The Warehouse
I've never been to one of these, says an excited Acara walking ahead of you, It's safe, isn't it?
Of course it's safe, says the Aisha she's walking with, Jennyce is one of the best.
You look down to watch your feet as you walk. You'd heard of the myth before; she could control the emotions of anybody who could feel her rhythm, she could warp your heartbeat and even destroy your will. However, you know better than to believe those urban legends. Mind control is a thing of conspirators and the insane, right?
As you enter the warehouse, you look around. Spotlights are scanning the crowd, showing the mass of dancing bodies. The music has become much louder, assaulting your ears but covering you in a rush of happiness. You smile and throw yourself into the crowd, pushing further and further towards the front. The desire to see Jennyce in action is overwhelming.
It's a long fight to the front, but eventually you make it. Even more people have entered the party, Neopians of all kinds are spilling out the door, anxious for a chance to enter. You raise your head to look up at Jennyce, and finally you're satisfied with yourself.
Jennyce! You try to yell over the music. She apparently doesn't hear you, but instead licks her lips and spins another track. Jub Zambra. The crowd screams and breaks into another dance. You're too concerned with talking to this incredible DJ to pay much attention to what's going on around you.
I need to talk to you! You yell at the top of your lungs. Jennyce still doesn't hear you over the music. You're just about to give up when... Everything goes black.

story
For as long as she could remember, Jennyce has been able to manipulate the air around her. She never bothered to find a name for her ability, preferring to simply experiment with her hands. She spent the majority of her childhood sitting cross-legged on her bed, making different sounds by vibrating the air.
Jennyce, dear, her mother would enter her room on occasion to check on her daughter, I think you should go outside for a little while.
Jennyce would look outside her window in distaste. She had grown to prefer the night; Kreludor was often visible and bright from where she grew up and she adored the sight. The daytime simply bored her.
Rather than endure her mother's constant questioning, Jennyce would leave the house and go exploring. In order to avoid the neighborhood kids she would stay in their backyard or wander through the woods.
It's around here somewhere, she muttered to herself, before finally stumbling across her cave. She had found this a few months after she began walking through the woods and loved how cool and dark it was inside. The perfect getaway.
While experimenting with her capabilities, Jennyce would often forget where she was and lose herself in her powers. It had never occurred to her that someone else may be attracted to the music she was making-- she hadn't even considered she may be making music, in her mind she was playing with the air.
Creatures from the surrounding wood gathered around the mouth of the cave and listened to her music. The word passed from creature to creature until she would have a rather large crowd around her. It startled her the first time it happened, but she had grown used to it.
What would you like me to do this time? she began asking the creatures, figuring she could use the practice. They never responded, but that didn't stop her from making something new.
Her favorite sounds to create quickly became treble and bass tones. Higher pitches hurt her sensetive ears. She became louder and louder as time passed, eventually luring the children she had originally fled to the cave to avoid. They had all grown into teenagers by this time and were fascinated by the crowd of creatures. What was so interesting about Jennyce?
Jennyce began getting requests by popular bands, she had people come up with names for her music and they would request their favorite one. Sometimes she would get a request for something new. Her visitors were entranced by the music, and they each noticed something when they left her cave at night; they were happy.
Over time Jennyce's crowd became much too big for her cave, and when she moved out of her parent's house she moved her music with her. She found a warehouse a little off of Neopia Central and established the times she would play. She lives in a small apartment on the other side of town to avoid anybody finding her during the day.
She avoids the questioning eyes. She keeps her head down and her hands in her pockets. She doesn't talk much, but she loves the song.
