A Fair Warning

Introduction

You are sitting around doing...well, doing whatever you usually tend to do, when you spot a tall figure. As it draws closer, you see that it's a gelert. The gelert seems to be getting closer pretty quickly. It seems he is running towards you and...uh oh. You'd better run. Unfortunately you trip, and as the gelert gets close, he stumbles and begins to tumble towards you uncontrollably. BAM! You were hit by the tumbling gelert, whom had stopped tumbling when he ran into you. "Whew, thanks for stopping me ^^;" he says,"Oh, sorry for running into you like that. By the way, my name is Nightmare." You take a better look at him. He has a charcoal pelt, and his appendages were adorned with blue flames. He was about the size of a lupe, which was a bit strange, or so you thought. "What's your name?" he inquires. "I'm guest." you reply quickly. "Well, it's been a pleasure meeting you. See ya!" He begins to walk away. "Wait a minute! Come back!" you shout. Nightmare comes back over towards you. "What do you want?" he asks. "Well, I was hoping you'd tell me about yourself. Besides, it's the least you could do after nearly killing me. x_x" you say, grinning at him rather strangely. He pauses for a moment. "Well, alright then, if you really want to know." You listen intently as he begins to tell you about himself.

Story

Well, let me start out by saying my father was a strong fire lupe, an alpha of a lupe pack at that, who was always getting into trouble and my mother was a blue gelert who was a bit small for her age and was rather delicate. They were quite surprised when I was born a blue flamed gelupe. I had my mother's color in my father's flames, my mother's kindness, and my father's mischieviousness ^.^ (Not to mention good looks xD) I was just over four weeks old when my parents died. I didn't understand what had happened so I just left. I had been wandering the streets for hours on end. I was cold, tired, hungry, and confused but I walked on anyway. A few days later I was near death and starving, not to mention freezing and wet as it was raining. A grumpy looking techo came out of a large building and when he saw me he picked me up and took me into the building. He handed me to a kind pink uni. She fed me and kept me warm. I overheard her talking to the techo later. She said,"But we can't put him in the pound! He's only a puppy!" "Fine, Rose. You can keep him with you for one day but then he's going into the pound." The uni looked unsure,"But what if nobody wants to adopt a crossbreed?" The techo sighed and walked away shaking his head. I didn't like the sound of that place, the pound...I was scared and snuck out during the night. I ran far into the forest until I could no longer run. I sat down, tired and worried. A young girl approached me. She had light brown hair with golden highlights and she had hazel eyes. I didn't know she was there until she said hello. She said her name was angel_girl246832 and that I could just call her Insanity. She asked if something was wrong. She seemed nice so I told her everything that happened. She asked if I would like to live with her since my family died. I wasn't sure what to do then I finally decided to say yes. (Insanity: *yawn* that was lame.) Then the world blew up!(Hehe...just kidding ^^) I had soon gotten used to living with Insanity and her other pets, Denae, her insane flotsam, ran away shouting something about ruling the world oO. Besides Denae, I used to have two other different siblings a long time ago. I had an older brother and sister who's names were Flame and Ember. When I was still little, they took me to meet the other lupes in their new pack. I met another gelupe there and I was overjoyed to see that she had a fluffy tail, just like me! She said that her name was Berry, and that she was with her Uncle Draco. We saw a big ol' lupe who didn't seem to be very nice...or social at that. We got to climb on him and jump around on his head, but he didn't seem to like that very much so we left him alone and went off to play somewhere else. As we grew older, I had really grown to like Berry; but then the pack started falling apart. Ember and Flame left to journey to lands far far away. They were really nice...I miss them ;-; After they left, there was nobody to take me to visit the slowly dissappearing lupe back where Berry was. I thought I would never get to see her again. I tried to look on the bright side, but that's a little hard to do if the only thing on 'the bright side' is your owner. I missed my siblings, and I especially missed Berry. Then, quite some time later, Insanity went out to buy me a chia plushie (since those are my favorite toys =3) and she came back with my chia plushie AND an unexpected visitor. "Hey Nightmare," she said,"look at who I ran into when I was out!" I stared at the other girl, having no clue as to who she was. Then, I saw a curious green eye peeking at me from behind the girl, and then a head...It was a gelert! It stepped out from behind the girl and grinned widely. That's when I saw that it wasn't a gelert, it was a gelupe! It was Berry! I was extremely excited to see her again. We played for hours and hours as our owners talked about us. Of course, they also talked about their likes, dislikes, pie, lightbulbs, and various types of cheese. o_o After they left, I didn't see Berry again for quite a long time. ((*poke* Oh, sorry, I was just making sure you were still awake^^")) I was Insanity's only pet for a little bit, but very soon after my siblings left, my owner took in another pet. That's when Myst moved in. Soon after that we found Kari, whom turned out to be Myst's long lost sibling. And then there was Drymus....my vain new sibling had been wandering through the woods and had decided to live with us after Insanity bribed him with a large assortment of grooming products and his very own room in our neohome. I personally think that Insanity should have gotten a different ixi, but she seemed to really like Drymus, ALMOST as much as she likes me =P Anyhow, It was almost Valentine's Day, and I began to think about Berry again, and as luck would have it, I met her again the day before Valentine's Day. I nervously asked her to be my valentine, and she seemed to be very happy when I asked and accepted. We've been together ever since, and we've become each other's family. One day as I was walking along, minding my own business, I ran into a dark faerie. She said she would give me a great gift if I brought her a cool negg. Well, I told Insanity what had happened and...well, she didn't want anything bad to happen if we didn't bring her something. We couldn't afford a cool negg so I took most of Insanity's neopoints and brought a faerie queen negg, hoping it would do. I took it to the dark faerie, who was furious when I approached her the wrong negg. She suddenly stopped yelling at me and smirked. She said,"Here's your gift," and she began mumbling strange words as though it was a curse. I began to feel very strange so I ran away, quite terrified. As soon as I walked in the door I found Insanity awaiting my return. When she saw me she said,"Hi Nightmare! Oh, wait.." she laughed a little,"I'm sorry, I thought you were my gelupe. You almost look exactly like him." I thought she was insane! I cried to her,"I am your gelupe!!! It's me Nightmare!" I began to worry. I was partially worried about myself, wondering if I had mutated strangely. Then again, I was also partially worried for my owner's mental health. Insanity looked at me strangely,"No, Nightmare is a gelupe, not a gelert." I froze, "the faerie must have changed me!" I ran to a mirror and looked at myself. It was true! I was a gelert! I also had no clue if that was good or bad oO. I told Insanity what had happened with the faerie and she was very quiet. Suddenly she burst into tears. "What? You still love me, don't you? I haven't changed that much!" "Of course I still love you, silly..." she said as she calmed down,".....all of my neopoints...gone!" She burst into tears again. I think she missed her neopoints more than she really cared about my altered appearence, which is alright because she had been saving for months. I spent the rest of the afternoon staring at my tail. The next day, I told Berry about the incident, and she was quite surprised. I only hoped she wouldn't stop liking me because of how I had changed. I didn't need to worry about that though, as I soon found that she wanted so much to be a gelert because I had become one that she had brought a negg to the cold hearted Snow Faerie as I had done for the dark faerie in hopes that she would become a gelert. Instead she was changed into a wolert! (Wolf/gelert) Now Berry is Neopia's first Wolert ever! Together, we had learned that it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, because it's the inside that counts ;)

Insanity-Hyper, energetic, eccentric, makes the best blueberry pie, and obviously insane...what can I say? xD Insanity rawks! :D

Kari-Kari is somewhat like Ember was. (you'd know who Ember was if you read my story, if you can handle how boring it is) She's very kind, but she's sort of quiet and self contained, like Myst, only in a different way. She's very sweet.

Myst-Myst is very bitter and cold. She likes to be alone, isolated from the rest of us. It's something about her being immortal or something...I don't get it, but maybe if you visit her page you might.

Drymus-e.e An annoyance at large, he thinks he is perfect and he makes sure to look like it too. He spends an average of about 4 hours each day in front of a mirror, making sure he looks his best. He's obsessed with himself -.-

Berry-My love! I never knew what it was like to have a real family with siblings you were actually related to, and I probably never will, but Berry has become my new family, and I am slowly being accepted into her family. She is prettyful and smart and nice and fun and I love her! -snugs Berry- :D

Tulip-My mother-in-law. I haven't gotten to know her very well yet...

Bolt-My brother-in-law. I don't think I've ever even spoken to him o_O How very sad.

Fang-My sister-in-law. I've never actually met her, I've only heard of her...

Cloud-e.e Mah uncle-in-law. I beleive he wishes to hit me with a bat. Hard. o_o -gulp-

Sugar-My little neice ^^ She's quite a sweetheart. It seems she's found herself a boyfriend xD


Love

If you read my long and somewhat boring story, you will know who Berry is =) I met Berry a long time ago, when we were both young pups. We grew up together...well, kind of. We both came to like each other a lot and she became my loving mate on Valentine's Day, the day I told her my feelings and asked her to be my permanent valentine. (guest: Awwww! How romantic!) (Nightmare: Yes, I know...-_-) Since then we've been inseperable! And what's really awesome and unique about her is that she's Neopia's very first Wolert! :) Oh how I love her so! =^-^= -snugs Berry-
