~Make your own background!~

Why look for a background when you can make one?

Make a repeating background:

Ok, let's say you want to draw one. Think of a design...how about...polka dots! Blue and green polka dots on a yellow background. First: Open up MS paint. You may need to make that white box (where you paint your pictures) smaller, like the one in my example.

I highlighted necessary tools and colors and also did the drawing for you. Now you have to go to "file" and then "save as" and pick a name for your background. I chose dotted. (Now, you need to upload it. I use photobucket.com because it's free. So sign up, or sign in to photobucket. You may need to click "my album" I can't quite remember, but I know you'll figure it out. So you should get to a page where it has your uploaded images (if you have already uploaded some pictures)

This picture should explain itself...if you still have questions Neomail my owner Ok, so now you drew your background, you uploaded it, and you want to put it on your page, your shop, your user lookup etc. Copy the url.

Just copy the code in the textarea below and put it in your shop, gallery, petpage, user lookup or pet lookup.Replace the url of your pic with this one.

This code is not a real background because this background was made by me, so only I can use it. You can make your background fixed:

You can also make a background that doesn't repeat but fills up the entire page. (Or close anyway) However, you cannot exceed 1024kb on a free photobucket account. But you still use the same process as the steps above. (just make your picture bigger). Or if you want to draw pictures and put them on your page but not as a background, then you would use this code:

<a href="#nameofcode">Nameofsection</a> - put this code anywhere on the page (I suggest the top of the page) "#nameofcode" - this tells the computer what part of the page the quick jump should go to. replace welcome with a word. (remember that word because you'll need it later) Nameofsection- This is the name of the section the quick jump will go to. Now, put this code where you want the quick jump to go to. (in this case, your welcome section) <a name="#nameofcode1"></a> change nameofcode1 with the exact same word that you use for the code above. (where nameofcode is)

~Drawing Tips~

Well, when you draw it may be helpful to look at your pet. So copy an image of your pet and paste it next to your drawing space.

When you draw, draw close up (on MS Paint: click the magnifer tool and click the space you want to see close up)This helps me at least, but it may not for others.

Use the "line" tools too. And make them small so you can adjust them more easily to the shape you want them to form.

Depending on what you are drawing, you may want the colors to look the same as what you are trying to draw. For example, I may want the colors of my kacheek adoptables to have the same colors as the neopets baby kacheek. Use the "pick color" tool (the one next to the magnifer).

Shading the picture also helps; it gives the picture a more "real" look to it. Add some darker spots where you think the should go. Under arms, behind ears, around the face. And you can also add shadows too.

~Petpage "looks" Tips~

Having trouble trying to figure out how to do your layout? Or maybe what you should include on your page? Hopefully you'll learn some more tips to help you finish that page up!

First, the info: "I can't decide what I want to put on my page, I mean I want it to look unique."
Ok, well what is your page about? Is it about your pet? That would make a nice page to read especially considering it is your pet's page. Ok, well make up a story. Maybe your story is about how you find your pet, or how your pet gained a special talent. Your story could be what your page is going to be about. Now, you want to give some info about your pet. What it likes, dislikes, stats, what is does everyday, how it's feeling right now, etc...But the best thing to do is be creative and make things up as you go. Make it fun.
Now, the layout. Well, what is your page about? Make your layout look like the info on the page. I suggest that you draw it and upload it. Then put some scroll boxes and position them where they need to go. (look at My brother's page for an example). And add some cool colors to make it look interesting.
