![]() Welcome to WashingtonIntroductionA deep, rapid pulse pounds like a heartbeat through the stuffy air. It is dark, and there are blinding laser lights flashing around the packed building. A sea of bodies is bouncing to the beat, all flashing with assorted neon lights about them. The rave music is vivid with rhythmical sirens and alive with waves of voices all harmonizing into one in an unexpectedly beautiful melody, still punctuated with the still more vigorous pulsating.Over in a dark corner stands a dj, the very same who is creating the music that fuels the energy of the mass of ravers. But no one sees him, and he sees no one. He watches his hands ripple over vinyl and switches with a blank -disallowed_word-boring as hell) so I could learn to dj properly, and then we were forced into the 'real' world, and I, out of my parents' house. I never had anything against my parents, really, I'm just not very close to them because I'm so different than they are. The way I see it, JD's the only family I need. After college, I was hired, to my surprise, as a full time dj for Nuclear Era, a rave club near our apartment. I can't say I'd ever want any other job; it's simply the best job there is. Julian certainly isn't complaining....he'd dance until his legs fell off if I didn't have the daytime off. ![]() Traits/QuirksI'm pretty much a recluse, and I don't talk much, unlike Julian. I find that words get people in trouble, and I'd rather miss out on that. But alot of people find it difficult to befriend me because I don't open up easily, and I guess that can be a bad thing. But I don't think my lack of friends is just caused by my silence because JD is very loud and outspoken, and he can't make friends to save his life. Not that he cares, of course. I think that, in fact, might be the problem.Skating and music is pretty much the story of my life. I love nothing more than listening to electronic and techno and skating, while simultaneously ordering Julian around. What could be better? Well, now that you know the downside to talking to me, it's time for the sort of upside. I'm not a bad friend once we break the ice. I mean I'm pretty considerate, even though I like to laugh at Julian when he trips on my old skateboards. Don't be fooled by that, though; Jd fully deserves it. I can't count the number of times he's pulled mean-spirited pranks on me. I don't know why we're such good friends, being complete opposites, but I don't think anything could separate us. StatisticsName: Djyn (pronounced GIN)Call Me: DJ, Deej Gender: Male Good Music: Electronic/Techno/Rave Bad Music: Country/Rock/Alternative Current Home: Washington D.C. Family: Detatched Friends: Julian and Kyle Job: DJ at Nuclear Era Language: English Age: 21 by Human Standards Fur: Chalky blue Hair: Light Green Eyes: Very Light Blue Hat: Green or Brown with stars Build: Medium height, fairly thin Roleplay: Anthro Only Disposition: Kind and thoughtful, but very introvertive and antisocial. He doesn't talk much even to friends, and his opinions are kept to himself. As odd as it may sound, Dj doesn't like to be around alot of people, and he doesn't like too much chaos. Somehow, though, it's different when he's at Nuclear Era, as if he's so wrapped up in the music he doesn't really think about the sea of people bouncing around him. He finds it difficult to relate and talk to strangers, but will eventually get to know and like them. Don't feel discouraged if he doesn't open up at first.

The Board![]() This is my skateboard; it's an Acidhouse. Please don't touch it, heh. I have a thing about people handling my board. It's not very flashy really, but it's all I can afford right now because Acidhouse boards are seriously expensive. You can tell I never grind because the underside looks clean, but my wheels probably need replacing. I can skate fairly well, way better then Julian, anyway. I just can't land a triple heel flip properly. -sigh- If you want an Acidhouse, we sell them at Nuclear Era. Just drop by. CustomsThis is the set of lupe customs I've done, located here.FriendsJulian is my only constant friend, and has been since high school. Even though we're as close as we ever will be, I don't talk around him if I can help it because I don't like to talk, but he makes me talk, somehow. He badgers me until I do, and it makes me laugh when it works. I can't imagine why I like the bugger, but I do; he keeps me from slipping into complete solitude and separation from the world, and I need that. No one should be alone, even if one enjoys it.Kyle is a pretty chill guy and he seems to be really into impressing the ladies. It's odd, but I feel like I can talk to him. Sometimes I feel like I'm holding everything inside and it was nice to just blabber on for a little while. He isn't from D.C., but I have a feeling we'll meet again. He seems to really like vacationing here. RoleplayA Note From Clecky: I'm picky about who I roleplay with, not because I have a phobia of people with bad grammar or something, but because Dj is a very antisocial guy and it's difficult for him to get along with most people unless they have his sense of humor or personality. Plus, roleplay is limited anyway because Clecky is taking crazy hard courses in HS and whoa. Study overload. But anyways, that's about it. And I'm sure you already know this, but I don't allow you to physically damage my baby Dj. I love him and have my motherly protection so no abuse please :). Oh yeh, and I never know when's a good time to stop the roleplay, so you'll have to initiate it because I could have it go on forever lol :). Just mail me if you're interested and I'll reply if I am.Here is an example of my roleplay with Dj:
Dawn was breaking across the eastern sky, clouds pink and floating daintily across the horizon. A flock of birds flew over the city, calling out their familiar cries that could be heard every day, but only when dawn has just broken. Then they are driven out, away from the loud bustling of the nation's capital. Though the sky was very beautiful at this time, the streets in downtown DC could not be held to those standards. One particular street was even more so, the road covered in an assortment of overturned trashcans and street signs that had been thrown around. Right on the corner of this street was a rather large, square building, painted with mismatched colors, albeit bright. All around the building, neon paint of every color marked strange, but interesting designs. Across the top, a neon sign read "Nuclear Era: Night Rave Club." It looked rather lonely, standing there, and very out of place in the dull, gray area. But then, the sound of metal scraping rang out, and the front door opened. Two figures stepped out, one very tall, lanky and ginger-haired, the other slightly shorter and had blue fur, topped with a brown beanie, from which tufts of green hair showed. His eyes were covered by a pair of neon green goggles and he kept his head down as the two set out along the side walk. They walked across the abandoned road and around the corner to a much nicer part of DC, where the city seemed to be just waking from its slumber. The two companions entered a tall, pleasant-looking brick building labeled "Madame Haggins' Coffee. The taller of the two yawned mightily and said sleepily in a slightly British accent, "I'm off to bed, then. See yer upstairs." The other nodded to him and took a seat on one of the comfy green sofas and pulled out a book. Dj heard the door open and close, but kept his eyes trained on his book, though at this point he wasn't even reading the words on the page. Finally, curiosity overtook his meekness, and he looked up to behold a young man who'd just walked in, eying him rather disapprovingly. Dj looked back down at his book, glad he still had his goggles on. Eyes betrayed an awful lot of things about a person. Dj's eyes always betrayed his most unfortunate flaw: his estrangement from the world¢ï¿½ï¿½his inability to connect with people. Djyn took another sneaking glance at the youth.....What is he doing? Looking around? Probably wanting coffee or maybe a room upstairs. What is this kid doing up at this hour anyway? He looks too clean and awake to have just come from the rave. Augh, what does it matter? The kid is still standing there. I have to say something. Dj sighed, put his book down and took his goggles off slowly. His eyes were heavy with the lack of sleep, and were a shockingly icy blue. He rubbed them vigorously before saying, "If you're here to rent a room, I'm afraid the place is packed. But if you want coffee I can get you some." He didn't look the boy in the eyes when he spoke. It was difficult enough to speak to him. Links
