Hello, my name's Fanfyr, I'm glad you stopped by! Can I offer you a blueberry faerie bubble? Oh, I see you're admiring my wings. They actually have quite a history. You've probably heard of people asking where the Meerca got it's tail, or the
Kougra its stripes, but have you ever stopped to ponder how us faerie neopets got our wings? Well, most neopets today get their wings from a faerie paint brush. But long ago, there were brave, kind, and adventurous neopets who were
the first of their kind to become faeries and opened the door for all of us to fly, too. There are four main stories about faerie neopets.
Which story would you like to hear first?
A Lupe's Tail
The Ugly Lenny
An Exceptional Grundo
Faerie Tale: A Krawk's Story
Would you like to hear a little about myself? Well, I am a male, faerie Krawk. Don't laugh, there's nothing wrong with being a male faerie.
Though I don't look it, I'm currently 57611 hours old. That's approximately six years. Pretty old huh? I'm actually so old that neither me nor my owner can remember how I was created. We think my owner created me from a Krawk petpet, but I have no idea how I came to be faerie. It doesn't really bother me though; I like being mysterious ;) While I'm older than most neopets (and some kids who play neopets), my siblings and I are all about the same age, so I don't get seniority over anything :(
Originally, Peach was a Greeble, but we took her to that crazy Kookith's lab and he zapped her into the ball of wings you see before you. Even though Peach's labeled as a "spooky" petpet, I don't think she's spooky at all. Adorable maybe, but not spooky.
Peach likes to follow me around when I go flying in Faerie City. It's nice having a petpet that can keep up with me :) I can't wait for the rainbow pool to come out with some cool colors for Batterflies to be painted; maybe Peach will go faerie!

We got a very kind artist on the neoboards to draw a portrait of yours truly :P Don't I look RAVISHING?

And here's a picture lumnatii did of the beautiful Fyora:

Faerie Paint Brush-Well, doesn't every neopet want to be a faerie?

I think it is safe to say that my least favorite "faerie" is the happiness faerie. Watch out for this imposter! He will probably leave you with the opposite of happiness!
That's enough about me! Let's get on with the faerie tales!
While the family was poor, the love they had for each other kept them going. Tragically, Puck's mother died one winter from neomonia. Puck's father was devastated, and he couldn't bring himself to take proper care of his son. In an act of desperation, his father apprenticed Puck off to a knight in the hopes that would have a better life.
The knight that Puck was to serve was named Sir Herod. He was already quite established in fame and fortune, having won many tournaments around Meridell. He had hired Puck as an apprentice partly because he needed someone to wipe his boots and partly because he felt sorry for the boy.
Many years passed and Puck served Sir Herod well. He helped the knight train for many tournaments, growing almost as skilled as the knight himself. Though Puck had traveled far from his home, he still heard about the terrible lord who owned his father's land. Puck sometimes wondered if his father was still there, if he had moved, or died from loneliness and old age.
While he was one of the best knights in Meridell during his prime, Sir Herod was growing old. One day he was feeling particularly weak; unfortunately, he expected was to joust in a very prestigious tournament held at Meridell Castle. Herod realized his time as a knight was coming to an end, but he did not want to disappoint the people waiting for him at the tournament. He turned to his apprentice and said:
Puck, you have served me well over the many years we have traveled together. I am too weak to joust any longer, so today, you will be the knight.
Needless to say, Puck was astonished, as only people of noble birth were allowed to participate in tournaments. Nevertheless, Herod instructed Puck to dress in his armor and pretend to be a knight. Herod would dress in Puck's ragged apprentice clothes and pretend to be Puck's father.
So far, Puck had beaten every opponent in the tournament. He was thrilled to have proven himself to his master, and for the large amount of gold he could possibly earn if he won this next round. He now glared at his armor-covered opponent across the arena. Puck was barely listening as the announcer called the names of the two competitors. Halfway through the announcer's speech, Puck froze. The name of his opponent was strangely familiar. Where had he heard it before? Suddenly his opponent lifted his helmet to wipe the sweat off his brow. Then Puck knew. He recognized the hulking form of a mottled green Skeith that had forced his family to live in poverty for so many years. Overcome with rage, Puck forgot himself and charged madly at his opponent. The Skeith was old, but very strong, and rammed into Puck with an overwhelming force. After the impact, Puck reeled backwards in pain. Herod rushed up to him to survey the damage: A large splinter from the lance was sticking right out of Puck's shoulder.
If you cannot joust again we lose," Herod reminded Puck. "But that is alright. You have proven your ability to me and made me proud.
But all Puck could think about was his dead mother and his unknown father, and with a cry, he wrenched the splinter out of his shoulder.
I promise, Sir Herod, I will win," growled Puck.
He turned around to face the Skeith again, and could tell, even under the armored mask, that the Skeith was wearing a filthy, arrogant smirk. The flag dropped and both riders charged at each other with great skill. Puck struck the Skieth with all his might and sent the over-sized green lizard tumbling to the ground, giving Puck the victory. The crowd around him erupted into thunderous cheering and applause, and as he turned around to see the ecstatic look on Sir Herod's face, everything turned black and he fainted.
Puck? Puck, are you awake?
Puck slowly opened his eyes and recognized Herod's face. He also recognized the fact that he was sore all over. The cheering had stopped and he was lying in a tent just outside the tournament arena. Herod wasn't the only one in the tent with him, however. A beautiful, radiant face was looking down at him.
Puck, this is Illusen, Meridell's faerie,' Herod said.
Puck was too shocked to say anything. He had never seen a real faerie before, let alone the famous Illusen.
Puck,' she said in a ringing voice, 'I was very impressed with your bravery today. I know you have been separated from your father for a very long time. I think I can help you find him...'
Puck fainted again with Illusen's words echoing in his head.
Puck awoke feeling healed and refreshed. As he walked up to the river to get a drink of water, he noticed a beautiful lupe in the reflection of the water.
Oh, sorry, I didn't realize anyone was here,' stammered Puck.
But no one was there. It was his reflection, staring back at him out of the water. Puck gasped as he surveyed his long glowing wings and light blue fur.
Puck slowly realized what this meant. 'I can cover ground ten times as fast now! With the money from the tournament and these wings, I'll be able to search for my father at last!
As Puck told Herod of his plan, the old knight nodded and smiled.
I knew you would leave again someday,' he said. 'And now is the right time. Tell your father I wish him the best.
Puck found his father living in the same old house that he had grown up in. It, and the rest of the village was crumbling to bits, while the people who still lived there remained starving and sick. Puck bought the land from the Skeith Lord with some of his winnings from the tournament and pulled the people out of poverty and hunger. He continued to win tournaments, and because of his unearthly beauty no one ever questioned his noble lineage. Puck used the prize money to become the most generous Lord that Meridell had ever seen, and that made his father the proudest of all.
