First off, I'm tired of scammers. I have better things to do with my neopoints than buy replacement items to lend.
Also, I'm in my final year of university. I'm only coming on neopets to play a few games when I need a break.
Please DO NOT neomail me about lending. I will take this notice down when I have more time and feel safe about lending again.

So...you want to get a special, super rare avatar? (Ok. Maybe not super rare). Still, lending is a great way to get those conveted pixels without having to spend the imaginary money you work so hard to earn on Neopets.
All joking aside, lending can be both beneficial and detrimental. Many Neopians need to understand that most lenders are taking a huge risk when we offer to give away our items or pets. Past experience has taught all of us to be careful because Neopia is not the peaceful place we all imagine it to be. It is a world filled with those that like to steal in the hopes of making an easy profit.

That is unbelievable you might say. However, it has happened and continues to happen every day. Therefore, do not get discouraged because someone won't lend you. Most lenders like to see that you have put time and effort into your account. If you don't care about your account and pets, why would you care about the item we are lending?
So, if you can understand our side of the process, hopefully one day we can all live again in a peaceful Neopia where avatar lending is a wonderful thing.

Rules

Take 'em or leave 'em

Yes, I have rules. I'm sorry. It may seem like a lot, but just bear in mind that not all of them apply to certain items/pets/situations.

1. I prefer to lend items for full collat. One, this helps reduce the chances that someone is going to steal from me. Two, if they do anyways, well at least I got paid for the item that they took. Don't know why people would do that...but whatever.

2. I will lend for low/no collat IF: I owe you a favour; you are my BFF; or I deem your account acceptable (meaning you've put a lot of effort into your pets and collecting trophies, etc).

3. Please no sob stories telling me that you just painted your favourite pet purple and you have no money left. To be honest, I don't care how you spend your NPs. If you have no money because you've invested it into your account, I will see evidence of that.

4. No, I DO NOT LEND to sides. (Unless you have full collat.) Sorry.

5. I would prefer if you have over 200 avaters. Since at least 100 of them are either clickables or require really cheap items, it shouldn't be hard.
A side note to this: minimums - Basics = 75 avvies; Icy Snowflake = 125 avvies; FQD = 175 avvies. Everything else is 200.

6. Proof of 'expensive' or hard-to-get avatars is helpful. Again, it goes with the whole 'prove your account's worth' thing.

7. As for pets, I WILL ONLY do TRANSFERS. This means that no one can 'pound snipe' my pet. So, if you are borrowing a pet, make sure your account is old enough and have available transfers for the month.


Only a couple more...


8. Don't get mad at me if I politely refuse to lend you. It is my choice - not yours. If you want, I can give you advice on how to get your account looking more acceptable so you appeal to potential lenders. (Although don't look for game tips because I am terrible.)

9. Finally, last but not least, BE LITERATE! In the famous words jennyboogy 'seriously - if you are going to say "plz" because it is shorter than "please", then I will say "no" because it is shorter than "yes".' I don't mind if you neomail me or find me on a board, but please use proper English. I'm an English major, so it's kind of important to me.

There; you're done. Was that really so difficult?
