| Pencil's Guide to the Employment Agency |
| Welcome! So, you want to learn how to do jobs at the Employment Agency? If so, you've come to the right Petpage! |
| What You'll Need |
| In this section of the guide (and next), we'll be concentrating on Basic Jobs. I find that most Basic Jobs don't pay or cost any more that 6000, but some do, so have 8000 NP on hand (some cost 9000, so it's your choice if you have 8000 or 9000 out). You should also have 2 other windows open - the Employment Agency and the Shop Wizard (or Super Shop Wizard if you have Premium). Also, ensure you have no more than 44 items in your inventory, so that you'll have enough space to accomidate the items you'll be buying (the most items I've ever had to buy for one job is 6). |
| Getting A Job |
| As said at the top of both the Super Jobs and Basic Jobs pages, jobs "restock", or more become available, every 10 minutes. The clock at the side is a great asset so that you'll know when you should refresh. Now, jobs do not restock on the minute, as the Kadoatery and some other activities do. They begin at 5 seconds before every tenth minute. So in an hour, job restocks begin at 09:55, 19:55, 29:55, 39:55, and 49:55, and 59:55. When one of those times come, quickly refresh once at the Basic Jobs page. Immediatly start scrolling down. As soon as it comes in sight, click on the job AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN (most people go for the top ones, so there won't be as much rush on the bottom one). You will be taken to another page, and this page will state if you got the job or not. If you got the job (be sure to double check that you actually GOT it, it's easy to be confused when you first start out), see the next section. If not, click on the Basic Jobs link at the top of the screen (don't click your browser's back button, since it'll still display the other jobs that are already taken, so you'd have to refresh). Repeat the process until you get a job, or until the jobs stop restocking (jobs continue to restock until appoximatly 30 seconds into the minute, so in an hour they would stop at 00:30, 10:30, 20:30, 30:30, 40:30, and 50:30). If you don't get a job on your first restock, it's alright. Just try again in 10 minutes. You'll get one eventually. |
| Completing Your Job |
|
This section applies to both types of jobs! You have your job, so now it's time to complete it. Before you open up the Shop Wizard, check the information about the job. First of all, check how much time you will have to complete the job. If you'll only have a minute or two, immediatly cancel the job. You won't be able to do it, trust me. If you have 3 minutes, whether you continue or cancel depends on how many of the item you need to get. If it's 2 or 3, HURRY AND TAKE THE FIRST ONES YOU FIND ON THE SHOP WIZARD. Anymore, and you should cancel. Having only a minute or two is a rare case for me (I usually get jobs that have time limits of a half hour or so). So you know how much time you have and how many of the item you'll need. Now, copy (Ctrl+C) the name of the item you need to get. Open up your Shop Wizard window and paste (Ctrl+P) the name of your item into the correct box beside the Shop Wizard's picture and select "identical to my phrase". Now, before you submit this information, check the item name. Since you need to get more than one item, the name you copied will be in plural. Now, some items, such as "Chocolates", will not need to be changed, but for most others you'll need to remove an S, or change whatever other pluralisation was used. Most people have their own strategy for finding the cheapest prices. One strategy I will suggest, however, that you right click and select "Copy Shortcut" is you find a shop with a good price on the Shop Wizard but want to check for others that are cheaper. Copying the link directly from the Shop Wiz will make the item appear at the very top above all the other items (but under all the fancy graphics if any), so if it's a mall you don't have to go through 100 or more items to find the one you need! Don't take TOO long getting the items from other shops using the Wiz - if you complete the job fast enough (time varies) you will get a bonus of a few hundred NP (sometimes up to a thousand!) above the promised price. When you have all the items you need, open up the Employment Agency window, and click where it says to to complete the job. Providing you didn't take too long, you'll get your NP reward. Congrats, you've just completed your first job! |
| About Job Coupons |
To get Super Jobs, one needs a Job Coupon. Job Coupons come in 11 levels (or colors). The 4 highest levels are Gold BRIGHTVALE (BV) Job Coupon (JC), Silver BV JC, Brozen BV JC, and finally, Green BV JC. The other 7 coupons are simple JC, going from colors (highest to lowest): Pink, Purple, Gold, Silver, Red, Blue, and Green. There is a 25,000NP* or so difference in price from other user's shops between the Pink and Green Job Coupons. There is a 300,000NP* different between Gold and Green BV JC. Why? Because BV jobs pay much more that the jobs regular JCs can give you. Are Job Coupons worth it? Let's take a look...
Despite the low profit from JC, it does give you a benefit - being able to check the price before applying for the job. With the high price of JCs, there is usually little rush, so you'll be able to find the job that will give you the most for your NP. Also, when debating whether to use your Job Coupon for one more job or sell it, check the price difference between the current Coupon and the next lowest. If the next job's reward is greater than that, you should do it. But in the end, whether or not you buy job coupons in the first place is up to you! *These are old prices from a year or so ago. I will update them with more current ones soon! Also, if you know any of the ??? numbers PLEASE Neomail me with them. You will be credited, of course :) |
