My First Neohome (2001)

I built my first neohome in the summer of 2001. It was all on the ground floor and was later surrounded by gardens (of which I no longer have images). The selection of furniture items was a fraction of what it is now. Many of them were much larger than they are today, with the notable exception of the bean bags, which weren't even big enough to use as footstools! (see in Play room) The only bath room item available was the Bath Tub, and the only kitchen item was the Stone Kitchen Shelf Unit.

You will see that we have things much better today, although I kind of miss the days when the Small Table Lamp was actually smaller than the Large Table Lamp and the Green Sofa and Green Seat were so big and comfy looking that you wanted to curl up in them. :)

Cytherea007's Neohome (2005)

On April 22, 2005 the Neohome Spotlight was awarded to cytherea007. Neohomers were stunned by this beautiful home which introduced a new creative flair to neohoming with its extensive tiling, items made out of other items, outdoor elements inside rooms, and interesting room connections. It raised the bar and influenced serious neohomers from that time forward. Her home no longer exists, but below you can see screen shots of it, along with the layout and description she wrote for the spotlight entry.

Welcome to Neopia's first interactive neohome! Everyone loves games, or we wouldn't be here right? So we've decided to take it one step further and make our parts of our neohome into a game. Of course, games are not much fun unless you're relaxed, so before we move onto the games, why don't we first take a moment to tour the beautiful home we have created..

Tsolten is a master craftsmen, so you will see many original handcrafted pieces in our neohome. From the beautiful hand carved stage, made of only the finest wood, which completes our opera house, to the ebony black baby grand piano found in our jazz lounge, to our simple yet elegant inlaid dining room table, Tsolten is confident he has created something unique for our guests to enjoy.

Our home is built around relaxation and leisure, and our pride and joy is our serene moonlight lounge. Here guests can unwind and enjoy a drink in cool fresh air, while listening to the soothing sounds of the waterfalls in our rock pools. After they are relaxed, visitors will take pleasure in wonderful home-cooked meals served in our elegant dining room. Our master chefs prepare all meals on premises in our gourmet kitchen, complete with antique wood burning stove. After dinner, you may enjoy the nightly show at our famous opera house.. you never know who is going to perform! Or, if opera is not your style, why not have a pint while catching the game on our big screen TV, play a game of darts, or simply settle into a good conversation near a roaring fire in our charming den.

While you are here, please feel free to explore a bit, we have many rooms to capture almost any fancy. Animal lovers will enjoy a visit to our snorkle pen, where our little snorkles are kept content. Although we have had a bit of a problem with symols there lately.. so please excuse any holes they may have dug. If you would prefer to go for a swim, head out back to the pool house, our indoor pool and Jacuzzi is open year round. Or why not take a stroll through our enclosed vineyards? Have a glass of our homemade wine while you're there! Or take a stroll through our oversized garden.. here we have imported lush tropical flowers unseen anywhere else in Neopia. Head upstairs to relax on our outdoor terrace, with spectacular views of the Neopian countryside. The views here are truly breathtaking, especially in the summer months. But if summer is too hot for you, you can always cool down in our winter wonderland; here you can play in the snow year round, build a snowman, or even go skating on the ice lake.. just don't fall through! After dark, please feel free to venture onto our private observation deck for an unparalleled view of the stars.. the sky is always crystal clear and alive with constellations at night. Watch closely and you might even see a few shooting stars!

Upstairs you will find the focal point of our home, the indoor aquarium. We love nature, as you can tell by our many flower and fountains scattered about the premises, and we were thrilled to be able to bring the ocean indoors. The four rooms surrounding the aquarium all have solid glass viewing walls, and the views of the coral reef are spectacular. Have a drink to live music as you watch the fish swim by in our jazz lounge, battle it out with views of the sea in our Jelly Arena, explore the wonders of the ocean in our Aquarium Center, or simply laze on a comfy sofa in our Aquarium Lounge. But please do not tap on the glass or you might upset the meepitfish!

It is upstairs that we have finally come to our game rooms. An avid gamer, Tsolten has put a great deal of thought into our games, and we hope you will enjoy playing them as much as he has enjoyed creating them! For starters, there is the water maze room that might prove to be a bit slippery for some;) But the main attraction is our avatar hunting rooms. Seeing as though Cyth's an avatar collector, and loves games, Tsolten decided to create something especially for her. All the items in each room are, you guessed it, related to an avatar.. and the game is in figuring out what each item is! Some are fairly easy and obvious, while others require a bit more thought. Since this is Tsolten's pet project, you will find all the rules, as well as hints and answers, on his petpage. Have fun avatar hunting!

Well, we hope you have enjoyed your visit.. we'd love to have you back again, as we are constantly expanding and re-inventing our home! While you are here, please do enjoy all that we have to offer, but one final word of caution. Please, whatever you do, do not unlock the door to the storage area. Some weeks back we made the mistake of adopting a small furry petpet from a seemingly nice alien aisha.. but within hours the petpet had replicated itself several times over. Everyday there are more, and it is getting to a point where we can no longer control them. Luckily we have managed to contain them within the storage room or else we are sure they'd overrun the house! So please, enjoy the rest of the house, but the leave the fuzzles alone.
