These are my graphs about the lab map, made on the 18th of July 2007, with data from over 400 zaps. For the full log of what the lab ray does, look at Brain_boyo's petpage. If you have any other graphs you want to see please neomail me. Please note that for low level pets the lab map can set your level to one. I don't know how frequently this happens, however, as I didn't have the lab map when Brain_boyo was at a low enough level. Just beware if your pet is at a low level.

What does the lab map do?
These graphs show what the lab map does.
For this graph I took colour and species changes as good as people tend to be excited about them, but gender changes as bad because many people are bored and let down by them. Stats up were obviously good, and when stats decreased the zaps were naturally 'bad'.

In this chart gender changes have been counted as neutral, but it otherwise the same as the one above.

This graph is pretty self explanatory I think. It is worth noting that stat changes are much more common than changes to your pets appearance, so if you want a painted pet you will have to be patient.

This graph is to show you how much your stats are most likely to change. As can be seen 2 or 3 points is most common, but up to 5 can occur! Note that 4 or 5 point changes only happen to hit points.

What about just battle stats?
These graphs only take into account the zaps which affected Brain_boyo's statistics. The ones which changed his colour, etc. are ignored. These graphs are most likely to be useful for battlers training their pets.
Zaps are more likely to increase stats, and the overall trend is for stats to go up, but beware: some stats (namely defence and level) go down over time!

Interestingly, almost exactly half of the zaps which affect stats are increases by either 2 or 3 points. This graph does also highlight just how rare it is for stats to go up by either 4 or 5 points.

This graph is useful to see how much a specific stat goes up or down. Max hit points is the one stat which never goes down, which is why so many zapped pets have disproportionately high hit points.

This shows how much each stat has changed from the lab map. Note that this will not add up on Brain_boyo's petpage because I have also trained Brain_boyo, but this chart is purely from lab zaps.

So is the lab map worth it?
Definitely! If you can afford it, buy the map pieces, and get the map! But if you want to make your pet
better for battles I advise you train at the same time, or certain stats like defence will end up really low!
