Story

Thin, vast fog rimmed the eerie forest as I galloped towards it. It's inhabitants grew silent as I fled deep down the dirt trail, thick clouds of dust exploding into the air with every measured and uneasy step I took. My snow-white fur was sprayed with soil, my ears folded cowardly against my head. I darted frightful glances to my side, not turning my head to stare as if someone antagonized would rear out and attack me. Darkness swarmed through the heavy branches, letting little moonlight seep through and cast grim shadows against the forest floor. Uneven lumps of dirt caused me to stumble slightly, but I quickly caught my balance, and reiterated back into a trot. I soon slowed into a walk, the only sounds around me being the heavy breathing exhaling through my open mouth, the repetitive and rapid beating of my heart, and the occasional whoosh of the air, blowing freely through the trees.

I cast a glance over my shoulder, trembling slightly. Had I lost him? I shuttered, my eyes stretched wide. I strained up my long ears hesitantly, listening to the sounds of the gloomy forest around me. Silence. That didn't mean I'd lost him. He could be dead silent and still be as fast as a cheetah; Maybe even faster. My pulse increased, and I bolted ahead of me once again, each step unmeasured and clumsy. I let out a gasp as a body slammed into me, my breath exhaling from my mouth. I coughed violently as I slammed against the ground. Two bony claws wrapped around my wrists, and flipped me over through the air so I was now on my back, staring at the figure looming over me. "Hello, Katie," It chuckled, 'it' revealing to be my step brother, Red. "thought you could run, didn't you?" I let out a terrified scream, trying to scoot away from him, but his tight grip on my wrists held me firm in place. "Leave me alone!" I cried.
