Prologue

Though Arbor may now reside in a tropical paradise he did not originate from it. In fact, it was quite the opposite.
He was born close to the peak of Terror Mountain, to what seemed like the middle of nowhere.

His life was content with his Mother, Father, and baby brother-Addi. It was quite a pleasant and average life for any family.
Thier Village was nestled somewhere at the peak of the moutain. It was mainly occupied by other Draiks, however there was a resident elderly lupe couple-The Smiths.
However as predictable as it might be, tragedy struck. One by one, the residents of their humble village became sick with some strange disease, making them weaker and eventually slowly killing them.
Evenutally it affected Arbor's family, his grandparents falling first. They were often short of breath, their age helping the disease progress faster until they passed on. It spreaded through the cold air, hitting Reeves. His symptons identical to the others, Only he fought and prolonged his suffering, as well as his wife's.
Arbor faintly remembers these times. He spent a lot of time with his brother, his mother was never around anymore. He felt alone and frightened- Don't come in Mine and daddy's room, He'll make you sick. Sicroen would tell her child. Though he was young and confused, he just wanted his mother. Many of days he'd look out the window and see one of the neighbors fall and not get up. Untill he too, started feeling bad. His nose was constantly running, his head felt like it was going to explode. He was always coughing. But Roen never noticed, bing too buisy with Reeves. One day Arbor couldn't take being so sick, he pushed open his parents door and looked up at his mother. She in returned gave him a stern look. His father was gone, and all Arbor could tell her was I don't feel so good mommy
In a desperate attempt to help Arbor, Roen flew off to Mystery Island to search for their old family friends, the Smiths. They were a elderly lupe couple who had lived next door to Arbor's family for years. Rob and Gypsy Smith had moved recently in hopes of escaping the virus. Roen Left Arbor to stay in their care and she soon left to retrieve Addi. But she never came back. It was the last little Arbor saw of his mother.
---------------------------------------
As a child, Arbor grew up on stories told about his mother and father. The vast majority of the tales were of his brave mother. Papa Smitty, as he had affectionately dubbed Rob Smith, enjoyed telling him about her...But could really have cared less about Reeves. Rob was like a father, thinking Reeves wasn't good enough for Roen. Luckily his wife knew the importance of the child know both of his parents. Thus whenever it was her turn to tell a bed time story it was often about Reeves...Or even the both of them. So many of nights the young draik would dream of his parents and watch the stories he heard so many times come to life in his mind. Then after waking up he'd play and try to reenact them himself. He never played with any other children, for his health was awful.
He escaped the fate of death, true, but he would never lead a normal healthy life; and couldn't keep up with the other active children.

But the one thing that truly bothered him was where his mother was at, and the rest of his family. The older he got the more persistent he was into finding them..

Chapter 1

The day was sunny, quite the normal of weather for mystery island. It was the perfect day, the weather just perfect for his journey from home. Arbor was twenty years old, and after so many years of wondering he decided it was time for him to find his family. Of course even now that he was older and indeed stronger, he was still far too weak to travel on his on. Mema Gypsy and Papa Smitty were far too old to go with him. It was recently that he had joined a traveling military. traveling with these people would make him stronger, and along the way he could look for his family. It was the perfect plan, and it was about to start happening on the perfect day.
Of course his Mema objected against it, but there was nothing they could do to stop him.
He smiled as the sad excuse of a pier came into view. Quite a few of islanders where lounging by the ship, all ready to start their own journey.
Arbor!
He turned and grinned lighthearted as he saw the Smiths hurrying over to him.
Arbor, dear, are you so sure about this? I'm sure your mother will come here eventually. Please, just stay here. Gypsy begged, Rob remained silent much like he often did.
.Mema, you know I already made up my mind. Besides, Mother could be lost, or wounded. I want to see with my own eyes that she is okay. Maybe she'll even have little Addi with her. I'm sorry, I love the two of you so much. But you know you'll never replace my family, I have to see them. He told her grasping onto the lupess' hand. He had told her this over and over again, but she was just as stubborn as he was. Rob put his arm over his wife, Arbor knew his Papa understood, and he wasn't going to even try to change his mind. Gypsy gave him a tight hug, clinging on to him. I know...Nothing I say is going to change you mind. But please be safe baby. Your Mother would have a fit if she found out we let anything happen to you. Gypsy said while hugging him after letting go she quickly dabbed her wet eyes with a napkin.
Remember to write us boy. Rob smiled and handing Arbor a box of stationary. We'll be expecting a letter a month. he added Gypsy nodded her head in agreement.
Chuckling Arbor replied I will, don't worry. the ship's loud horn blew and echoed throughout the sky. The others were hugging their families and getting on the vessel. Okay I have to go. He stated, a hint of excitement in his voice.Quickly he hugged the both of them and ran to the ship.
Take care Arbor! We love you. Gypsy called out.
Ya better write boy, or else I'll find ya beat ya personally. Rob joked waving his large paw far over his head in hopes for the young Draik to see.
Now on the ship Arbor waved back, Bye, Mema, Goodbye Papa Smitty! He called out as loud as he could. He wasn't sure they could hear him though. So many other people were doing the same as him.

His journey was about to begin, he was going to find his family. And show him how well he'd grown, It would be just like before. Closing his murky green eyes he imagined it, a light smile across his features as the ship docked off and sailed away from his home.

Chapter 2

It had been a year sense he had left home. He noticed it, he notice it when it first began. How everyone treated him, these solders, his 'friends'. They knew of his health; and they shelter him for it. Whenever the weather was bleak he was forced to stay inside his tent. Same for when the sun was far to blazing ,skyrocketing the temper. They'd constantly help him through the obstacle course. They were babying him! At this rate he'd never get any stronger. He'd be as weak as the day he left.
Sighing Arbor leaned back against the tree he had decided to rest at. He was in the process of writing Mema Gypsy and Papa Smitty a letter. It talked about how well he was doing, how much better he felt and how he could see improvements in his strength. He hated lying to them, It made him feel even worse then thinking of how he was treated. If it was even possible. turning his head he looked out of the resident the troops and himself were visiting. It was Shenku, He never imagined he would ever be there. Well seeing as the others were busy training, something he rarely got to do, he might as well go site seeing. After all maybe he could find something to send to the Smiths for once.

After walking around and finding a free trinkets to buy he stopped. There wasn't many people walking about in the area he was in. He spotted a few now and then, but other then that...none. It was quiet as well, the few people he did see were rushing home. Thinking on this hardly he jumped at the sound of two men talking to one another. Two middle aged men casually walking and having a conversation. Nothing important..except what they were talking about. So anyway, I hear tell that sir Lullerd was looking for the statue of Draconian. The first said, he was a white Mynci, small and thin. The second, a chubby grayish wocky sporting a long beard spoke up. That old wives tale? Does he think that's true or something. I haven't heard the rumor much myself but I can tell you it's already a bunch of bologna.
Oh I don't know...It sounds tempting, a statue that will bless anyone with untold amounts of strength. I don't blame him.

Arbor stopped listening after the Mynci had spoke.
Strength...? That means.....He wouldn't have to train. He could become strong and easily fly around as he pleased to find his family. Even better, he wouldn't burden his old friends in the military.

It was the perfect plan, it would help everybody. And no harm would be done. But first he needed to learn about, in which he was sure a trip to the library could help.

Chapter 3

He had gathered as much resources he could find. It was said the Statue of Draconian was rumored to be found somewhere in the vast mountains that separated the main Neopian continent. Most of the books, websites, news articles said around that general area. Though most of them were rumor...But of course the whole idea of the statue is a rumor. It was the hope that is was real and that would help him that lead Arbor. He traveled for a few years it had seemed.

It had been easy enough to get away from the solders, during a mountain climb in Shenku, he slipped away acting as if he was lost. Shortly after he returned to the town and mailed a letter to the Smiths that stating I'm okay, don't worry or look for me. Afterwards he bought a large backpack and filled it up with food and many bottles of water and mixes for the water... When he became tired of drinking something unflavored. He had not expected the trip to last as long as it was.
Luckily he had 'borrowed' a book from the library, showing what was edible. For he quickly ran out of food and had to live on what he could. when ever he found a container he'd wash it and use to store even more water. For when ever he found a source he never knew when was the next time he'd find another.
Oh so many years looking, he had to stop and rest due to his weak body. Or he'd get side tracked and have to retrace steps.

He was starting to get obsessed with finding this rumored statue. He never even noticed that by pushing himself to find it, he was getting stronger.
I'll find that statue. I'll be strong and I'll show them all. I'm not a weakling. I don't need them to babysit me!

Such was a common conversation for him to go into with himself. Talking made it better, made him feel like he wasn't alone.

Chapter 4

It was a warm murky day, Arbor had feel asleep in a cave he managed to find in the cliff side. The area he was in...It was almost impossible to reach, the trees too thick for most to fly. The ground was too murky to walk on, and the cliff too steep to climb down to get to.
He opened his eyes and looked around. It looked just the same as when he woke up yesterday...Just a different area. yawning his turned his head to look inside the cave he rested in. His eyes widened, and he quickly scrambled to his feet. There was odd patterns etched in the walls ,the further he followed, the more detailed they got. Eventually the cave itself began to become smooth, Making it appear more like a room. The dusty wall carving started to glitter under his light source he was forced to pull out to see. Gold, it seemed to be, with dark red gems helping to decorate it. When the hallway ended, he saw a pedestal near the back, on top of it a statue. It was around two feet tall and not that wide. It was a ashy black color, the eyes dark blood red rubies. It was..Hideous..this statue, like a demonic dragon outlooking the place ready to steal a person's souls with it's bloody gaze.

If he had been in his right mind Arbor would have turned around as soon as he saw it. The statue reeked of evil, it looked like nothing that could bless anything at all.
But he wasn't in his mind, all he could think of was the power he'd get and only imagine the things he could do with it. The Draconian's own power seemed to drive him even more to madness. Though as soon as he grabbed it to pick it up, it felt like a electric surge shot through his body. The immense pain knocking him unconscious.

Fire he smelt fire. It was blazing, the heat unreal. The only sound greater then the crackling of the flames was the screaming. So much screaming, many people where in pain. he could see them, dying from the flames. Monsters attacking them in the middle of the streets. Small children, Seniors; all faceless people. No one he'd even seen before, though he felt compelled to help. However every time he got close, the people died, by his own hands. He could hear his own insane laughing, lashing out attacking more, getting a rush of power-

His eyes snapped open, Breathing heavily he glanced around and looked down at himself. The first thing he realized was how powerful he looked, For once in his life he had muscles. Quickly he ran out of the cave, he felt mighty like he could knock over buildings. He jumped the closest beast he could find.

The creature easily over powered him though, sending him back on the muddy ground. It snorted in anger and turned to leave not the least bit impressed with him. The scars were deep right over his eye, it stun badly. The blood covering much of his face, his whole body stunned from being sent back so easily.
I should be strong...
He muttered to himself as he limped back down the cave. His upper paw resting over his eye, in hopes to help with the bleeding. He had left his supplies down in the cave, he'd need them to bandage his wound. His backpack was leaning against the pedestal of the statue, he went to grab it. His attention quickly turned to the statue....It was him... It looked different. It was more rounded and the wings feathery much like his own, even the eyes...The gems matched the color of his eyes. The only thing wrong was the evil grimace it held on it's face.

Frightened he ran back out running to the nearest body of water to look. His beautiful feathers were all gone, his one good eye was a blood red. He looked just like the statue from before.

His legs felt weak, how could he find his family now? How could expect to impress his mother, and for him to love someone who didn't even look like her son anymore.
He felt like every thing...Was lost...

Beach View Restaurant

the Beach View Restaurant is Arbor's place of business.
He along with Mrs. Smith are the cooks for the establishment. It was opened up shortly after the smith's moved to Mystery Island. This being for a dream they had of owner their own successful business of their own. Though it isn't considered a five star restaurant it does have many customers a day. But only a few employees to keep it running.

[I'll have a map layout of the restaurant here eventually]

The Menu

The Beach View restaurant offers many food for selection. Even food for petpets that come in on an occasion.
The Restaurant even acts as a bakery, selling off home baked pies, cakes, and other goodies for a customer in a hurry.
They even have a small selection of candy located at the desk for customers to buy for their children as treats. All the foods are located only on mystery island, or made with fruits and ingredients only found on the island. The Smiths' being very strict of never taking inportated foods.

Family

Sicroen is Arbor's loving mother. The woman his guardians told him stories about every night. He finally met up with her in Altador. Shock, happy and a little bit hurt; the two of them are trying to rekindle the bond they once had when he was little.

Arbor can't remember much of his father, Reeves. He was still very young when the man passed away of illness. All he can remember is everyone telling him Reeves was sick. That he couldn't go near him, he remember his mother always by his side and crying.

Arbor is a avid reader, Because he's a cheif though his favorites are cook books.
These books are a little hard to come by but he's saving up his pay checks in hopes to read them all. here's the cook books he's read so far:
