Origin of the Name
Chinensis Designs was derived from the flower, Rosa Chinensis
which is more known as the China Rose in English. It is a member of the genus Rosa native to Southwest China in Guizhou, Hubei, and Sichuan Provinces (Wikipedia). Being a big fan of the anime/series, 'Maria Watches Over Us' (マリア様がみてる), Yoosshi decided to use the name for her site as she, herself, likes roses and finds the name mysterious.
Formerly named as 'Haibane Designs,' Chinensis Designs
was created by Yoosshi (atrociology
) in 2005. Along with her co-owner and real-life friend Munette, they designed multiple graphics and layouts for Xanga-users. After few months, the site itself was placed into indefinite hiatus because both owners became busy with school. Inevitably, it was closed down. In Summer 2008, Yoosshi alone decided to create an extension of Chinensis in Crunchyroll as she finally found the time to make graphics (as well as she really liked the community). She did, however, have 6 other moderators to help her out. Again, because of the lack of time to maintain the group, it was closed soon after.
Where graphics bloom into art
As of the 15th of October 2011, Chinensis Designs
was officially launched here in Neopets and requests were opened for Neopians. It was placed in indefinite hiatus in Spring 2012 to let her focus on her studies. It was, long after, re-opened on the 12th of October 2013.
About the Owner
is a XX-year-old Asian girl who is obsessed
with cute, little things. She is still
in school, trying to take up Nursing. She procrastinates a lot although she knows that it's really /really/ bad for her. She likes watching anime and these ff. TV series: Doctor Who, House, and Big Bang Theory.
She started using Photoshop (and making graphics) in 2005. However, her skills didn't really improve much since then because she rarely used it because of the lack of time to do so (off and on throughout the years). Button-making is actually still quite new to her as she did not make a lot of those in the past; thus, she is currently learning to do it.
