Memories Pt. 1
The soft amber sun was slowly fading into the far distant horizon, leaving behind an array of purples, oranges and pinks. The light was gradually slipping off the city of Cardiff, as the street lamps lept to life. The wind billowed through his coat as he stood tall on top of a high cliff overlooking the city. Gwen didn't know whether he felt that he had a duty to look after everyone, or whether he just liked to collect his feelings as the wind rustled through his hair. He was simply a mystery to her. Sometimes he would seem like one of the gang, playfully pinching Ianto's bum, or constantly arguing with Owen over who had the better chat up lines. Then other times, he would lock himself in his office, and not talk to anyone. Sometimes Gwen felt like that they were from two different times, and Jack's had passed him by but not an age of it showing on his face.
Do you remember what I told you", said Jack's smooth voice with his irresistibly charming American accent. Gwen lapped it up like milk. "when I first offered you the job? I told you not to let it consume you.".
Jack turned to face Gwen, and she couldn't help but sneak a flirtatious smile at him. There was no doubting Captain Jack Harkness was quite a heart breaker. He had a nice, strong jaw line, with piercing blue eyes that seemed to look into your very soul, and his smile was so adorable, it ought to be illegal.
You have a life outside of Torchwood. Don't let it go to waste."
Gwen's smile, as quickly as it came, vanished form her porcelain face. She hated it when Jack lectured her. She felt like a naughty school child, having the whole "you've let yourself down" speech being thrown at her.
Well it seems you have!", she retorted right back at him, her voice containing the slightest bit of spite, "Tell me Jack, when was the last time you actually left work on time. Or at all for that matter. Come to think of it, when was the last time you even left Cardiff?
A cold look spread across Jack's usually soft face.
A long time ago.", he said bluntly, "But we're not discussing my past. We're discussing your present.".
Gwen brushed her dark, sleek hair out of her eyes, and looked over at the horizon, which was a rich, purple glaze now.
I've still got Rhys", she sighed. Just about, she added in her head. They'd had a big argument the night before. Rhys had shouted at her because she was always coming home late, and never seemed to talk to him anymore. Gwen had shouted back some pretty hurtful things, mainly having a go because he was supposed to be glad that she had got a promotion, and why wasn't he more supportive. The whole sorry mess ended up with him sleeping on the sofa, and Gwen leaving that morning before he could wake up and apologise. She couldn't bear Rhys thinking he was in the wrong again. But she couldn't tell him about Torchwood. Not ever. Jack walked closer to her.
If you got Rhys", he started, "Instead of being at home with him, why are you up here, in the freezing cold standing with me?".
Gwen took a deep breath and held back the tears.
He's...working late.", Gwen lied, lamely. She hated herself for what the true answer was, and Jack was the last person she wanted to tell. Well, second to last. Owen was still in her life of course.
Jack smiled at her. He knew she was obviously lying, but didn't want to kick up a fuss, seeing as he was very close to the edge of a cliff is Gwen hit him. Which he wouldn't put past her at this moment in time. She was absolutely shattered. She had dark rings around her eyes, which were achingly red raw from her rubbing them every ten minutes in an attempt to keep her awake.
Yet she still looked beautiful, Jack thought to himself.
The Cardiff night sky was now a distinct deep blue haze, with many stars starting to peep out and show themselves.
Oh my goodness!", exclaimed Gwen, squinting at her watch, "It's nine thirty! We've been up here for nearly two hours!".
Jack sighed, and turned his back on Gwen, now looking out over the city once again.
Sometimes", he said with the faintest hint of sadness, "I just get lost in my memories.".
He gazed at the giant water tower, just outside of the bronze arch of the Cardiff Millennium Centre. So many of his happiest memories took place here.
Such happy times, he thought, gone now.
He immediately shook off these depressive feelings, and forced a smile onto his face.
C'mon", yawned Gwen, stretching her arms, "we'd better...", stopping mid-sentence.
What's the matter?", Jack asked, fiddling with his wrist watch. 8:30pm it read. Jack chuckled to himself.
You", Jack said, turning to her, "need some...". He too fell silent, as he saw Gwen's face transfixed into a look of horror. He followed her gaze, and his body stiffened as he saw what she was gaping at.
A huge white chain, right across the sky, almost like a rip in a seam. It was getting wider, as more, glorious white light poured out of it. Jack tried to find the words, but couldn't. He and Gwen could only watch as Cardiff Bay vanished before their eyes, but amongst the screams of terror he had finally found in his throat, he could have sworn he heard the sound of ancient engines, rumbling into the night.

Memories Pt. 2
The world seemed to materialise around Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper, as the white light faded, and the unbearable dizziness hit them like a bolt of lightning. Gwen felt like she was going to be sick. She couldn't tell where she was. All she could see was Jack. She felt the colour drain from her face, and she fell into his arms. Whether that was entirely the sickening feeling she had, or a strong sense of desire, she couldn't really tell.
Whoa there!", Jack exclaimed, as he scooped her up by her shoulders, and wrapped her up in himself, "You ok?".
Gwen still couldn't find the words, but what she spluttered seemed to resemble a barely audible, "Eurghhh…"
Jack grinned.
I'll take that as a no then".
He didn't feel too amazing himself, but he was used to putting on a brave face, hiding his emotions. "You'll be ok kid", he told her, steadying her dainty body so she could stand on her own two feet without falling flat on her face. "We've got bigger things to worry about. Like why the hell are we in a bookstore".
Gwen snapped her head up. That was gonna hurt tomorrow. But sure enough, they were in a bookshop. Waterstones to be precise. Slap bang in the middle of the Sci-Fi section. Gwen chuckled. If only they knew the half of it. Jack was busy fiddling with his wrist device.
I can't get a clear reading on this. It just comes up with static", he complained hitting it to try to get it to work, "Why didn't I get Tosh to take a look at the other day?".
Speaking of giving looks", Gwen said, indicating towards the fast approaching floor worker, of whom Gwen had only just realised had been staring at them for quite a while. He was about the same height as Gwen, but with a skinnier build. He wore thick rimmed glasses, and had dark chestnut hair, of which he had styled into a side parting, with a fringe that covered part of his face.
Wow! It's really you!", he gushed at Gwen and Jack, who both exchanged puzzled looks. "I mean, in here of all places! I knew you did it in Cardiff, but I never thought in my right mind I would bump into you for real! Wait till my little sister hears of this, she will be SO jealous! She just loves you!"
Gwen was about to ask what on earth he was on about, when a book cover caught her eye.
Jack...", she said hoarsely.
Now...Tom", Jack began, reading the boy's employee badge, "Can I ask you something?".
Of course you can!", replied Tom, with a hint of self importance.
Jack…"
Not now Gwen", Jack hissed, "So, Tom, what exactly did you mean by "do it" in Cardiff?"
Sorry, I meant you filmed it in Cardiff. You do don't you?"
Film what?", Jack asked.
JACK!"
What Gwen?", shouted Jack, "What could be so important that -"
As he turned to face her, and his eyes widened so much they looked like they were going to burst at the sight of "what was so important". Jack found himself looking at - himself. And Gwen. And Owen, and Tosh and Ianto. They were all grouped together in what Jack guessed was a 'team' pose, on the front cover of a book that bared the title, 'TORCHWOOD: The Official Annual'.
What the…?"
Yeah, that's it", Tom said, standing behind Jack, "Torchwood. The spin off show. Amazing spin off show if I may say so myself."
Gwen was still in shock. Someone had made a book about her job. Had they been spied on? The sickening feeling crept back into her stomach, as the horrible truth dawned, not on her, but on Jack.
...The white light", he said, almost scared of his on knowledge.
You mean the one we saw before we came here?", Gwen asked. Jack nodded his head.
What about it?", she enquired, almost fearing the answer.
It must have been… a crack in the Rift", Jack answered, hating himself for being right, "a wound in time…and space", he added.
The truth began to rear it's ugly head to Gwen.
Does this mean…we're not on Earth?"
Jack swallowed hard.
Not... our Earth."
Gwen forced a fake laugh.
What, are we stuck on some kind of parallel universe or something?". She stopped laughing as soon as she saw how serious Jack's face was.
Oh my...", she exclaimed, holding her hand over her mouth in shock, "We are, aren't we?". She held his gaze, and or the first time since Gwen met him, Jack looked utterly lost.
Is this some kind of new plot for the next series?", Tom asked. Jack spun around. Tom was still standing there. "Cos it sounds quite good.".
Tom", Jack said, with a sense of urgency in his voice, "you said this show, Torchwood was a spin-off show. A spin-off from what exactly?".
Tom looked puzzled.
Are you feeling ok Mr. Barrowman?", he asked.
His name's Jack", Gwen piped in.
Tom, just tell me!", Jack cried.
Alright! Alright!", Tom exclaimed, as an old lady walking by stopped in shock, "No need to shout sir. Just pick up the book next to the annual.".
Jack barged over to where Gwen was standing, nearly knocking her over in the process. He was about to apologise when he saw it. Right in front of his big, blue eyes. He saw the face of the man who he had been hoping, no, wishing he could meet once again. The man who held all of the answers. Who had abandoned him those years ago.
The Doctor!
Jack felt the anger flush through him as he realised, it wasn't his Doctor. Not the one of whom he had begun to grow attached to. Not the one who showed him life.
He's not a bad looking bloke that David Tennant.", observed Tom.
Jack couldn't move. Every muscle in his body ached with disappointment. He had finally found him, only to lose him in the next three seconds. Again. But he had to see him. Just once. Even if it was just an actor.
Where can I find him?", Jack asked, thrusting the book in front of Tom's face.
I think they're filming down by the Millennium Centre, but shouldn't you know that?".
C'mon Gwen", said Jack, ignoring Tom's last remark, "We're leaving".
Wait!", Tom shouted after them, "Shouldn't you be out looking for her?".
Gwen stopped abruptly, and turned to face him.
The Japanese lady who works with you", Tom finished.
Tosh?", Gwen asked, fear creeping up her spine.
Yeah, that's her,", he said, "Well, that's her character on the show. I can't remember her real name, Nako or something like that.".
What's happened to her?", Jack asked.
Tom stared at them.
Where the hell have you been for the past two weeks? She's disappeared."

Memories Pt. 3
What are we gonna do?"
The question was so obvious, but one Jack Harkness could not answer. He had never known anything like this in his life. Himself, and Gwen were sitting outside a restaurant in something that resemble their own Cardiff Bay back home, trying to gather their thoughts, and come up with some sort of logical explanation. The last hour had really drained their emotions. Here they were, stuck on a parallel universe, on a parallel Earth, where their very existence had only been created as a source of entertainment. And to top all of that off, the parallel Torchwood team was starting to disintegrate. They had found out that this Earth's Tosh, or Naoko Mori as she was called, had disappeared two weeks ago from a bookstore worker, Tom, of whom both Gwen and Jack had given their numbers to, just in case he had anymore information for them. They then saw, on the front cover of a newspaper, that Burn Gorman, the man who played their Owen in the show, had gone missing over a month ago.
Even though these people were not Jack's real team, he still felt an overwhelming urge to protect them. Some of Gwen's alluring compassion was beginning to rub off on him.
But the whole disappearance business was not the first thing on Jack's mind. And Gwen could tell what was. Just round the corner, a short distance away, was a man. But not just any man. A man who played the part of someone very close to Jack's heart, but who he had lost a long time ago. That was true it more ways than one. Gwen didn't wish to pry about this mystery man, but it didn't stop her wondering. Back in the bookstore, he had called him the Doctor. Was this Jack's 'right kind of doctor'? Did he exist back on her world? She felt a pang of loneliness as she thought of Rhys back home. She checked her watch. 9pm. He would probably be eating his usual dinner in front of the TV by now. Microwave able macaroni cheese with a big glass of Cherry Coke. Gwen preferred Diet Coke herself, but bought Cherry because it made him happy. She used to do anything to make Rhys happy. Those days were over now. She recalled all the countless times Rhys had been there for her. Whenever she needed a shoulder to cry on, he was there. Whenever she wanted to rant to someone about how the stupid wannabe boy racers had cut her off at the lights again, he was always there to listen. Whenever she came home late form work, which was beginning to become much more of a habit these days, he was always there on the sofa, waiting for her. Gwen felt hey eyes welling up with tears as she thought of all the times she had taken Rhys for granted. He never pressured her into telling him about Torchwood, and just tried to make her life happy. She would never tell Jack this, but she agreed with him. She couldn't let her life, and Rhys, get consumed by the job.
Oh no.", Jack suddenly said. Gwen quickly snapped her head up and followed his stare. There were two girls a couple of tables away, pointing at them and whispering. One of them got up and started to make her way over to them. Jack cursed.
Walk away", he began to say slowly getting up from his chair, trying to not make eye contact with the girl, "and don't look back.".
Gwen followed Jack, walking briskly away from the restaurant when-
Wait! You two!".
Run!", Jack shouted. Him and Gwen bolted down a nearby alleyway in an attempt to lose the fan girl.
They rested against a fence after about five minutes of solid running to rest their stitches.
Wha..what were… we thinking?", Gwen panted. "Of course we… we were gonna be mistaken for… them".
We need to go somewhere where we know someone", he said, getting his phone out of his pocket.
Who are we gonna know in a parallel universe?", Gwen asked. Jack just smiled at her.
Wait and see."
-------------------------------------------------------
Sorry to suddenly impose this on you Tom", Jack said, stepping into Tom's flat. It was certainly modern. Wood floors in every room apart from the large kitchen and bathroom which had marble flooring. The kitchen was like something you would get in the Big Brother house. Same went for the living area.
It's a pleasure!", Tom gushed, taking their coats, "Having two TV stars in one's home isn't something that happens everyday!".
Gwen looked at Jack guiltily. They still hadn't told him they weren't the actors he thought they were. It would just be too confusing for him. And they didn't have any Retcon on them, so they would have to improvise.
Can I got you anything?", Tom offered.
A cup of tea would be swell.", replied Jack, "No milk or sugar. Gwen?". Gwen hated black tea, but nodded anyway.
Nice place you've got here Tom", commented Jack, eyeing up the wide screen TV. HD and everything. Fancy, he thought. Tom smiled.
Yeah, I love it here", he said fondly, "It was my older sisters, but she moved to Uni, so me and Alice live here. My younger sister. Hey! You should go talk to her! She'd love that! Her room is opposite the bathroom. I'll just put the kettle on."
Gwen slapped Jack's hand away from the door handle when they arrived at Alice's room.
What the hell are we gonna say?", she hissed, "Hi, we're to characters from your favourite TV show that happened to fall though a Rift that you think is make believe?".
Sounds like a plan to me.", Jack grinned, as he opened the door. A loud blast of music hit him in the face like a wet fish. It was some sort of anarchic punk. Jack wasn't exactly 'hip' when it came to teenage trends. Alice was sitting at a desk, with her back to both of them, in front of a computer, madly tapping away at the keyboard. She had long, slender black hair that was messily tied into two pigtails that hung from the back of her head.
Tom, what have I told you about knocking?".
She spun round on her chair, and froze when she saw them.
Umm.. Hi", said Gwen lamely, "I'm-", but she was cut off.
I know who you are", said Alice, surveying them both from her thick rimmed glasses.
Gwen smiled patronizingly.
I don't think you do.".
Alice laughed and flicked the bits of fly away hair our of her face. She was a fairly pretty girl, with big, blue eyes which she accentuated with thick, black liquid eyeliner. Her full lips were drawn around lights in a pale pink lip liner. She wore a white, partially see-through top with little colourful robots all over it, with baggy jeans and rainbow socks.
You,", she said, pointing at Gwen, "are Gwen Cooper. And you, are Captain Jack Harkness. Am I right?"
It was Gwen and Jack's turn to be shocked now.
How…", stuttered Gwen, "How…"
How do I know it's actually you?", Alice finished off for her, "Simple. I'm watching the real John Barrowman and Eve Myles on a live video pod cast at the moment."
Jack walked over to the computer.
Lets see then", he said.
Are you sure?", Alice asked, concerned, "won't it like, be really weird and mess you up?".
Jack smiled at her. He liked her spirit.
I just wanna see", he said, softly.
Reluctantly, she spun around again to face the computer, and pulled the window up. Jack leaned in close, and she felt his warm breath on her neck. When they came on screen, she felt his whole body stiffen in shock. I told him so, she thought. She closed the window once the appeal for help in the search for Naoko and Burn and finished, and turned to face them once again.
But... why do you believe that we are actually.. us?", Gwen asked her, still white faced with shock.
I'm a dreamer.", Alice replied, "And plus, it only seems logical. Why can't there be parallel universes? I love to question things. It's entertaining."
They all suddenly jumped as they heard mugs being smashed, and a hoard of swear words pour out from the kitchen. Alice smiled, almost embarrassed.
Gwen, I hate to ask this of you, but could you go help my inept brother please? He is physically incapable of making tea!".
Of course.", Gwen sad, returning the smile before she left Jack and Alice alone. Together. Jack didn't want to ask what was on his mind, but he just had to.
So, you watch Torchwood?", he asked. She nodded. "So, do you…. ermm.. know…"
Know about him?", she said. Jack nodded.
I also know-", but she cut herself off, got up, and made her way to her DVD rack.
I'm a huge Doctor Who and Torchwood fan Jack," she said, ignoring him wincing at the name of the Doctor, "So I think that all of the adventures I have seen you and him carry out actually happened. So that means", she carried on, picking out a DVD from the shelf and putting it into the machine, "that this is also real.". She chose the start of a scene, and hit the play button. What Jack saw shocked him to the very core. He saw his past. The TARDIS was on board a spaceship. Gamestation to be precise. It was slowly fading away, when Jack saw himself, frantically running after it. Jack witnessed the exact moment the Doctor left his life on a 12 inch Television screen. Alice pressed the stop button and the image vanished.
He couldn't find the words.
I know,", Alice said softly, "I know everything that happened up till that point, and everything that happened after. I know how you met him, I know why and when. I know how you feel about him, and the rest of the team. I also know you are still looking for him, and that…. you can stop."
Jack's eyes widened as he heard this, and he got to his feet. He turned to face her, and looked her straight in her eyes, which were watering.
What… what did you say?", he asked her shakily.
Alice could hardly contain her excitement.
He's here Jack! The Doctors here!"

Memories Pt. 4
Jack thought he was going to faint. He was completely numb all over, he couldn't even think straight. It was like he had been smacked in the face. Alice just stood there in front of him, her bold, blue eyes staring into his. It seemed to last forever. He felt the tiniest spark between them as he contemplated what she had just said. She was grinning like a Cheshire cat, and the light that fell from the Sun was positioned behind her so much so, that she looked like an angel. His angel.
How… how", he stammered, "how is this even possible?".
I'm not quite sure", she replied, "But it really is possible, because it really did happen! He's here!".
A huge, white toothed smile spilt over Jack Harkness' face, and he pulled Alice into a warm embrace, as his eyes streamed with tears.
Thank you!", he whispered softly in her ear. Alice wrapped her arms around his neck and melted into the hug. She felt her body brush against his, and she never wanted it to end.
Ahem."
They both abruptly broke off the hug to find Gwen standing in the doorway carrying a tray with the tea on it.
Was I interrupting something?", she grinned jokingly, but with the slightest tinge of jealously.
No,", Jack said, wiping the tears off of his face, "Alice was….", he looked at her un-easily.
I was… just about to tell Jack about the whole disappearance business.", she said, finishing off his sentence."
Well it's a good thing I got here just in time then.".
They all took a cup of tea, and pulled up a chair, Gwen and Jack facing Alice, who was sitting cross-legged on her bed, looking like a rebellious teenager.
Now,", said Jack, "Tell us everything".
-----

And that's about it really", Alice finished, "They've been missing ever since. Burn has nearly been given up on, but they are still looking for Naoko."
So when did this earthquake happen?", Jack asked, worryingly.
Must have been about..", thought Alice, "Month or two ago. Just before Burn disappeared.".
Whatever took us here must have caused that earthquake", Jack said. Gwen looked confused.
But we only came through today", she said.
Jack was about to explain it to her, but Alice got there first.
You crossed over universes", she said, "But you followed a source point that actually broke the barrier, so you could have gotten here anytime after it landed."
Jack looked at her strangely, but she smiled at him.
I've seen enough Doctor Who and Torchwood to know what I'm talking about!", she said reassuringly. Gwen pulled her stare away from Alice's many punk posters that smothered her wall and looked at her.
Doctor…Who?", she said, slowly, "Do you watch it?".
Only religiously!", Alice laughed back at her, "I even belong to a Doctor Who guild on a internet game. We are all Doctor Who obsessed!". "So, you know about the Doctor?", Gwen asked. Jack looked at her, as if to say, "Please don't".
We've gotta tell her Jack", Alice said.
Tell me what?".
Alice looked at Jack, and he looked at her. He nodded briefly.
The Doctor", Alice began, "That Jack knows… is… well.. ", she struggled to find the exact words. "On this universe, his adventures have been made into a TV show, like Torchwood, but the REAL Doctor is actually here, he came form your world.".
Gwen looked white with shock.
How'd he do that?".
The other night,", Alice started, "I was woken by a strange noise out front, in the street. I thought it was my alarm clock at first, but then I saw these flashing blue lights. And that sound. That... amazing sound. The sound of th whole universe, moving together in perfect harmony. The only sound that mattered. It's the sound of the Doctor's space-ship, the TARDIS, it doesn't matter what it means,", she said, obviosuly seeing Gwen's puzzled face, "all that matteres is that I heard it. I ran out into the street, and it was right in front of me. Just standing there. Like something out of a dream. I reahced out, and touched it, to make sure it was really there. As soon as my hand met it's wooden exterior, I felt...power, and age, and wisdom, flow through my body. I pulled away. Scared of what would happen if I let it take over me. I ran, and hid behind a car, and waited. I don't know how long for. I just crouched there, in the freezing cold, with bare feet which where becoming numb-er by the second. I got lost in time just looking at it. Anyway, trust me to fall asleep. And when I woke up..it was gone.", she finished, wiping the tears off her face. Gwen leant over and put her arm around her.
But how do you know he's still here?", Jack pressed on.
Gwen shot him a cold look.
Cut it out Jack, she's just a kid, not an alien captive you can pump for information!"
Alice pulled out of the hug.
I'm 19!", she retorted, "And I know because of this-"
She yanked a piece of string over her head to show them both something that was hanging off of it. It was a key. A bog-standard, nothing special about it key.
I found it next to me when I woke up", she continued, "Sometimes it glows. Bright yellow. And sometimes it feels warm."
Jack pulled out an array of keys out of his pocket, and sifted through them vigorously, until he found one that matched Alice's perfectly. Alice and Jack exchanged excited glances.
But", Gwen butted in, "How are we going to track down this Doctor person, assuming he can help us."
Right now,", Alice said, challenging Gwen's stare, "He's the only hope in the entire universe you have left for getting back home."
-------------------------
The next morning was unforgivable freezing.
The cold wind whipped past their faces, as Jack, Gwen and Alice made their way to the point in the Cardiff countryside where the Earthquake had first started. It seemed like the most logical place to start their search.
Reports say", Gwen said, reading off of a peice of paper that she had managed to blag her way into getting at the Cardiff Police centre, "that it only lasted about 7 second at a maximum, but obvisouly it must have been powerful, becuase it spilt the ground open.
Jack was crouched near to a deep crack in the surface, investigating the size and shape of it.
I don't think the Earth caused this", he was saying, "I think something hit the ground. That would explain the crater at the centure of the cracks.".
Alice was perched on a nearby rock, deep in thought.
Not something", she said quietly.
What was that?", Jack asked, looking up at her.
Not something,", she repeated, louder this time, "But...someone."
Gwen turned to face her, and Jack stood up.
Well, think about it, this thing came here, and BAM!", she said hitting the rock with her palm, "Burn disappeared. Then Naoko got involved with the search and BAM! She goes as well. Then you two turn up. This cannot just be a coincidence, nothing ever is. Maybe, someone wants the Torchwood Team. And they're taking them one by one.".
But if this...thing wants the Team, why did they take two of the Fake team, and us two?", Gwen asked, "Why did it corss all the way into a parallel world?".
It was Jack's turn to answer this.
It was on the run", he said, slowly understanding, "It was running away."
From what?", Gwen asked, but Alice already knew the answer before Jack had said it.
Before we came here, I heard something", he began, "I think...I heard the TARDIS. Chasing after whatever pulled us through the Rift. That's why it opened it. It must have seen the two of us just before it ran, so it dragged us into it as well."
It must be something with phenomenal power", Alice added.
But why?", Jack agonisingly asked himself, "Why does it want the team, my team? What shall we-"
OWWW!", shrieked Alice, cutting Jack's speech off, and leaping up.
What?", Gwen asked, worringly, "What's wrong?"
Alice was fumbling inside her shirt.
It's the.."
She pulled the string off round her neck and threw it to the floor.
The key was glowing bright yellow, and, judging by Alice's reaction, it was hot.
..key".
This Doctor person must be nearby then!", Gwen said, gushing with excitement.
Jack pulled his own keychain out, and sure enough his was glowing as well.
Alice picked her's up. It was still hot, but she didn't care. She held it out in front of her, hoping to be pulled in the right direction.
This way!", she shouted, running away from the crash site, and out of the heavily wooded area. Jack and Gwen followed eagerly. The key took her to an open space, a cliff that overlooked the city, and there it was.
Standing there. Not doing anything special, just standing there, in all it's glory. The TARDIS.
It's a blue box", Gwen said, obviosuly disappointed.
Believe me!", Alice gushed, "It's better on the inside!"
She turned to face Jack who was laughing. They both ran to the doors, and took it all in. Alice gingerly took her key and slotted it into the lock.
-------------------
She wasn't sure where she was was, but wherever it was, it was cold and damp. She could hear the trickling sound of running water, but didn't know where it was coming from. She tried to stand up, but felt a hot pain shoot through her left leg. It was bleeding heavily. Her hands were tied, and she frantically felt around in the dark for something to cut the ropes, which where cutting into her wrists like knives.
A light switched on somewhere, and she saw a silhouette smacked against a wall. She shuffled forward for a closer inspection, and the hairs on her arms stood up as she realised who it was. His body was positioned on the wall to look like a cross. He had flesh wounds on his hand, which were tied to hooks on the wall. His legs hung freely, his eyes were shut, and his skin had a blue tinge to it.
A sharp in-take of breath from behind her made her whole body stiffen. She turned around slowly to come face-to-face with the stuff of nightmares.
Naoko Mori let out a spine shivering scream, which seeemed to echo through the Cardiff night, rattling across the sky, and then...silence.
To be continued!
