The Rules

Almost every guild has rules and we are no exception. These rules must be followed! If any of these rules are broken, you will be punished!! Suspension and banishment from the guild are among those punishments.

General Rules

001: Follow all Neopets rules. 002: Be nice to everyone. We will not tolerate fighting in the guild. 003: Please stay active. If you are leaving the guild for a few days, post on the guild board, neomail a council member, and mark the dates you are leaving and will be returning on the guild calendar. 004: No contests or competitions will have prizes, whether they are NP or items. It is against Neopets rules! All competitions and contests are prize-free! 005: No newbie packs, birthday giveaways, or giveaways of any sort. These too are against Neopets rules. 006: Any member who is inactive for a month will receive a notice. After receiving the notice, the member in question must either become more active, offer an explanation, or (if they choose) leave the guild. If no good excuse is given, they will be deleted.

Board Rules

001: We are a literate guild. Please DO NOT use chat speak. Sometimes we just can't understand you. The only acceptable chat speak are common ones like g2g, lol, brb, omg, ect. 002: DO NOT spam! Our board is active and we cannot wade through pages and pages of spam to find important messages. 003: Please use a legible fonts. If your font face is too small for anyone to read, please change it. If the color of your neoHTML(not your siggy) clashes with the current layout, please change it to something legible.

Contacting Council Members

001: Only neomail a council member if it's important. For example, if we miss something on the guild board that's important, neomail us. 002: DO NOT spam our inboxes! Some of us run sites and receive requests and messages regarding them. Some of us role play or have conversations going on with other friends. 003: Please don't neomail us just to chat. We can chat on the guild board. Unless the conversation is private, please don't neomail us just to chat. 004: If you have several concerns/topics, try to put it all in one or two neomails.

Application

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFORE APPLYING!

So, as we said before, our guild is private. An application is required in order to join. The application must be done on a petpage. The link to the application will be neomailed to Tina. From there, your application will be sent to the other council members and together we will decide whether or not you can join. It might take us a few days to go over the application just because we're all busy with school and work.

Why are we so picky about our members?

We've learned from past experience that if we do not "handpick" our members carefully, we tend to have dead weight or rule breakers in our guild. We do not tolerate inactive members or rule breakers. We want to make sure that our members can follow our rules and stay active.

Do it right!

And I promise your chances of getting in will be much higher. You may have a fancy layout if you wish, but it is not necessary. But having a layout would be nice and it will definitely get you some bonus points. If you do choose to have a layout, you can use a premade. Just make sure you leave credit to the creator of the layout. Please take your time. We can tell if you put a lot of effort into your application or not.

Introduction & Name: Have a nice introduction and remember to include your name. We're a friendly bunch and we'd like to see if you are just as friendly. Username & Lookup: Make sure you add your username and a link to your lookup somewhere in your application. We'll need to see your lookup to see how long you've been on Neopets. Age: Add your age somewhere, preferably in the introduction. We only accept teenagers and adults in our guild. This means you have to be 13 or older to join. We've learned from past experiences that younger members do not follow the rules. Why do you want to join Scarlet Memories? This is pretty self-explanatory. We need to know why you want to join our guild before we can even consider accepting you. What can you contribute to the guild? Do you have any skills that could be used to better the guild. Ex: CSS/HTML skills, graphic skills, font skills, ect. Or do you have spare petpages that can host guild pages? Or do you have lots of ideas for the guild? Things like that. Examples: If you do have any skills to offer, please provide some examples of each. At least two examples for each skill would be nice. Anything Else: Add anything else that you think you need to add.

Guild Ranks

Here you can learn how to earn a promotion. The ranks are in order for highest to lowest.

Scarlet Light

Members of this rank have proven their love of the guild by staying here long enough to obtain it. To obtain this rank, you must do the following:

001: You must participate in guild activities. 002: You must have at least 400 non-spam posts on the guild board. 003: You must earn 500 Sparkle War points. 004: You must have a guild banner on your lookup, shop, gallery, ect. 005: You must contribute to the guild by either submitting graphics, guides, or come up with and run new activities.

Shadow

Members of this rank are expected to know how things work in the guild. To obtain this rank, you must do the following:

001: You must participate in guild activities. 002: You must have at least 250 non-spam posts in the guild board, 003: You must earn 250 Sparkle War points. 004: You must have a guild banner on your lookup, shop, gallery, ect.

Ghost

Members with this rank have been in the guild for a while and have proven themselves to the guild council. To gain this rank, you must do the following:

001: You must participate in guild activities. 002: You must have at least 150 non-spam posts on the guild board. 003: You must earn 100 Sparkle War points.

Memory

Once you have met all the requirements of the Wanderer rank, you will be promoted to the Memory rank, Members of this rank must be active. To stay at this rank you must do the following:

001: You must be active on the guild board. 002: You must follow all guild rules and Neopets rules.

Wanderer

Wanderers are the new members of the guild. To level up and become a Memory, each new member has one week(starting from the day they join) to do the following.

001: Neofriend DarkenedSoul91. 002: Add your birthday to the guild calendar. 003: Enable your guild mailing. Click here to do so. 004: Fill out the Member Info form in the Members section and neomail it to Tina. 005: Read the guild rules. 006: Introduce yourself on the guild board. 007: Go to the Sparkle War page and choose a team to join. Other than using guild banners, we can advertise on the Guild Neoboards. Here you'll find a list of different types of ads as well as a board starter. None of these will exceed the character limit. I'm -insert name- from Scarlet Memories! What's Scarlet Memories, you ask? Well, it's the best private anime/manga guild currently out there, that's what! Webbie: { http://www.neopets.com/~dezmira } We're a chatty bunch, I must say, although we only have 17 members. Recently, though, we've realized that, close as we are, we've run out of things to say to each other! That's where you come in.	First of all, SM is a PRIVATE guild. We've been picky about our members ever since we realized that we had a LOT of dead weight floating around. So what do you have to do to join? There's a list of rules on the webbie, { http://www.neopets.com/~dezmira#application } that tells you how to join. Simply place the application on the petpage and send the link to Tina!
SM also has its own role-playing guild: Lucky Red Sock! Because some members do not wish to role-play in the guild, LRS was created so that those who wished to role-play could do so. You do not have to join LRS if you don't want to; simply talking in the main guild will be enough. If you would like to role-play, go ahead!	So, you ask, what about the members? Well, I'm happy to tell you that there are members in SM from all over the world! That means, hopefully, there will be one in your time zone that will chat with you, no matter the hour. (And for those of us who stay up late, that applies to you, too!) We're all family here - which means you'll be treated like one. Pranks and all!
Besides members and applications, SM is all about member involvement! Activities such as a banner contest, random contest, avatar hunt, and Member of the Month (and Week), and the Sparkle War (read the webbie for more information on each) abound. HOWEVER, SM DOES NOT OFFER PRIZES FOR WINNING THESE. They are prize-free. You will simply get a banner/certificate.	So, in light of viewing all of this, I do hope that you'll consider Scarlet Memories as your top pick for your new anime-related guild. I promise, this is the (insert personal viewpoint here, etc.).

Make The Advertisement Personal: Some people don't like to see list advertisements. It's not very welcoming. Try writing one directed towards the person you're trying to recruit. Remember to use their name. Read Their Rules: Most people have rules on their boards. You must read the first post! Not everyone wants an anime guild. And if you post in a board that doesn't want an anime guild, you'll only end up annoying that person. Answer Their Questions: If you offer to answer their questions, stick around and answer them! Don't just say that and leave the board. If you have to leave, simply tell them to neomail you if they have any questions. Where To Post List Advertisements: Post any list advertisement in a Scarlet Memories board you or another member creates. Bump the board with that every now and then. Unless someone asks for a list, do not post it any other board. Creating A Scarlet Memories Board: If you're going to create a board for the guild, make sure to talk about the guild, even if no one's there. It will bump the board while you're telling Neopia about everything we have to offer.

Activities List

Mini Plots: Inspired by Cat's Room 13, mini plots are exactly that. Mini plots! These are small events that will be hosted on major holidays by the council. Members can have some fun and earn awards for completing each mini plot.. [read more] Sparkle War: The Sparkle War is just what it's name suggests. A war... that sparkles. No, we're not insane. Wait.. that's a lie.. we are. xD But my point is that this war is epic! Choose a team and work your way through the ranks by participating in various activities... [read more] SM Connect: SM Connect is an original idea created specifically for SM by it's owner, Tina. SM Connect allows members to create a digital representation of their guild room on a spare petpage. They can blog, post art, comment on other rooms, create interactive activities and so much more... [read more] Graphics Contest: Many of our members love making graphics and since we're always in need of new graphics, we figured we should make a graphics contest to see who could make the best banner/icon/button following a specific theme... Mini Plots

Just like Neopets has their elaborate plots, SM does too! But they aren't as drawn out as Neo's. xD Instead, they are fun, short events that are easy enough for anyone to complete. Inspired by Cat's Room 13 on Halloween 2010, Mini Plots will now be a permanent part of SM.

What are Mini Plots?

Like stated before, mini plots are easy to complete events. Though most are probably going to be very lengthy and will require a lot of reading to complete. They will be hosted by a council member on one of their spare petpages. For now, only the council are allowed to create these. In the future, sub council and normal members might be allowed to create their own mini plots.

When do they take place?

Mini plots will happen on major, or not so major, holidays. Just depends on when inspiration hits. But most of the time these things are planned months in advance as it takes a lot of time, effort and coding to complete them. Not to mention all the revising that has to be done.

Do we get prizes?

Material prizes, such as NP or items, are not given out as it is against both SM and Neopets rules. But graphic awards will be given out for your hard work.

Planning a Mini Plot

If you are on council and you want to create a mini plot, please notify Tina in advance. You must tell her what holiday you plan to do it, how long it will run, and from what days it will run. The actual plot doesn't matter at that point. This is just to see if that holiday is available. It's best to reserve the days months in advance, that will give you enough time to work on the page.

About Us

Scarlet Memories is more than just an animanga/Japanese culture guild. We're also a home where friends can come together to chat about anything, have a good time and care about each other. We treat each other like family and look out for one another.

Aside from offering a place for otaku to chat about their favorite anime or video game, we offer a safe place to be yourself and share your thoughts. We respect each others opinions and try our best to be mindful of each others feelings.

We pride ourselves on being friendly and chatty but we do offer activities to keep our members entertained. From the graphics contest to the Sparkle War, there are several activities, ensuring there's something there for everyone. And if not, members are welcome to open and run their own activities.

Our members are also very helpful and aren't shy to answer questions or help out other members. We like to work together to get things done and pull off larger projects. We also like to help each other accomplish goals and encourage each other to work harder to meet those goals.

We are random and a bit silly but that's what makes us unique. Lots of odd things happen in the guild, like random Pokemon battles or a sudden Sparkle Water flood. And while you would think those things would bring us down, they don't. They just make us even closer.

Scarlet Memories has developed into something much bigger than any of us ever thought it would be. We come to the guild daily to talk to each other and for some of us, the guild is our only reason to be on Neopets. While we do lose members we still cherish the memories of them. But for those of us who have been around since the very start, we're very close and can't imagine leaving the guild anytime soon.
