling with me. Funny thing our colors match, quite a coincidence, it's like our meeting was fated. About Zaye's personality, he's overactive and hyper. He gets into a lot of trouble and can sometimes be annoying but he never fails to brighten my day. We have had quite a bit of adventures together.
