There Are Some Things To Consider BEFORE You Purchase A Paint Brush For Your Pet.


Did you know that some pets can't be painted some colours?


Before "BUYING" a paint brush it would be a good idea to know what colours your pet can be painted.


Go here RAINBOW POOL to check the colours available for your pet's species. Choose your pet's species and then click the submit button and you will see all the colours that are available for that Pet.


When You have decided what colour you like. Check the Paint Brushes listed below and see if it is a colour you get from a Paint Brush. Not all colours come from Paint Brushes.



Dont buy a stone or a glass unless you are a collector, you can't paint your pet with them. They can be found with the shop wizard so can primary colours & invisible.



Starter Paint Brushes can't be traded or sold or given away!



There Are Other Things That You Can Do To Change The Colour Of Your Pet!


Morphing Potions - Transmogrification Potions & Magical Plushies will change your pet to a specific colour and species.


Chia Pops will change your Chia's appearance.

The Secret Lab Ray will change your pet in many random ways. Please note that I said RANDOM.

Flask of Rainbow Fountain Water

Using this item will cause a totally random colour change. It can be reeled on when you are fishing or purchased at the Trading Post or Auctions. People are asking 750K and up for it. That's a lot of NP for a one use item with a random outcome.









Free or Cheap Paint Brushes are rare on Neopets.

The Fruit Machine - The Wheel Of Monotony - Test Your Strength - Tombola sometimes (rarely) give a Paint Brush as a Prize.

There are also rare random events where a Faerie or Jacko will give you a Free Paint Brush.

I myself have had a few winter random events where I found a Christmas Paint Brush. I also had a tyrranian random event where I found a Tyrannian Paint Brush. So the chances of finding a free Paint Brush increase when you explore Terror Mountain & Tyrannia.

Fountain Faerie Quests are rare and they are not free. You have to buy the item she is looking for and then she will allow you to paint a pet at the Rainbow Fountain.

I have been told that Paint Brushes one of the prizes for assembling World Challange Maps, you wont get a Paint Brush every time you assemble a WC Map

The Alien Vending Machine sometimes Paint Brushes as a prize! It will cost ya a Nerkmid to get one and you may not get a Paint Brush!

Some people say they find Cheap Paint Brushes on the Wiz. Sometimes people misprice them because they dont know any better or because they are having a "Super Sale".
Lucky Them!
I have yet to "snipe" a Paint Brush on the Wiz since they have become unbuyable in shops!

I did get a free Paint Brush by becoming a Premium Member and referring 3 members. In order to get the Referral Gifts the people that you refer have to keep it beyond the Free Trial Period.

I have never gotten a paint brush from a cracker, a goody bag, a beautifully wrapped present, a seasonal gift box or a trick or treat bag. Some people have claimed they did, but I think it's a myth.









MOST Paint Brushes are sold at the Trading Post or at Auctions. Notice that PAINT BRUSH is TWO WORDS, not everyone realizes that.

Some Paint Brushes can be purchased at the Hidden Tower. Keep in mind they cost more there than they do at the trading post.

I have listed the average price of each paint brush below to give you an approximate cost. Please understand that the prices fluctuate and you may find them costing a little more or a little less. If there is a drastic price change please let me know in neomail.

When purchasing a Paint Brush in trades, enter the EXACT name of the Paint Brush you are looking for into the Trading Post Browser and make sure you choose the option "IDENTICAL TO MY PHRASE", look at all the trades, note the cheapest & average prices. Try neomailing the seller to see if they are willing to haggle, not everyone does, but some people do.

You might also want to post on The Trades/Auctions board to look for a seller and negotiate a deal.

It is unfortunate that there are people playing this game and doing things to scam others out of their items and neopoints.

I hope that I can help prevent some of you from falling for a scam.

The biggest scam going is people trying to sell Paint Brush Plushies as Paint Brushes. Paint Brush Plushies are toys and they can not paint your pets!

If the items name ends in PLUSHIE that means it is a TOY! So Please Pay Attention!

If you look closely you will see that the handle on the plushie is rounder than the Paint Brush handle.

You will also notice that there isnt any paint dripping from the plushie either.

All of the plushie handles are rounded like this and none of the plushies have any paint dripping from them.

NEVER EVER EVER GIVE ANYONE YOUR P/W FOR ANY REASON!

TNT will not ask you for it!

They are not going to give you a Paint Brush or a Job or Items Or Neopoints.

Don't ever buy an overpriced item in someone's shop because they tell you they will send you a Paint Brush.
This is one of the oldest scams on Neopets.

You can not get a paint brush by visiting an offsite link.
Those off site links usually have either a fake log-in page or scripts that will steal your neopet log-in cookie so stay away from them.

You can not get a free paint brush by posting a copy of a message on the boards. TNT does not approve of them, it is called a chain letter and is against the rules.

Do not allow someone to talk you into making a "SPLIT BID".

A split bid is when someone is selling an item on the trading post that costs more than 800K. They will tell you to offer part on a junk bid and part on the item you want.

I can't tell you how many people I have seen post that they have been scammed like this, even long time players.

If an item costs more than 800K ask the person to sell it to you using a Private Auction. It may take longer, but it will save you some grief.
