~The Origin~

Chuted struts the design that resembles a creature that few people have ever heard of. A creature that has fallen victim to poaching over 30 years ago and no longer inhabits this earth. The Quagga is a subspecies of the Plains Zebra that lived in South Africa until at late 1970s. Few have ever heard of this odd colored wild horse, and few people ever will. So I've dedicated Chuted to educating young kids of today of this extinct beauty.
Although there are programs today that have made very successful attempts to bring back this creature, so little know about them still! The picture above is of a wild horse that belongs to a herd of Quagga look-alikes. In Kaboo, South Africa, a small lab has gotten remarkably close to giving life to a once forgotten animal.
The Quagga Project uses selective breeding to get as close as they can to a modern day Quagga. Since cloning is not an option because they need living cells to clone, breeding is the only way to get as close as they can. With thier help, hopefully one day the world will know of these magnificent creatures again and fall in love with them.

~The Beginning~
Like any other foal my age, I was as bright and curious as the next one. I grew up in a vast terra with unforgiving weather and dry seasons. There were many different species of inhabitants, and I was one of the hundreds of equines. And unlike many others, I was born into one of the stronger, larger herds. My uncle was the herd leader, and I was his favorite nephew. I grew up an only child, my mother and father only needed one strong colt for a son and I was it. They never told me why, just that it had something to do with my uncle and incase he couldn't be herd leader anymore. But when uncle was overpowered, for some reason, they didn't come to me to be their next leader.
My mother was a grand old dam who raised me well. She protected me and loved me as long as she could. Until uncle was overthrown from power at least. After his reign, nothing was ever the same again. Everything changed. My mother was taken from me when I was only a yearling because of the new tyrant's temper. I was supposed to have a new sibling... I remember she had a deep mocha pelt and dark points. Warm blue eyes and no horn like I, but wings. I still wonder why I never was given the gift of flight like her.
My father however, I know little of. I only saw him once and I immediately could tell where I had gotten my stripes from. He was enormous when I saw him. He towered above me and my mother as we rested in an open field one day. He said nothing to either of us, just snorted and gave me a terrible look. My sire turned and walked into the night, never to be seen again. I've tried to convince mother to tell me of him, but she told me to wait until I was older.
After my mother died, I was still only a yearling, and very much alone in a large herd. The new leader never gave me the light of day, and made sure I never came close to taking his throne on the savannah. Knowing not a single other equine, I had to leave. I abandoned the protection of a family, but it was never my family in the first place. From then on, I've spent my life roaming the lands, searching to fill my empty void. From the icy tundras to the scorched deserts I've traveled. I've met few equines since, but those whom I've met, I am very thankful for.

This is Narf. A spotted stallion that I have just met recently. He and I are already forming a solid bond and I hope we never part.


-Qriek-
Qriek is Narf's younger brother by blood. He's very quiet and sometimes that gets between us. I don't know much about him except he had a past that scared him for life. He's very independent but he's still a good guy.


-Natalinoe-
This here, is Natalinoe. The most recent to the family, before I. We both found home at about the same time with our owner. You can ask anyone, his coat is exotic beyond imagination. Well, to me atleast. I've never seen anything like it but he calls himself an Appaloosa. Hm. This youngling has much to learn but I like him already. For the most part.

A new mare I met very recently. Still getting to know her, but she seems to be a trustworthy friend.

Gelerina is also a new face to me. He's a gelert like Zahke and as far as I know, he's a pretty nice gelert. He has a younger sister which I dont know of. Again, much of him is unkown to me.
