GUERRE

I know I've got a problem

GUERRE is… amazing yet hard to explain… It's sort of an online thing but it's not at the same time. I mean, the world exists online or something… but as far as what you can do comes from the real world. If you're slow, you're slow in that world. If you're strong, you're strong in that world. Everything from reality that defines you as you is translated into that game… If your five foot three weighing at one-hundred and something odd pounds, with a scar on your knee from child hood, then when you enter in the game, you are the same as you ever were in real-life. Scar and all. It's like literally walking into a new world: you bleed, you feel pain, you feel pleasure... you can feel. But it's like a dream at the same time: you're not constraint to the every day.

Outside the game, I'm just a student cruising along in college on a few Bs and Cs who works part time at a flower shop. Inside the game I'm a wanderer or mercenary taking names and kicking back with Hal and the others taking out whatever PK'er is out there.

I know. This sounds really nerdy but it's the only one ever to make the 'players' do work outside the game itself.

Let's use Hall as an example. If Hall gets his patoosh handed to him in a fight, his best bet for getting even with the guy would be to log out. I know it sounds crazy but listen: remember how I said that in GUERRE everything about you is copied? Good, now listen up, if you were to train outside in the real world (lifting weights, running, whatever) all that information about whatever new stamina or strength gets translated back into the game next log-in.

So if Hal left the game and at that point in time he could bench press one hundred and something odd pounds, trained a little in the real world and logged back in later, that new strength and stamina would be translated and updated into the game.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know what you're thinking now. Instead of doing all that work, why not use a hack or something to get that perk? Simple, because messing with your in-game 'stats' messes you up BAD in real life. There was this one case on the news where some guy tried something like that and the game nearly killed him when he logged out. Others haven't been so lucky.

So the only way to get better at anything in that game really is to get off your patoosh and go work out. Don't try anything. Seriously.

When I first started off in GUERRE I used duel knives (that looked suspiously like hunting knives...) dubbed Eirika and Ephriam. Hey, they were TWIN knives.. what ELSE was I suppose to call them? That's what I thought. You keep your mouth shut.

Apparently when first logging in ever to Guerre, you have a one in some large number to become royalty... ANYWAY although I've never met him in real life, Hal is probably one my bestest friends ever. I met the the guy in Guerre's barens after he saved my tush from a wandering group of thieves (hey, they were tough) and treated me to a drink at a neighboring town. He's a cool guy, after downing a few drinks and trading stories (his being the more impressive) I found out he was the leader of a group of knights despite the fact he fights he fights like a berserker and not the sub-general he is.

He dropped me his IP, paid for our drinks and took off… I guess with his crew or something. A few months later word spread that there a counter attack from a sub-general went horribly wrong and he was currently surrounded somewhere in the mountainous-forest region. After Contacting Orcy about this, and him saying he was caught up in something at the moment (still don't believe him to this day about that) we argued for at least fifteen minutes before he dropped me the coordinates of the sub-general (no idea how he got those seeing how he wasn't even NEAR the area at the time) and sent me off to do something about it "since I was so into it".

Crap went down, I nearly died twice (and stabbed god knows how much, it huuurt), he called me (not sure how he got my ip since I never gave it to me) and staged an escape that went…okay minus using me as a human shield and nearly getting myself killed. After such a disgrace to his 'kingdom' he resigned his post until he could become strong enough to prevent any of his troops from dying ever again…and I'm stuck with the guy. He's actually kinnda annoying.

Jynx-Ai | The scariest seventeen year-old I've ever met in my entire life
What can I say about her. She's one of Cure's two annoying daughters and the devilish one at that. When first starting out at that shop, Jynx would make my life AWEFULL. Anything from rigging traps for me to spring or simply just tattling on me she would do. It would of continued for months had Cure not slipped the fact that Jynx collects butterflies, dead ones and they wallpaper her room practically. Creepy and certainly not befitting someone that had served as a bully to me for at least two months, pathetic for me I know.

Anyway, horrible as it sounds that little information was used to keep her off my back for a few weeks (and even used to make her fetch me some things in the beginning). Had it not have been for her grandmother's constant complaining (and I mean constant she'd nearly forget about complaining a few minutes AFTER complaining) about "poor little Ai" being so "sad" and "depressed". I caved.

The butterfly blackmail was replaced by white chocolate the next day after a long "hey I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, but you were a brat and deserved it" and heart to heart (sort of) convos, we came to a new truce: I'd buy her white chocolate in exchange for her backing off for that shift. (which can tank if I have two different shifts in one day, my poor wallet is sufferiiiing).

With our past behind us I invite her to hang out sometimes and we hit up a game of Halo or whatever I have at the moment. She's a screenpeeker.
