[x][ Introduction ][x]

Even by day, the forest was dark, but by night, it was even darker. Starlight barely penetrated the canopy. Although it was not as thick as some, and high above the ground, they still provided a sufficient shield from the light from the sky. On the forest floor, it was barren. No plant life grew among the roots of the towering trees, except for the trees themselves. A light mist clung to the lower roots, as the air was still. The air was unnaturally still, and no sound penetrated the stillness of the air. It was terribly eerie, and most likely you desired nothing more to be out of there. As you turned to go, the crack of a stick behind you froze you to your spot.

Turning your head around slowly, you give a jump. Standing between two trees was the most ghastly creature you'd ever laid eyes upon. It resembled a horse's skeleton, except with dark, blue-gray skin clinging to the bones. Except for two things. The first of which being that it had a dragonish head, and huge wings similar to those of a bat's protruded from its back. It's long; lank mane hung limply off the side of its neck, a limp curtain of black. It stared at you with white, soulless eyes. Its breath came in rattled gasps, each sounding likes its last. A putrid smell arose from the creature, and you found yourself trying to run, to escape it. But then it spoke. "Stop," it said, it's voice underlined with a rattle that sounded like a dying man's breath. It reminded one unpleasantly of dead things and graveyards.

W-why?" you manage.

Because, I have much to show you. Follow me. I promise you it will not be the last thing you do, nor will you end your days in my company," it said again, and then did something you could only assume it to be laughing. However, it sounded like a rasping cough of one on their death bed.

You blinked, and wondered why. Then finally, you spoke up again. "But…What…I mean, who are you?" you finally manage.

Lifting its jaw in what one could only assume to be a smile, it paused before answering. "I am a thestral. And my name is Jlii."

[x][ Story ][x]

I was born in a forest far away from civilization and north of Altador. I was born to a thestral mother and a half-thestral half uni father. I was dubbed Jliisaräm at birth. I lived an uneventful first part of my life. However, when I was still young, my father, who was always an outcast, was banished from the herd for not being a full thestral. And because I was a quarter uni, I had to go with him. My mother didn't even try to defend us. I've never seen her since then, and am glad of that.

My father raised me from there. We moved southeast to a forest at the foot of the mountains. There were no thestrals, unis, or any neopet for the matter there. Just small rodents and birds resided in that forest. It suited us well, seeing as neither of us wanted to hunt. For me, at least. While he was omnivorous, I was a carnivore as any right thestral should be. So we were perfectly content on living off what we had.

Things went well for a long time. My father taught me a lot of things. I was very fond of him. But when I was a young adult, he disappeared. I don't know what happened to him. Just one day he was there and the next day he wasn't. I searched all around the forest, but to no avail. He was gone. It was puzzling, but I got over it eventually and decided to move on.

I tried to find my way back to my herd. I was sure I could pull off being a full thestral. I looked and acted like a full thestral should, so why couldn't I be one? But alas, I could not find them. Eventually, I stopped in the most peculiar forest. The trees were unnaturally tall, and the forest remained in constant twilight. I liked the place, and have remained there ever since.

[x][ Love ][x]

Just for suggesting it, I'm going to glare at you. Why would I waste my time on such a petty thing such as love? I don't even enjoy the company of others, so why would I want to spend my time with some dumb, girly female? Honestly, your queries appall me. First off, as I mentioned before, why would I want to fall in love? I'm perfectly fine the way I am…By myself. And second off, what sane female would love me? In case you haven't noticed, I'm not exactly what many would consider handsome. Attractively frightening and intimidating, yes. Something women would want? No.

[x][ Friends ][x]

Again, this is a bit like the love thing. First off, no one even ventures near my forest unless hopelessly lost, and I don't intend to venture out of it. Where would I meet anyone to be friends? I don't even need friends. I'm perfectly fine being alone. I don't need anyone. But even so. If by some rare chance I encountered someone out here, why would they want to be friends with me and I with him or her? If they don't run away upon spotting me, most likely I won't like them. And before you say I've got a pessimistic view regarding this, take a look at me. Would you want to be my friend?

[x][ Home ][x]

As of current, I live in a forest far north of Altador and far from civilization. It's sparsely populated, which is just the way I like it. Only rodents and crows venture in there for the most part, and there are usually enough to keep me fed. The ground is barren-no moss or grasses grow on this forest floor. The trees are tall and wide, and lack the rich canopies of other trees. They start branching out a bit some 20-30 feet off the forest floor, and not out far. The branches generally don't have many leaves on them. Despite this, the forest floor still remains in constant twilight, perhaps due to the fact that it remains in the constant shadow of several large hills that surround it. It's blissfully isolated due to that-I don't get disturbed in my forest. Often. -He said, looking back at you.- A small stream trickles through the middle of it, and I can drink from that. During the night, mist comes and settles about the forest floor. It's delightfully spooky, and I like it here.
