Welcome to my screenie help page! This page is dedicated to those who love reading those funny screenies and want to make their own! There are some pictures on this page to guide you, as well as my explanations. If you don't see the pictures, refresh the page and they should appear. Good luck! Ok, so now that that is out of the way, lets get to the basics of creating a screenie!

First, go search the messageboards for that perfect person to make your perfect screenie of! :) I usually check on the 'Evil Things and Monster Sightings', 'Fan Clubs', 'Ideas/Suggestions', or 'Merchandising' boards. For some reason, the perfect screenies are always found on those! Anyways, after you have found your perfect screenie, press the 'Print Scrn' button on your keyboard. This button is usually located above the 'Insert' button (which is above the arrow keys), and to the right of the F12 button. The button may have 'SysRq' on it as well.

Then, open up your program. Most computers already have the program 'Paint' when you buy them. So that is the easiest one to use if you don't want to buy a program or download a free trial. Other programs are Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, Fireworks, etc.

When the program has opened up, paste your screenie. If you are using paint, go to 'Edit', then 'Paste'.

The whole screen of your computer should appear in the program. Now, you want to crop your image. Click the dotted box on the left in your 'Paint' program.

Then, click and drag your cursor so that you create a box around just the part of the screenie that you would like to display. Then, right click inside the box and click 'Copy'.

Now, you are done with that step so open up a new 'Paint' screen. There is no need to save changes.

In the new screen, go to 'Edit' and then 'Paste', just as you did earlier. The new cropped image should appear. Now it is time to customize your screenie! Click the 'A' button on the left if you would like to type something on your screenie. Use the 'Eraser' tool if you would like to delete someones username on the screenie. Fool around with the other buttons if you would like to add more effects.

When you are done, save your screenie as .png, .gif, or .jpg. I find that .gif and .jpg make the screenie become blurry so your best bet is probably .png. Don't use .bmp because the screenie will turn out too small.
Then, upload your screenie to a site such as photobucket.com. You will need to sign up first and make an account, which is absolutely free! And there you go! Copy the code in the 2nd box to your petpage and the screenie should appear!
