So, what is the purpose of this page? Simply to explain the basics of the famous Laboratory Ray. I have always been obsessed and currently have the maximum 5 lab rays. I will be sharing my statistics of how often I receive good and bad changes. I should gather data pretty quickly since 5 times each day I'll be zapping a pet. Also, just for fun I added my PetPet Lab Ray Changes. If you see any changes necessary feel free to neomail me. And I am always looking for affies or directories to be listed in. Lab Map Basic Info

Access to the Secret Laboratory Ray is obtained by purchasing all 9 different pieces of the Secret Laboratory Map and then going to the ray.

1. Buy the Pieces
Four of the nine are buyable and can be found on the Shop Wizard. The other 5 are unbuyable (above 100,000nps) and can be found on the Trading Post. Tip: Play KeyQuest, as Gold Keys often unlock map pieces

2. Go to the Lab
If you go to games it is under puzzles. You will see Treasure Maps. Or just click HERE Petpet lab is also accessed by following the link to Treasure Maps.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What can the Laboratory Ray do to my pet?
It can increase or decrease the stats, change the gender, color and species.

What are the Laboratory Ray-only colors?
Alien for Aisha, MSP for Poogle, Marshamallow for Grundo, and for all: Robot, Clay, Jelly, Custard, Ice, Coconut, Garlic, Onion_ Snot, Sponge.

What colors does the Lab Ray NOT do?
Baby, Plushie, Pirate, Royal, Quiguki, Usiki.

So, can I resell the pieces after I have access?
No, the pieces disappear once you begin access.

How often can I use it?
One pet, once a day.

Can I have one on my side?
Of course.

Can I zap my converted pet?
At your own risk! Any species or color change, or in the case of royal a gender change, will result in converting your pet!

Do I get anything besides access to the ray?
Additionally when you turn in the pieces you will recieve 8,000-20,000nps.

So, is there an avatar?
Of course, if your pet is changed into a different species.

Can I get LE or restricted pets?
Yep, as you can see I've gotten LEs and restricted pets such as Krawks and now Draiks have been reported.

Any lab ray only colors?
Of course.

About 800,000nps. But hopefully now you can decide if it's worth it!

What about the battledome challenger?
You can receive the Lab Ray Scientist as a challenger if you refresh on the ending page of the lab. Battling him can lead to a gender change and is generally the best way to change a gender.

PetPet Laboratory Ray

I bought all nine pieces, but I still didn't recieve access!?
Access will only be granted if you already have access to the Pet Lab Ray.

What can it do?
Change species, color, name, level, and make it disappear.

So, can I resell the pieces after I have access?
No, the pieces disappear once you begin access.

How often can I use it?
One petpet, once a day.

If it turns into a pile of soot will it stop being usable and changing?
It can eventually change back into a pet.

Can I have one on my side?
Of course.

How much does it cost?
600nps-800nps a piece. The Trading Post generally has complete sets for about 7,500nps, so it is pretty cheap.

How do I get there?

Cool, so I can unattach the pet and sell it!?
No, the petpet will revert to it's original form once the petpet is removed. This is why zapping cheap petpet is suggested because noone knows what it was originally and there is no neopoint profit from the change, just asthetically and by level.

Oh, can I paint the petpet?
Zapped petpets may not be painted.

I bought the map and activated it but there's a square around my petpet and it won't let me select it to zap!?
You much name your pet first.

I got a Krawk petpet! Can I use it in the Fungus Caves?
Nope. Why? That's just the way it is.

Ew, I hate the name, Mr Droobles?! Can I change it?
Yes, if you are stuck with an unfortunate petpet name or you already have a desired one it is changeable easily.

So, is there an avatar?
Of course, if your pet is turned to sludge.

August 09, 2009 Major changes :) I hope you like this new do up. And I'm putting one lab account on hiatus because of the adoption request so Boleir is on a break. Please neomail me questions about the lab so I can add them here. I check the boards and those give me some ideas but yep.

August 04, 2009 So the website is up and running with a few glitches, seeing as it won't let me have 3 columns, no matter what it shows in preview. I will try to fix this so the layout seems more organized because it is slightly bugging me. But anywho.... I entered a contest ^ see above. And just am waiting for a good zap :P
