Welcome
to Triple G Adoptions!
Hey! I'm Gelaxa, and welcome to Triple G Adoptions! Here, my owner, Quizzer, her siblings, and I take in lost Gelerts and Grundos and find them forever homes! Interested in adopting? Cool! Follow me.
About Triple G
Because we're hoping you wanted to know.
What are the Triple Gs? Gelerts, Grundos, and Gelaxa (that's me!). Why? Well, Gelerts, because we're just so cute no one can stand to see us crying and hungry; Grundos, because they're pretty cute, too, and there are so many in the pound; and me, because "Double G" doesn't sound that great, so Quizzer wanted to add my name. XD
When we're looking for a new foster, we check lists of pets that are "stuck" in the pound. A "stuck" pet will never show up during regular pound surfing. You have to type their name into the search bar in order to find them. Quizzer says it has something to do with the pet's name, and you can find more about that here.
Okay, definitely my turn. Hey! I'm Cumular, Gelaxa's brother. We both run Triple G, but she gets the spotlight because she represents two of the Gs.
Anyway, I'm gonna guide you through the rest of Triple G, so hang tight!
The Rules
Follow 'em!
So you might have noticed that foster parents are big on rules, and Quizzer is no exception, but you won't have to jump through ridiculous hoops in order to adopt one of her fosters.
First off, you need to neomail newenglandquizzer, and put the name of the pet you want to apply for in the subject. Do not neomail any of her other accounts!
Then you need to work on your application. Neomail and petpage applications are both fine, though if you make a petpage app, be sure to put on it a disclaimer saying Quizzer didn't force you to make it. Also, if your neomail app will run over two neomails, just copy and paste it into a blank petpage. It's so easy to lose things! D:
If you do make a petpage app, Quizzer doesn't want it to be super-long. For one thing, she doesn't have the time to be reading 10-section-long apps, and for another, it's not fair that you put so much work into something when you're not even guaranteed the pet. Quizzer chooses the best owner for her fosters, not the best coder or the best artist or the best writer. If you have artwork or stories that's way cool man, honest, but we don't need an amazing petpage layout to see it. If you are super good at coding, just show us examples of pages you've already made, and don't work on one that's specifically for one of our fosters. Do that later, if you're chosen-- that's the fun of owning a pet, after all! So basically, y'know, go with simple and to the point. It's better for all of us. :)
Now, we want to see these things in your app. They don't need to be in this order, and you can work them in as creatively as you want.
- List ALL your accounts, including frozen ones, and tell us why these were frozen. Quizzer won't hold it against you; she just wants to know.
- Which account will the pet go to? It must have less than four pets—do NOT pound one of your current pets just so you can adopt one of ours! B( Of course, exceptions will be made for foster parents or other people who, like Quizzer, always have their extra spaces filled with pets they are adopting out. Just explain that in your app.
- Why do you want this pet? Show us you care, don't just tell us.
- What are your plans for the pet?
- A little about you. We want to get to know you a bit as an owner and a person!
- Never, never, never, never abandon a pet just to make room for one of ours. B(
Still want some help? Here are some good guides to making applications.
Tips
These things are extra, but they'll still help your app!
These things will help keep your app from being too… blah. Quizzer LOVES creativity!
- Be creative! Interpret that however you want.
- Create a framework character for the pet. Even a simple list of likes and dislikes shows us you see the pet as more than just boring pixels. You can map out the pet's whole past and future if you want, but remember that Quizzer is a busy person and might stop reading if your app is too long and detailed! D8
- Use the pet's proper name and gender. "Its" are bad. Nicknames are great!
- Proper English. And never chatspeak. If English is not your first language, just tell us. :)
- Happy pets. Hey man, if you can't keep your current pets happy and fed, are you really up to the task of taking on another?
- If you write or draw, we'd love to see examples. If you want to do something for the pet you're applying for that's fine, but not at all necessary. :)
- A mini "meet the family." We want to know about you and some of the pets you have now, to see if our foster will fit well with you.
Notes
You're gonna want to pay attention to these.
- Quizzer is an English major, so please-please-PLEASE run your app through Spell Check before sending it in. Good grammar impresses her more than you will ever know. And don't use semicolons. Just… don't. -_-
- Most of the Triple G fosters don't have deadlines for apps. Quizzer tends to be a strange combination of patience and hastiness. Patience, because she'll wait until just the right owner shows up, no matter how long it takes; and hastiness, because as soon as that owner is found, the pet will be at their doorstep. So if you're planning to apply… don't dawdle! You might discover the pet has already been adopted if you wait.
- You can paint, morph, zap, or change the gender of any Triple G you adopt, unless otherwise specified. If you plan on changing the pet in any way, you might want to mention it in your app.
