RH39 Laserblasters at ready, as well as some standard introductory babble~
Gah, how ever in the world did you manage to make your way in here? The passageway to the Calliope Headquarters is rigged with some of the most dangerous and potentially deadly booby traps known to mankind (and dolphins). You must've been quite the overflow of talent to make your way past masterfully disguised ditches, spontaneously combustive boulders, recordings of Disney channel stars doing that thing with their voices (singing?), and merciless copies of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which disassemble and rearrange the minds of all those but the exclusively corrupt with their impossibly insane (and wonderful) plot (and don't forget that irresistibly depressed robot, Marvin!).

And you've managed to make your way through that ridiculous, poorly-written run-on in relatively settled mental health? Now, I'm exceedingly impressed. Looks like the passageway doesn't need renovating, after all! My apologies about those rather in-your-face lasers, by the way. Standard guild procedure for suspicious characters. You wouldn't believe some of the creeps we get around here; some of them even try to tell us something about how beheading people is immoral, or illegal, or something or other. Psh!

But, please, let me excuse myself from this endless string of pointless rambling and move on to something you might actually care about, even if it's just the slightest inkling of curiosity. If you so please, move yourself forward through the headquarters in a systematic fashion by using the previous and next portals located at the end of each room. If you'd like to skip around and risk missing some valuable information, a convenient menu of destinations can be found at your right.

Enjoy!

ABOUT CALLIOPE AND THE MANY UNIQUE MANNERISMS ASSOCIATED WITH IT~
In Greek mythology, Calliope (Greek: Καλλιόπη, Kalliope, "beautiful-voiced", pronounced in English /kə'laɪəpi/ ka-LIE-oh-pee) was the muse of heroic poetry, daughter of Zeus and Mnemosyne, and is now best known as Homer's muse, the inspiration for the Iliad and the Odyssey. (- Wikepedia)

Serving as a muse for two of the most widely-know epics, not only in the world but also in time, Calliope provided an inspiration that artists would grovel on the floor for. Believed to be an embodied form of art itself, a muse performed the most intricate of dances and sang the most intoxicating of hymns. Their beauty was unrivaled, and could only be captured through the most effective way of communication: art.

While it can't be promised that the guild will break out in song and glorious dance for you (but with the right persuasion, I'm sure it could be arranged... ;D), Calliope does hope to offer the same inspiration for its members that the muses did so many years ago. Through sharing pieces, offering constructive criticism, meandering discussions with no real destination, and the laughs that make all of it worthwhile, creativity is encouraged, and adored. While the guild is primarily centered around the art of literature (be it prose or poetry), artists of all varieties are more than welcome to contribute to the pool of creativity, which is sure to prove itself an interesting mix in time.

So, when you end up in a diverse group of people all striving for artistic gratification, the only real question is...

Who will be your muse?

Calliope: a name that is already more than well-known in the world of time~
While the muse has already gone down in history, the guild is yet to make its mark on the world (or, more realistically, the members of Neopia).

Created officially on August 26th, the day when Geof, Moony, and Dima came together in the hopes of making something wonderful, Calliope was born a blank page and no more than a short to-do list. However, it wasn't to stay that way for much longer. Due to some intense homework procrastination skills and sweaty montages (with 'Eye of the Tiger' playing in the background, of course), Calliope was beginning to take shape. Many CSS codes and a few thousand words later, the guild was ready to be unveiled and showcased for the public to see. On that day, August 29, the history of Calliope, the guild, truly began, and will continue on for as long as its members can hold on.

History is in the making... will you be the one to influence its course?

Read very carefully, or it's off with your pretty little head~ (!)
Just kidding, of course. :* No one will have to face being beheaded just for breaking some rules; only when talk of The Beatles (many hearts to you!) turns ugly do chainsaws get dragged in.

;D

1; To ensure that no one loses more than a few brain cells while conversing on our guild board, a fairly strict literacy policy has been put in place. If you're reading this, then you can probably make a (somewhat) educated guess about the specifics of the policy. But, to avoid confusion, even the most obvious of trivial information must be written in print. Such as: all members are expected to execute proper use of capitalization, spelling (to the best of their abilities), punctuation, and grammar. While there's no need to bring out dictionaries, do try not to mutilate the English language (it loves you; love it, too!).

2; In order to keep the boards as pretty and neat as possible, we ask that everyone tries to keep consecutive and meaningless posts down to a minimum. While the occasional double post is understandable, it's usually best to try and avoid consecutive posting all together. To make this easier, try and reply to several people at once in your posts; this is also a sure way to keep them meaningful and contributing to the conversation. ('Hi!! Iz any1 there?' is a frequently used post in many guilds, but not a meaningful one. Please refrain.)

3; Play nicely, children! Make sure you're being respectful and always thoughtful of other people's feelings. If you have second thoughts about saying something that may be offensive to someone, it'd be safer to simply not. If you feel that drama and conflict are an inevitable part of your experience on Neo, then be considerate and take it to neomail; completely out of the guild altogether.

4; Never, ever trash the Beatles. LOVE THE BEATLES. :*

And, we're done! While there are, obviously, many other behaviors that you should refrain from engaging in, I'd just feel silly stating the obvious twenty times over. ;P

The most important rule really is, use your common sense!
