Request Info

You can request up to 5 pngs at a time. Include all requests in one neomail using the form provided below.

I do not do full backgrounds. They are fairly easy to do yourself, since you don't have to worry about transparency (see DIY Tutorial if you don't know how). I can, however, cut out specific parts of a background.

I do not do custom artwork. Requests must come from existing flash images (ie. wearables, etc) or these neopets backgrounds. I enlarge, capture, and make them background transparent for you. That's it. Nothing fancy.

Pick-ups are not exclusive. Even if you were the one requesting a png, anyone can use it.

Request Speed: Fast. I'm online every day. In most cases, you can expect your request to be finished the same day I receive it.

DIY Tutorial

First a quick glossary:
PNG - (Portable Network Graphic) An image file format that supports transparency and 24-bit color without losing image quality.
SWF - (Small Web Format) A compiled, viewable-only, flash file. Used for pretty much anything animated on Neopets.com.

How do I make my own PNGs from SWFs? (Safari)

1. Locate the SWF url and open in new tab.

TIP: Lilacia's SWF Collection and The Image Closet have enormous collections of SWF urls for you here and here, respectively. If you can't find the one you need there, however, keep reading...

1a. Go to the page that shows the flash image you want to enlarge and capture.

1b. Select Safari → Window → Activity.

1c. Look for URLs ending in . swf. There may be one or several of them. Open each one until you find the image you want. I usually find them near the bottom of the Activity list since they're typically the last to load.

TIP: SWF urls starting with [ images.neopets.com/cp/bio/swf ] will show parts of a pet's body.
SWFs starting with [ images.neopets.com/cp/items/swf ] will show wearable items, which is probably what you're looking for.

Alternative Method in Safari: SWFs can also be found by using Lilacia's method here (scroll to the bottom).

2. Capture it.

2a. Right-click and select "Zoom in" if you want it bigger.

2b. Use screen capture. Unfortunately, you'll notice you can't right-click and "save as" the swf file like you can other images. Therefore you'll need to use screen capture (PrintScreen key for PC Users, or Apple command key ⌘ + Shift + 3 for Mac users).

3b. Save and edit in your favorite image editing program. DONE!

How do you make your PNGs transparent?

For full backgrounds, you don't need to worry about this.
For other images, most people "cut out" the background in an image editing program like Adobe Photoshop. However, this is problematic for images that are semi-transparent, such as see-through cloth, ice, or items that "glow".

The Bad News: There IS a way to get a perfectly transparent/semi-transparent PNG without having to cut out the background yourself, but the method I use involves third party software that, for everyone's safety, I cannot share with you here.

The Good News: This is why I'm happy to do requests, so I can do it for you. Don't be afraid to make a request, if requests are open (which they almost always are)! Turning an SWF into a perfectly transparent PNG only takes me a minute.

Why can't I do this in Firefox/Chrome/IE?

Safari is the only browser I know of at this time that can find the embedded SWF files easily.

Searching for SWF files in Firefox will only find the SWF container, something such as customNeopetViewer_v35.swf. It's basically an empty container that points to the real SWF, which is too difficult (involving breaking down code) to be worth your time. The easy solution is to simply use Safari, which is available for Mac and PC users.

As far as Chrome and IE, I'm assuming you will run into the same problem as Firefox, but I will update this section when and if I get more information on them.
