If you're visiting this page, chances are you want to make sure your application to neo.anxious is absolutely perfect. And, chances are, after reading this page, it will be!

What does it mean to be literate?

Being literate means to do the following:

proper spelling and vocabulary.

proper punctuation (this includes quotes!).

capitalization at the starts of sentences and proper nouns.

spaces before parentheses and after commas.

NO CHATSPEAK!

A Few Notes

We generally accept 1/5 of the members who apply. Once we had someone apply five times (and got rejected five times).

Different members of the member adoption committee base your application on different things. Some people are harsher, and some are less.

We're not asking for long applications, but they tend to look like you put more effort in them. However, if you can express yourself in a short application, go right ahead!

If you're not literate or you use chatspeak, you most likely will NOT be accepted. Yes, we've heard we have very high standards, but we don't plan on lowering them anytime soon, because we don't need a million members in the guild. We're very exclusive, and that's part of what makes us a family.

As stated on our FAQ page, we do not judge people. That means no matter how good your account is, how old you are, or who you know, it will not help or hurt you in the application process. Every applicant is equal in our minds.

The Application

Name: A one word answer is fine, but one time we had someone write a paragraph on this question (she didn't get accepted the first time).

Tell us about yourself in four words: Don't put the usual funny, smart, creative, kind, etc. Put something unique that'll make you stand out!

Your favorite Neoboard and why: We try to get a sense of what kind of person you are here. Do you like to roleplay because people are literate, do you love the avatar chat because you love competing, do you like the help boards because you love offering a hand, and so on. Don't post a really obvious answer like: Quests because people help me with quests. Well, duh! We want a good explanation.

What do you think about Rainbow Dung (the item)? We've had a few people say they don't like or don't like the item, and we've had a few people say it's pretty. Then there are the people who say they own or collect it. Frankly, we don't care what you think of rainbow dung. This question is here to assess your humor and more of your personality. Chances are, if you say something funny, we'll like you already!

Why do you want to join neo.anxious? Please, oh please, don't ever list a reference in this answer. We do not want to see "because I saw your guild on avatar chat and it looks fun" and not "because USERNAME, my friend, told me it was really good," certainly not "because I'm guildless and I saw you advertising." References are absolutely HORRID and will get you an automatic rejection letter. This question is for us to see if neo.anxious is really the one for you, or you're just looking for a guild, any guild. You have to WANT to join this guild. We don't want to hear "because it sounds like a great guild" or "because I know this is the perfect guild for me." We'd like you to explain WHY this guild is so great! Your opinion matters, it really does. This is usually the lengthiest part of the application.
