Personality
There was a time when Blackfire was a moderately whimsical wolf of light hearted fantasies and was even playful, but since the loss of her partner, Haine, and their unborn pups; atop of the pack's most recent misfortunes Blackfire's disposition has twisted to become one of strong, reclusive aggression.
Out of the pack's line of sight the strong front Blackfire has built up crumbles as she succumbs to her own sorrows; however, when before them she stands unwavering for her fears lead her to believe that they will undoubtedly turn on and leave her if any were to ever find out what a spineless, emotionally wrecked, coward she really is.
Appearance
For the most part Blackfire's pelt is made up of dense soot colored fur. Tainted only by a few white tinged patches down the back of her neck and to her haunches; the tips of her ears, the underside of her muzzle, and front paws.
Her limbs are long, and her stomach drawn is in due to the lack of proper nutrition, though her thick winter pelt does do a fairly good job of hiding her exposed ribs. Once striking white eyes have now taken on a hazy grey hue. They also seem to have sunken in a bit, giving her a look of constant exhaustion, which in reality she isn't too far off from.
History
Blackfire was not born a wolf of Timber Ridge, but was actually born to their rival pack. Her life there was pleasant and full as she grew into adult hood. Or so it was until her fateful run in with Haine. The first meeting of the two young wolves was of course hostile in the beginning; both of them having been raised to distrust the wolves of their neighboring pack. But through an interesting course of discussion and several meetings there after the pair fell in love.
Not much later Blackfire decided to leave her family and birth pack to join Haine as his alpha female. Her pack was angry to say the least upon discovering that she'd abandoned them. They were quick to disown her. Blackfire has not seen nor heard anything of them since.
The trust and respect of her new pack was hard earned, but in due time it was rightfully earned. For nearly two full years after the wolves of Timber Ridge lived in relative peace, but the arrival of man in their territory one hazardous winter brought all of that to an end.
A hunting party lead by Haine were the first to make contact with the two-legged nemesis. This get together was something much less than friendly as Haine and several other wolves were shot dead on sight. The few of the hunting party that remained fled without hesitation. One among them was severely wounded and died shortly after reaching the pack's den site. The two wolves who by some stroke of luck survived the whole ordeal hurriedly explained what had happened to the rest of the pack. Blackfire was distraught, but there was nothing she could do. This place they had always known as home was no longer safe. Their only option was to run.
Two days into their journey Blackfire lost her pups. The stress of losing her mate and then moving the pack was just too much for her body. Despite it all Blackfire has not given up and she continues to lead her pack through the treacherous winter in search of a new, human free home.

Introduction
Blackfire's dark coat contrasted heavily with the bleak, white terrain, as she sits on the peak of a snow drift overlooking her feeble pack that's temporarily taken refuge in the clearing below. A bitter feeling of rage boils in the pit of her stomach as she looks on through her tired, grey eyes, and it shows outwardly as ridges form over the top of her slender muzzle in a silent snarl. Cut short by an untimely gust of icy wind Blackfire chokes on her snarling frustration as she is caught off guard by the sudden, and intense chill. Her rib cage expands as she draws in a sudden gasp of breath. Now the outline of her malnourished body is clearly visible, even through her thick winter pelt. The cold air rakes it's unmerciful claws down her throat and burns in her lungs.
As the cold front slowly passes Blackfire allows herself to relax somewhat in the still frigid temperatures. Pulling herself to her paws she stands and shakes away the snow that's settled on her back, though to little avail as it is quickly replaced by the seemingly constant fall of snow. Slowly she makes her careful decent down the snow drift back to the meager, but still valued warmth of her pack.
