Hello guest, I am humphrey he grins a wide, Cheshire grin as you cocked your eyebrows and tried to look past him. Surely there must be something more interesting...? Or -god forbid- are you going to be stuck here with this serious hippie nutcase? All you had wanted was a neocola for your parched throat... Wait -how the heck did he know your name?

I don't know actually, I think hXe had the code for it installed somewhere... See, people come and visit everyday, I can't keep track of their names... Come into my little house? He doesn't wait for an answer, grabs you by the hand and practically drags you inside, half-skipping.

This was a very undesirable situation to be in. You almost wished the page would violate a Neopets html rule and he left you alone.

However because of Hanqing monopolising the character development, that's where hXe comes in as a singular person (imagine three people running around neopia with a single pet!) hXe is blur, confused, yet a bit seasoned into the game to roll her eyes at weirder moments.

I came to the world on a wet morning. hXe had come into Neopia, and blocking herself from the droplets of rain with a piece of the Neopian Times, she walked towards the Creat-a-Neopet machine. Too excited at finally spying the contraption, she accidentally tore the NT down the middle, and surrendered to the drizzle. Pressing a few buttons, and toggling the switches, she smiled as the machine whirred.

She had created her first neopet, an elephante by the name of iamhumphrey. Now, she can laugh at her friends. Of course -what came after but an eternity of absence? It was a yellow elephante.

ooh," hXe hurried over and looked down. I must have stared with her with some ridiculous cuteness or something, because she immediately went, "oh" and brought me home. Home, to a little sheltered area beside the Uni's Clothing Store. We had no neohome, no shop and no money, so we went to get the newbie pack. And we got lynncheng, but that's another story and can be viewed at my petpet spotlight.

We didn't have a lot of money, and I spent time alone, berating myself. Why was my owner so mean, creating me for no other purposes than to crack a joke? She had apologised, and told me a final goodbye as she headed out.

But she didn't keep that promise, and a weekly visit turned into a devotion. She confirmed it, and created three more neopets to share a family with. I was really happy with life then, satisfied by the little healthy food we begged, or hours of playing Pyramids. Finally, a lucky break came, and we came upon a huge sum of money (sources not to be revealed)

And one day... "hey humphrey?"

huh?"

would you like to be painted?"

We went to the rainbow pool, my sisters in a tussle over who's getting the weeble. I was so excited. They told me I could be painted an array of colours, and held up charts for me to see, told me about the statistics, and I decided. I wanted to be a rainbow elephante. They were curiously loveable in their gaudiness, a cheering-up factor.

I wanted to be glue then, to fix problems, to let everyone around me be happy. I have since realised that such a thing won't come easy, but I've also learnt to accept that, because everything can be positive, one way or another.

We went to the marketplace, but found none, and the trading post faerie freaked milkpacket out. We finally found an auction for a rainbow paintbrush, and we bidded, waiting eagerly. After an hour or so, I had my paintbrush cradled in my arms, and we were on our way to the rainbow pool.

The sensation of being painted is odd, like a warm tricking and a small period of time where you feel rather awkward, like you have been zipped out of your skin and given a new one. I got used to the stares, and smiled back instead.

Everyone smiles in the end.

It is rather curious, but everytime it rains, my rainbow paint will seep off. I won't fade, of course, but miaomiao was around, and found her paws rainbow. She poked me with her tail, and it turned from that horrible pink to streaks of rainbow. She wasn't herself that day, giggling and being extra nice to everyone. But the paint fades, we discovered, and breathlessly she slumps, complaining again, that jumping around was so "not her" and it was tiresome.

I don't know why it happens, but hXe always says things happens in Neopia, and they don't need any other reason to happen than that they are wonderful.

The first part of hXe is Hanqing. She's here most of the time, holding down the fort, delivering heartfelt neomails and calming down rabid fans. She is really attentive, and makes sure we are always bloated. Because nobody can see the status of a pet's hunger, many people don't bother, and leave their pets' stomachs growling. Hanqing always buys toys for us, and takes our photos. She made the pictures you see here, just that she has yet to learn how to code properly.

Also, she insisted on writing her own portion.

YiXian

Yixian is a more level-headed person, usually silently playing games and feeding us the occasional bit of jelly (no, that world you're thinking o doesn't exist. jelly comes from...the Jelly Faerie.) She's the reason why our neopoints are still there, because she bites if hanqing or limmin approaches the money. Think of the support of a building. The support of the Leaning Tower of Pizzaroo.

Limmin

Limmin is a ridiculous person. She doesn't come often but when she does I always follow close behind to make sure she doesn't sell off our Vo Codestone for 60NP. Hanqing always tells me that I should poke her once in a while just to watch her response, but that isn't really nice... miaomiao seems to love bullying her though, so Limmin always runs to me screaming when she comes in and miaomiao happens to be the active pet.

iammiaomiao

we call her miao, or miaomiao. Like her owner she has a bit of mean streak and is often grumpy. But to outsiders she is really charming and all, the doublefaced weirdo. She painted patterns on herself and sneaked out to play wingoball to buy her accessories, all just to get rid of "overtly-glamorous painted heartless freaks". Which almost always results in her and her Darigan Quetzal biting me. Ouch.

iammilkpacket

Milk Packet is a bit... odd. She really wants to be a baby gnorbu, and continuously whines when we explain to her that it is far too expensive. hXe routinely ignores her loud whines, which usually leaves me to settle her business. Recently she seems to have acquired a Red Arkmite, a mean thing she keeps in a tank and hops onto the couch every once in a while to chew out the stuffing. Recently Hanqing turned her page into an FAQ and storage for pictures of sorts while she was in the neolodge, and nobody dares to tell her now that she has a vicious petpet.

YX is a nice, silent eyrie whom i always chat to (that is, till either miaomiao or milk bursts onto the scene screaming) He always seems a bit too down-to-earth, usually he reads and just stones in a beanbag, playing with that weird fishy creature he has for a petpet. He cannot use his wings because of some mishap with the Create-A-Neopet, but that is his story.

(By that she actually means "I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRAW ELEPHANTES OMGZ. !!1!!!!one!)
