nothing is crueler

than children who come from good homes

You are not safe.
We are your reflection beneath the surface, the first paw that touches the water, the eyes that break the silence. We are the drowned, the myths.

And only the fearful will survive.

Your parents warned you, never to run too close to the water. The eels are the least of your problems, if you survive their savage greetings, you might be so lucky as to meet one of us.

i fought the war

but the war won't stop for the love of god

born

I have no recollection of my father.
My mother was a beautiful, young canine; oppressed by the currents of the seas. Although she was fully capable, as I am, to wander upon the land, she rejected the idea of it. Her aggression against change is what led to the death of my four other siblings, none of which I had the chance to know, nor miss, as they died before I was born.

I was the youngest, with my brother, Zamqua, the oldest. He was the only other whos lungs were strong enough to immediately begin filtering the water.

I suppose I could bicker and whine about my life; barren of my mother, who perished when I was young, and my siblings, who couldn't survive the sea, but I have no attatchment to them. I don't understand what "to miss" is, but I have a relative idea, I suppose.

growing up

I have never been one to wander in the what-if's of the past. My mother has always reminded me that. She has told me it is a strength of mine.

After my mother perished, I was taken to Xireh, the Goddess of the Coffin. I cannot remember a time when Xireh was not in my life.
As a mentor, she taught me how to hunt.
As a mother, she taught me to be headstrong.
And as a love, she taught me never to.

present

It is not I you have to fear, when your toes touch the bottom of the seas. I nip, like the sharks, but pose nowhere near a threat as my dear brother or mother. You will die of dehydration before you dare set foot into a body of water that either of the two drift through.

And if the eels don't get you, they will.

and he beat him

hands down; lead in his head

Xireh, my mentor, my predessecor, my mother. The female who raised me since my memory allows, she has given me access of the Coffin, free of the eels. The waterways are mine. For her hospitality, I am forever grateful, and will guard her with my life. She fails to notice her beauty; decay never looked so good.

My identical, brother, Zamqua. Between us, he is the more sadistic; thus I pray thee watch thine steps while treading in the water. While I bite; he sets out to damage. While we have the same build; the only difference that seperates us,(besides gender) is the albinism that effects him.
