Angel's Palace: 8
I love the soothing periwinkles, but also, a bit of warmth might help even out that palette.
Organization: 2
No beef here, everything is easy to access.
Colors: 2
I do like the colors, but the header image has a different colored border than your divs.
Words: 2
There are a few typos, but no real issues with grammar or spelling.

I appreciate that you did at least put some effort into customizing your layouy; however, well tailored or not, it's all premade. I know everyone can code their own layouts and make their own lovely layouts. Turn to your guides section, you have a wealth of information and resources listed right on your own site!

Deux CSS: 9.5/10
I love the simplicity, has a very nice vibe to it. I would suggest about 2px of padding, though.
Organization: 1.5
Anchor links for Petpages and Lookups would be very helpful.
Colors: 2
I love the palette, very somber yet oddly warm.
Words: 2
Everything is easy to read, and I don't see any mistakes.
Presentation: 2
I love your layouts, very clean and modern. I have one small suggestion, don't offer your site layout as a premade, keep that one all for yourself.

Meh, I don't have any strong feelings, the layout seems kind of bland. Honestly, it doesn't seem to flow well together.

Very nice, I love the pop of color to emphasize the text. A nice variety of brushes and paths, used very effectively to draw attention to the image portion. Lovely way to add depth, but not overwhelm.

Eh, it's okay. The giraffe is cute, but I don't really understand how the background plays in? I kind of get this safari feeling from the layout, but those look like mushrooms... It really looks like you went searching for cute images and just cobbled them all together to make a layout. Not very cohesive at all.

Very nice neon colors, and great contrast between the title and the image background. Unfortunately, you've hit that snag we all hate with Firefox, web safe colors. .PNG format images are capable of retaining the 16 million color variations that come from RGB, and Internet Explorer can display them; however, Firefox falls a little short, and can only display the 216 web safe colors. A useless little throwback to when most monitor's could only display 256 colors (40 colors were reserved as system fixed colors). So, a little workaround for when you find yourself needing a background color that falls outside of Firefox's spectrum is to just take a little swatch directly from the solid color of your image, save it as .PNG and use it as a background image. Easy peasy, and your layout looks to everyone just the way you imagined it.

I like the "boxiness", very modern and clean. One small point, if you're going to go with a grunge text, don't use another kind of sloppy font to couple with it. Something more smooth, definitely a sans serif, would be a a more interestin partner.

Interesting. Very blue, and bright. I have a very high resolution, but it is wide screen, so the header image being so long makes it somewhat of a pain that I have to scroll down to see the very bottom of the content.

Serious brush overload. Flowers, dots, paint splatters, grunge, light ribbons, circles and stars? I know how tempting it is to just go brush wild, but it makes your layout very chaotic. Organization: 2 Everything is very easy to find, but it's slightly annoying that you have such a graphic heavy layout spread out over several different pages. It's just a flicker when I click a link and it reloads the whole thing, but it still makes me think twice about coming back to your site. Words: 2 No issues here, except one small suggestion. For things like bold, italics and links, you want them to pop. So instead of using a droll, beige sort of color, tie into those reds you used in the header. Colors: 1.5 A little too much gray, it seems to really swallow everything. It's a nice layout, it just needs an injection of color. Presentation: 2 Overall, I like the site. Plenty of content of a very nice quality. I would come back, because overall it's very well done. |
Sandstar Reviews: 8.5/10
First Impression: 2
I really like the colors, and the simplicity of it. Nice clean lines keep the attention focused where it should be, the buttons. The huge amount of space between "Sandstar" and "Directory" seems a little off to me, it just doesn't keep with the aesthetics. Just that small tweak could make a big difference. Organization: 1.5 A place for everything, and everything in its place. Very nice. My one issue is the link navigation. It's rather boring and the link color is somewhat difficult to see on the white. Some nice image links would look very cute and pull it together. Colors: 1.5 Just darling; however, it seems like your CSS doesn't really match up with the colors of the background. Your blue should be #96cbdf, or maybe darker, like, #26acdf. And the pink you're using has too much blue in it, where as the pink in the image is warmer, #ff666c to be exact. Words: 2 No issues with spelling or grammar. Only the minor issue with the colors of the links that I already pointed out. Presentation: 1.5 I like the layout, I love that it's plain. But it seems just a tad too plain. A little pizzazz here and there would really help to spice it up and keep everyone coming back for more. |

Your site is not even compatible enough with Firefox for me to tell what it is, let alone review it. I shouldn't have to open Internet Explorer, you need to work on the compatibility issues your site has. Animated backgrounds are huge no no. As is music that cannot be stopped! I don't even want to leave your site open, let alone come back. And any songs with inappropriate lyrics should not be offered on Neopets, at all. Organization: 1.5 The songs are well organized, the rest of the site... sort of. Colors: 1 Nonexistent. Gray, black, white. Those are nuetrals, tertiary colors, meant to be in a supporting role, not dancing center stage. Words: 2 No issues with the grammar and spelling, and all of the text is easy to read. Presentation: 1.5 Overall, I don't like it. It's plain, and just kind of cobbled together from several elements, none of which you can claim as your own. A dedicated layout, made specifically for your site, hopefully by you, would do plenty to improve your site's appeal. |
Glamour Lights: 5/10

I really like the image part of the layout, even though the colors don't mesh well. You have entirely too many little boxes everywhere, makes the site look very cluttered. The text headers for the boxes is gaudy and unattractive. Why are the boxes for your blog bright pink? Organization: 1 Anchor links only help so much. When I clicked on one, it took me a second to figure out which text box contained the content I was looking for. You really need to rethink this layout, it's simply doesn't do. It's just a giant mess, and if I were just stopping by, I certainly wouldn't stick around long enough to bother rooting around for anything. Colors: 1.5 I have to give your credit for trying to keep things interesting and upbeat; however, the primary blue in the image really sticks out next to the warmer pinks and oranges. For a more acceptable contrast, you should have used a more mellow cool color that binds well to warm hues. The colors used on the rest of the layout are just out there, and don't seem to corelate to the image at all. Words: .5 Several spelling and grammar mistakes were found in the first paragraph. Today, not "to day"; feel, not "fill; our not "are"; lacking commas and other pertinent punctuation. And yet again, that was in the first paragraph alone. Presentation: 1 Overall, the whole site is lackluster and sloppy. Some of your work is very nice, others are not. You need to go through all that you have to offer and pare things down. Get rid of all of the things that are lower quality, even it means you don't have as much to offer. A site with a few pieces that are very nice is more appealing than a site with a bunch of junk. |

I like the blue, but the blue of the background doesn't really match the header image. And some different colors would be a nice little punch. Organization: 2 Everything is easy enough to find, but you have just enough content to warrant some anchor links so that it's easier to find exaclty what you're looking for. Colors: 1.5 Monochromatic, ack. Let's look at some pallettes that use the same blues as your background: ![]()

So adorable! I love the layout, as soon as I open it I smile because it's so cute. Organization: 2 Excellent. Your site is very easy to navigate and everything is grouped together very well. One issue, when you click on "FAQ" or "Past Layouts", the links for "Resources" and "Scribbles" disappears. Colors: 2 The pinks and blues look lovely together, and I like the varying shades and the occasional pops of color. Words: 2 All punctuation and grammar is utilized correctly and the text and links can be read clearly and easily. Presentation: 2 It's just a pretty, well put together layout. You have immense pixeling talents, and obviously enjoy what you do. Very lovely =3. |

When I first opened your site, some of the DIVs were off in Firefox, so to give you a fair screen shot and review I opened up IE (which I actually dislike to do greatly, but as I chose to and wasn't forced to by your site, I won't mark off on). When I viewed it with IE, however, the music codes were back in place, but your third column seems out in the middle of right field. Is that on purpose?

Nice header image, very cute =D. Love the texture on the background, subdued but interesting. Organization: 1.5 Navigation is easy to find, easy to use. Welcome and updates could be made more compact and moved to the left side under the navigation. Colors: 2 The blues and purples play very nicely together. But you could do more and bring the browns, grays and small amounts of pink out of the image to use as accessory colors. Words: 2 The text and links could be more exciting and original, but other than that no issues. Presentation: 2 I like the over all layout, and the abundance of information. Your headers would look more neat if they spanned the entire text space, try using "display:block;". |

Dark Light: 6/10
First Impression: 1
Rather dark and drab. The header is overly busy and not a welcoming site upon first opening your site. Tone it down a notch. Organization: 1 You need to do some major pruning. I can barely find your graphics, why do I have to scroll to the bottom to find what your site claims to be offering? Refocus the spotlight of your site on your graphics, because if I wasn't reviewing your site I wouldn't have made it to the end and discovered your graphics, I would have given up the hunt and just left. Take away all that extra stuff and just pare it down to the essentials, no need for a site pet, links to your other sites or a to do list that says nothing! Colors: 1.5 I like that you've tried to incorporate different colors and jazz it up, but lets get a more soothing tempo in this riff. a thousand and one colors and none of them feel like they are connecting well. You can pull of the rainbow look, just make sure to keep all of the colors close. Make them all bright, pastels, warm or cool. Just avoid too much color disparity with darker shades, as this just looks schlumpy. Words: 1.5 If you want to draw attention to words, do not bold, underline make bright and CAPITALIZE all at the same time. That just makes it look obnoxious and pushes the eye away. Presentation: 1 If your really enjoy making graphics, then you need to put more effort into it. |
Snowglobe Reviews: 7.5/10

Pink and white tables on a solid black bacground? Somewhat blinding at first. Organization: 1 Eeek, more like lack there of. You need to do some major tidying. Bring your review outline down and left with your rules and other site specific information, this will help to bring the main focus of your site, your reviews, up where they belong. I do appreciate that all of the buttonage is on kept to the right bar and together. And your disclaimer is unnecessary, people understand that it's your opinion, and they're asking for it. Colors: 1.5 It feels like you are trying to go for a edgier look, but the disparity between the pink and black is too much. You really haven't brought those colors together well. And you have two shades of pink (one cooler and the other warmer) that really aren't meshing well. Words: 2 No spelling or grammatical issues and easy to read. Presentation: 1.5 Making your tables as wide as you image will give a nice look of uniformity, and adding some texture to your back ground (stripes, dots, low key patterns, anything) will really help to make the content pop. That solid black is just drab. |

I understand that we can't make our websites 100% compatible with all browsers, and we tend to favor the ones we use most often, but your site is a complete mess in Firefox. Really. It doesn't seem as though you put any effort into cleaning up your coding so that it could at least be accessed via Firefox. I don't like having to actually click on my Start button and scroll around my Programs. IE isn't on my quick launch or my desktop, and to even review your site I have to crank it up. That's a serious issue, and you really need to make your site more accessible. Organization: 2 Nicely laid out and easy to find everything. Your marquees are moving too fast, I barely have enough time to click, let alone read the button. Colors: 1.5 Pink is an absolutely great color, however, it shouldn't be the only color. As a tertiary color, it seems black is vying for space and attention, but really just gets washed out. Words: 2 The gray needs to be slightly darker, you can read it, it's just a bit of a strain on the white background. Presentation: 2 Overall very nice, but you really need to acclimate your layouts to be more browser friendly. |

The brown is a lovely backdrop for the pink and blue. The header image is a little to high in contrast, and the white text is hard to read. Could also use a little feathering or shaping on the edges, the way it is makes it look a little undone.

Defying Gravity Reviews: 9/10
First Impression: 2 Great shade of green, love the bold borders on the tables. Organization: 2 Anchor links at the top of the page are a very nice idea. Colors: 1.5 I love the green, but it looks like the links are slightly more blue than the rest of the green in the layout. I like how you brought in the blue and gold colors, it's nice to see some complementary color. I would maybe use a more yellow gold, and maybe a red instead of blue, just to keep the intensity flowing with the colors. Words: 2 Punctuation and spelling in place, font is clear and easy to read. Presentation: 1.5 I love how dramatic the layout is, it seems a bit like organized chaos, which just seems to work with it very well! |
